So would you make a Kz for each floor if you had multiple floors? I was also wondering when you're going to make a video for calculating the actual wind load? and could you make it a multi-story building? I'm interested in how each load gets distributed to each floor. Thank you so much loved the video.

    Kestava,
I’ve browsed lots of engineering tutorials. Yours, by FAR, are some of the greatest. Thank you for actually showing the relevant codes. As a fellow US civil studying for the SE, I appreciate it.
    Thanks again!

Hey! I just want to say thank you for taking the time to make all of these videos! As a structural EIT, your videos have been extremely helpful in explaining design concepts. When I get hung up, i start with your channel which often has what I need. Thanks again!

@@Kestava_EngineeringIt was nice to meet you on Thursday! How did it go for you?
I took both vertical and lateral. Both mornings were a disaster, but the afternoon sessions (bridge) went REALLY well (I think).

Hey Rich, I'm glad to see someone creating videos for would be structural PEs! I sure wish I had these videos 8 years ago when I took it, keep up the good work! Also, PNW represent!

Hey kestava, love all your videos especially this one since I’m a telecommunications structural engineer so I use wind loading for everything I do. I was wondering if at some point in the future you could do a video on masonry structures. Specifically how to calculate axial/bending/shear capacities of a masonry wall. Thanks again and appreciate the videos!

Please can you do videos on clad and component wind design. Also how to design shear interaction diagram by hand.
    Thank you again

Referencing ASCE 7-16: Is Chapter 29 the prescribed method to evaluate wind loads on square bin with a hopper? Alternatively, does a square/rectangular hopper behave like an enclosed building and hence is chapter 29 less conservative?

How do you chose between Figure 30.3-2E and 30.3-2F? I see some Engineers using 30.3-2E even when there is a small overhang.

Hi, what if the project is outside of America such as Europe, Asia, or South America, and the owner still wants to use American standard to design structures. Then how to determine the “basic wind speed” for location of project outside of America? Looking forward to your feedback, thanks!!

Random question. How do you know when to consider Cyclon/Tornado loads instead of the wind loads.

    • @Kestava_Engineering

great question - the newest version of the ASCE, ASCE 7-22 has a new chapter the addresses tornado loading!

Is the K2 a typo in the manual? It shows K1, K2, *K2.* Only K3 I see is the equation toward the bottom of Figure 26.8-1.

    Hello, I have a question.
What "V" should I use in the qz equation (ASCE 7-16 26.10-1) Do I use Vult or Vasd ?

    • @Kestava_Engineering
      @Kestava_Engineering  Před 11 měsíci +1

Vult, however you can use Vasd is other cases but you need to pay attention to how you are allowed to apply it.
