I have a 19 Limited in the exact same color combo, inside and out and I love it. I've taken it to PINS with no problem on the beach as well as out west in Moab, outside Sedona, at Grand Canyon, through Death Valley and through Sequoias. It's never let me down except for mileage. Love the cool seats and the sound system. Nice to see the Limited getting some well deserved loving.
Nice thanks for sharing! The new features in the 2022 make it even better now💪🏼
What tires are you running on sand? I drive PINS monthly and want to make sure the limited i am getting is going to handle sand no problem
@@WaterDink At the time I had Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails in a 255/55r-20 since I kept the OEM wheels. Great tires that never let me down. I've since sold her and moved onto an older LX470 with much more meat in the tires.
@@nottherealjk That is what I am trying to figure out... go with A/T tires on the OEM 20" wheels or sell all 5 and get 265/70r17 s. what is your opinion?
just bought a 2016 4 runner limited with about 44k miles white exterior the brown interior, and luv it! so good in the snow in Colorado, gas is horrible, and power is meh, but the style, the comfort, and off road capability is amazing, not to mention the resell value in Colorado is amazing lol.
Nice bro enjoy!!
Awesome video, no one else is comparing these two
Models when it comes to capabilities and features . I think ima limited kinda of guy
30bananaguy ya buddy the Limited is pretty sweet
Also third row seating on the limited trim that you cannot get on any of the TRD trims. I love my 7 passenger 4Runner limited.
yes, limited 4x4 is awd all the time. I usually never have to put it in any other 4x4 setting... it handles GA clay (wet) and soft beach sand no problem on h4f.
Is not awd is 4wd real (H4F : high speed 4 wheels Free central diff transmitting torque to the front all the time 60/40 % ratio. ) awd don’t do that
I like that ECU plate trim! Go Pirates!
Yes it is!
Cool quick vid. Just picked up a 2014 limited with 60K and took it up in the hills of the PNW, I was starting to wonder what I was missing if I had a TRD, probably just some clearance?
Mostly the extra 4x4 capabilities with the rear locker and crawl control but clearance is identical at the stock level before any lifts. The TRD PRO has a 1" lift in the front only
Great video! What pressure do you run on those 20 in wheels on the beach?
We didn’t air down at all as this was fairly packed sand but usually down to 15psi in softer sand
How did it do on the actual beach with ruts? Any clearance issues with the limited bumper, or any problems with the 20" wheels airing down?
I honestly couldn't drive it on the open beach with deep sand because the national park requires a permit and we were there just a few days. But my stock 2015 Trail edition used to do amazing in equivalent soft sand here in Hawaii just in 4L. Actually with the stock tire/wheels, I thought it performed better on the beach than when I went through three rounds of different tire sizes over following two years after lifting it: 285, 295, 305
And yes, airing down is always best bet, especially in soft sand but I didn't air down at all in this video and the Limited just floated across it
@@everydaybettereverydaystronger Thank you for the reply. I wish I could get those ventilated seats on an offload model.
offshorebear agreed! Such a nice option when it’s warm outside
👍❤❤
Looking at a 2016 limited right now, I know it’s full time 4wd 4 low being the second option on the turn knob, but that second 4 low option. L4L Does it lock the rear diff?
Unfortunately no rear diff lock on the Limited
L4L lock Central differential 50/50 torque front//rear
@@JC-xc8rx no... 4hf is open diff... H4l is central diff lock... 50:50... L4L is low range co e by transfer case lock
How is cooled seats? Do they work good?
Small vent holes in the leather, cold AC
air blows through them
I love mine , great in the summer!
What’s the difference between the part time and full time system?
Full-time is essentially AWD (All Wheel Drive) with the ability to manually go into 4 Low. Part-time driving is 2WD all the time until you need the 4x4, then you have to manually engage it. There are pros/cons of both and can be subjective because many people love full-time (like a Subaru) while many do not and prefer part-time (like a Jeep Wrangler)
Full-time AWD uses Torsen (Torque Sensing) center differential, which is a type of limited-slip differential that can distribute torque between the front and rear axles based on traction needs. It is biased towards the rear wheels. In typical conditions, the system sends more torque to the rear wheels to achieve a rear-wheel bias, which can contribute to better handling characteristics and a more traditional rear-wheel drive feel. You can lock this center diff to get into 4H locked drive mode. I personally prefer Full-time AWD because it just adds some handling and traction on slippery surfaces all the time and I do not need to think of it or switching between 2WD and 4WD.
On the contrary, Part-time system has lockable center diff only, no fancy Torsen, so it can 2WD rear-only or 4WD, which equals to 4H LOCKED center diff. So it is not meant to be driven on dry roads, asphalt as it wears all components with each turn and curve.
@@Labsy full time is a heavier more durable system? Why doesn’t the trd pro doesn’t have this system?
@@tubeularvids, I cannot say why Toyota decided that way, but Full-Time AWD is not more durable, but on contrary it is more sensible, less roboust, has more sensors and electric components than Part-Time system, whitch is a simple mechanical locking center diff. Probably manufacturers have this in mind when installing one or the other system.
@@Labsy I never got to test drive either of the 4 runners but when I do I’ll try to see the difference you’re talking about. Much appreciated
You can take it out of 4x4 and leave it in 2 wheel no?
Not with this one as it’s fulltime 4wd high
@@everydaybettereverydaystronger do you know if they have an option for 2 high and 4x4? Im thinking about buying one as my Tundra is a pig on fuel, but if its always in 4h i don’t imagine it would be much better.
@@Dee12327 Yes the SR5 and TRD models have it. Stay away from the limited if you don't want full-time 4wd
@@everydaybettereverydaystronger perfect, thanks a-lot! I wanted a limited because of the sound system, and AC seats, but i really hate chrome, and i don’t want the full time AWD. Perhaps ill look into a TRD.
Is it better then trd pro? Like more comfy?
Surprisingly yes, slightly softer leather
Only the nightshades are full time 4x4.
Actually all the Limited 4x4 models are full-time 4x4
I own a 2018 limited I assure you it's awd with the option to put it in 4wd when I want. I live in the northeast and I rarely have to put it in 4wd for snow
Real worlds mpg?
We averaged 18-19 back to Charlotte
@@everydaybettereverydaystronger thank you, i am looking in to get 4runner
@@luckyyou774 Honestly you'll be happy with any of the models. I've had many Toyota 4x4s through the years (12' Tacoma, 08' 4Runner, 97' LandCruiser) and the 2014-20' 4Runner is the best so far in my opinion
@@everydaybettereverydaystronger thank you, i just like boxy look of 4runner, highlander looks like minivan, rav4 is not truck. So i am looking at 4runners or gx460 lexus.
@@luckyyou774 I almost bought a GX until I saw the dysfunctional rear barn door like the FJ
