On October 21st, 1923, the laying of the foundation stone marked the realization of a visionary concept for a hospital that would provide care to individuals in need, irrespective of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, or social status. This fundamental principle has remained integral to the provision of care by St. Mary's Hospital to date.
