Easy Crochet Chapstick Cozy~no hardware necessary!

- This adorable chapstick cozy can be made classy and plain or embellished to have a boho feel. The choice is completely up to you! They work up very quickly and require very little by way of supplies. They also make great market prep for Spring and Summer vendor markets.

Supplies Needed:
-25-35 yds of any size 4 worsted weight yarn (cotton is best, but you can use acrylic. In this video I am using Peaches and Creme Stripey in the color Linen)
-Size F 3.75 mm hook or size needed to obtain gauge
-Stitch marker, scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
-8 mm wooden bead (optional)
Gauge:
23 sc and 22 rows = 4" (10 cm)
Finished Measurements:
Cozy measures approx. 2.5" x 1" (6 x 2.5 cm) when laying flat, not including tassel or hanging loop.

I love that she used a Bobby pin for her stitch marker! I’ve never thought of that.
It’s honestly so much easier than opening and closing those flimsy silicone ones. Most of my tricks come from my own laziness🤣

If I make another increase, would it still be 2 sc in each?
No. On the next round, you would only increase in every other stitch or it will start to ruffle
May I ask why you aren’t a fan of the magic circle? I’m a beginner and I’m just trying to learn the most versatile (and easiest) ways to crochet. Thank you!
I once made a large blanket of motifs where I used (what I thought was) the magic circle. I washed it prior to gifting and every one of the motifs came apart in the middle 😩
That must have been really sad! Well this is a great video. I appreciate how easy it is to follow and the result looks really good.

But please don't let my poor experience keep you from trying it🙏🏻 It is definitely because I did it wrong. Many people use it with no trouble. I just decided I wasn't willing to risk it again.

I usually buy an assortment on Amazon or in Walmart in their bead aisle. I would link the one on Amazon, but it’s sold out
@@DaysCrochet the 8mm is way to small and I crocheted thee loop with a 2.75. I even tried drilling the hole bigger. 8mm large hole bead, is that what I’m looking for?
@@Mary-dp5he I use a super small hook (maybe a B or C) to bring the chain loop through the bead. They are fairly big holes. Not those beads on the strand. Wooden bead assortments are usually a good size
