- Always thought it was so awesome how the power levels play in the left channel of this track (like a scouter). Couldn't find a version with English power levels, so took a swing at making one myself. Kept the timing and readings as faithful as I could; had to cut the first few readings of the final group as Japanese seems to be more efficient with the syllables in their numbers.

This almost made me shed a tear. Hearing the readings in English and the static of the image increasing more and more makes this emotional as hell - it's like the scouter is Bardock's final remaining ally in the face of utter annihilation, and is continuously sustaining damage just like he is on his final charge to Frieza's ship, but still pushes through to the end just like him.
I love that If your using earphones the voice is focused on the left ear which is where Bardock's scouter would be placed

This song is really emotional to me honestly. It’s basically Bardock fighting against the inevitability of not only his own death, but the death of his entire race, but he nonetheless resolves to fight. It’s not like the rest of DBZ where the good guys always win. He was going to die and he knew it. Still went down like a frickin champ

I love the attention to detail here. The image getting fuzzier and fuzzier, signaling the scouter is getting more damaged as Bardock just plows through soldier after soldier. The final power level read is 530,000, which is Frieza’s power level at the time of Bardock’s showdown with him. The image going out and cutting to black as the signal is lost to represent Bardock’s demise…

Bardock didn't have the scouter on during this i think, i read it as Frieza's scouter (or just any scouter reading the power levels of the onslaught) seeing Bardock's power level getting higher and higher before being blown up

Freedomerider the Japanese lyrics translated to English
Freedomerider in the Japanese lyrics it kept on repeating a bunch of numbers from 800-225k then jumped to 530k the level around 800 were prob frieza’s minions. We all know who had the power level of 530k after figuring that one out. I’m sure that 225k was Bardock’s power level. The rage, the frustration had put Bardock into that level.
@@YUZOOOA doubt it, it's probably just frieza's elites numbers, added for the dramatic hopelessness, this was all toeis canon so it doesn't have to be consistent with the main story.
@@basedku1326 it cant be, the way the scouter is reading is as if someone is rising in power, zarbon is the only one of friezas troops that can do that. it must be bardock, it was referenced many times that he grew in power during the special. its not canon, so saying he reached 220k right at the end seems fitting enough, and, although this was probably due to dramatic effect, friezas attack didnt seem to instantly vaporizing him. his armour and the other frieza soldiers all dissapeared in an instant.
only other explanation that fits could be it all being frieza, since it could be the scouter simply slowly counting up.

The only possible explanation for him getting strong like that would be rage, and even then, it still makes no sense, especially when you consider Gohan, who is a hybrid with way more potential than a pure-blood Saiyan, would at most close to triple his base power when enraged.

Bardock is tapping into ssj resulting in a final power level of 220k when the death ball kills him if he went ssj he would have a power level of 500k NOT 11m but he would still lose because frieza has a power level of 530k

This is criminally slept on. I have never heard Solid State Scouter with english scouter readings. the way the picture gets more pixelated makes it feel like this all happened and no one would believe it did. And the cool scouter sound at the beginning is ABSOLUTELY SICK! The ending also got shivers to go down my spine xD nice job!

honestly a lot of dragon ball songs can be reworked into english, so few actually have, and it's criminal.
this mightve been the EASIEST to translate since it's not even sung, but a spoken list of numbers over a wicked instrumental.
seriously this should be incredibly easy to localize.
Also crazy that the numbers insinuate that Bardock reached a power level of over 220k. As someone else stated, in that moment he was far above any of Freeza’s henchmen
he was stronger than great ape vegeta i believe when he went great ape he was around 180k

If Akira Toriyama were around, I would have taken his words to heart. Do plenty and be healthy. It is a shame that the only seeming healthy and 'fair sayain' was killed the genocidal equivalent of your cold food storage! The detail of this is incredibly. The exact replication, the degrade of the signal and even the 'fuzzy' sound of 80s radio. It is amazing. Do more like this. I would want to do more like this too, write my own stuff with it!

@@ProtoMekka my man go watch the music video for The Will of One live in Nashville. The album version is good but the live version is on another level. Also the chorus riff is based on Flash Man's stage's theme which is one of my favorite from the Megaman series.

To think Bardock had a scooter which could read this numbers when Vegeta's, a high level warrior mind you, exploded at Goku's power level makes you wonder what kind of foes he was sent to fight.
I think Scouters broke at the sudden increase. The Z fighters being able to suppress their power and suddenly increase it to their true power level was pretty much an unheard of technique out in space and I'd imagine scouters weren't build to see a power level spike from 100 to 8000 in a instant.

This is the best version I've seen so far, definitley switching to this version for the gym. Scouter readings are just a tiny bit too quiet, but you already know that!
Actually to add on to this, maybe for the end instead of static growing louder you could have an explosion instead

This is amazing! The scouter readings themselves are slightly difficult to hear. I think it's the sound mixing. I definitely think it's a great attempt, and I don't think I've seen anyone else ever attempt to do the readings in English before.
Thanks for watching and taking the time for feedback! To be honest I was worried I would make the voice too loud and ruin the track, so I erred on the side of caution. Figured it would be better to have the voice a bit too quiet than to loud. I agree it is hard to hear on speakers but I like the way it turned out when played on headphones. Mostly just glad to hear a few others liked the idea! Might repeat the process on one of the remixes sometime too.

The transition to the static black and white was really nice and sad at the same time for multiple reasons. One is that Bardock's efforts were in vein as he couldn't save his planet and his people (including his wife), being the only one brave to face a strong dictator and just being forgotten as Goku never even knew Bardock or his actions. In fact nobody knew, the rest of the survivors besides Vegeta thought it was just a meteor and not knowing a brave warrior was trying to fight for them. He was too over his head not realizing how dangerous Frieza was till the very end where it cuts off

Bardock was always my favorite saiyan and was a true fighter who would fight even the toughest enemies when the odds were against him I really wish he could have lasted longer but may he rest well.

I miss the old tale of Bardock. A story about how sometimes no matter how hard you try it’s impossible to defy fate
Bardock did defy fate, the fact that he had the courage to stand up to frieza despite the huge gap in their power soiled frieza's pride and it made him shit his pants when goku made him remember that courage
He had a vision of planet Vegeta being destroyed but no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t avoid its destruction
To me, it's not about that nearly as much as it's about having the courage to try even when you're destined to fail. Bardock almost definitely knew he'd be likely to die, but he still kept fighting anyways, and died with a smile on his face knowing that his son would succeed where he couldn't.

Bardock's original story is so kino. I love how they incorporated it into the main story of Xenoverse 2. Was so cool to see his last stand recreated.
