    a milestone of ambient.
first track is a total trip soaking with 'the 90s feel' for the lack of better words - you just won’t be able to find stuff like this among todays productions, don't even try. something in the air was different back then.

Yeah, this oldschool 90s ambient era, FAX label etc. was on another level to the mediocre stuff we have today.

guys were sequencing shit like this on analog equipment as well, without any DAW or interface. It was just a different world music producers worked in. It required dedication and more effort, it's not like you can compose it with a laptop and a trackpad in bed. Reason why Prodigy's stuff nowadays doesn't sound as good as their early 90's stuff

I was really struggling with depression, I put this album on, climbed into bed, pulled the sheets over my head and let the music take me on a journey to Ixtlan and beyond, truly mind healing and a masterpiece

I've always loved Chill In, Chill Out & Ring of Power so much. These tracks are like taking a warm bath in sound.

"ring of power" and "bionic commune" are milestones - best tracks on this album. don't miss out on his other two albums "ambiant otaku" and "zenith - zenith" - the latter is undoubtly his best ambient album. he also did a great album together with dennis ferrer called "om - instant enlightenment". it's more goa/trance/techno, but a milestone nevertheless... wherever you are, tetsu - you and your music from back then is greatly missed...

I have a really hard time choosing between Organic Cloud and Zenith. Luckily I play each once a week, minimum. Who is Carlos Vivanco......?

Check out "Ambiant Otaku" too, should you not know it.
Carlos Vivanco is the musician he did the album project "Zenith" with. Tetsu did a lot of collabs.

We lost Tetsu on japan tsunami (~ 2014 year) .. Unfortunately was a big lost for ambiente musik and us.

That is heartbreaking news. It also happens to be, by far, the most terrifying way to die imaginable imo. But I'm glad you were able to explain his long silence.

@@VanezArt Actually that’s a great question and I’m glad you asked because it reinforces the lesson to never ever report something you read on Reddit as documented fact. His Wikipedia entry is a little bit ominous - “After 2007 Inoue has completely disappeared from public view”. Which is definitely hard to explain with an artist who was so prolific and worked with so many different collaborators. But nothing about a tsunami. At least if I happen to bump into Bill Laswell I won’t stand there like a starstruck idiot. I now have something very specific to ask him. I hope it’s untrue and someone posted it just to be a turd. But I’ll see if I can find anything authoritative and post it if/when I do.

@@teddydog6229 thanks. I’m asking because I myself did my own bit of research. in favour of a taunami incident, they often quote Namlook who (his frequent collaborator and friend) said that he never got Tetsu’s whereabouts either; he ostensibly sent him emails but never heard back

Actually revisiting Organic Cloud in fashion, as I seem to overlook this particular album from Inoue far too often lately -I am on a long run with World Receiver and Inland mostly (some atemporal Shades of Orion II thrown in the mix also)-.
