WHO WE ARE? WHAT’S WITH OUR ACCENT?
We're Dom & Marie, a French Canadian couple who love Nutella and live in a van. Marie is the brain (Ph.D student) and Dom's the dreamer (Creative director).
In our newly converted Promaster 136'' named Vanessa, we plan to visit every single corner of North America. Our goal is to inspire others to start #vanlife and to help build their very own home on wheels.
My husband and I took a year off and backpack around the world. New Zealand was one of our favorite country. One thing you forgot to mention is how wonderful people are in NZ. I hope it hasn't change, we were there in 1990.

Twelve years ago I was lucky enough to have made it possible to live in Queenstown for a year (I'm Dutch) and guess what, I worked at Fergburger 🥰 The most awesome job I ever had due to the best crew and boss (he's not running it anymore) ever! And because of the guests from all over the world enjoying our products. It was the best time of my life and I'll cherish it for ever. So it's truly awesome to see it again, thank you! 🙏

I had the best vacation in New Zealand. It was epic: bungee jumping, skiing the glacier, helicopter skiing, white water rafting and fishing all from Queensland. Toured the island and stayed at B&Bs mostly. The farm stay in Te Anu was memorable because the food was the tastiest--everything fresh from the farm.

An insanely funny and educational video that contains everything from "You shall not pass" to "You shall travel" And I think it is so that if a viewer does not notice that a video has been cut or edited, it is usually 100% successful in just that. This is the first time I'm grateful for winter and Covid-19. A big greeting from a rainy Norway without snow (for now)

I grew up watching Discovery Channel (when was worthy) and reading National Geographic... Let's say I've traveled the world hundreds of time, and a have a library if nonsense facts in my head... Wish one day I could experience it all. New Zealand is so bloody intense and wild. Magical. Now, Dom, with that 👕 you look a lot like Dave Grohl, you know the Mr. Smiley logo. Amazing video.

Loooooove NZ 🤩 we spent 3 months there, bought a van and went around too. Best experience for us in the south were the blue pinguins in Oamaru 🐧 they are sooooooo cute 🥰 and the see lions in Dunedin! Our favorite on the northern island: Tongariro for sure!! Beeeaaaaautiful! We got engaged at the emerald lakes 💕💍 my fiancé and I strongly recommend to visit this country!!

Yeah, it sure was something. It is a very cultural thing in the Maori population in NZ. It was hard to do, but beautiful to experience with locals.

HA great trip to the motherland! Now i want to get back there....I really enjoyed seeing your adventures and please come again (after COVID) then I shall write you an itinerary of the hidden spots in NZ, if you want, maybe you'll see the Flight of the Concord guys! Glad you did 'The Crossing', it is a bit crowded though, but very scenic - did you think it really was that hard? We watched and tried to assist a poor Japanese girl scream her way from the top of red crater on the red scoria down to the lakes... yabai yabai (dangerous), kowai kowai (scary)! Did you try boysenberry or hokey pokey ice-cream? And did you eat some of that wild boar? I bet you had a great time with those guys. Loved the video! Your videos are so much fun to watch! Looking forward to Norway.

Life has been pretty much normal up until Sunday when we found our first cases of the new UK strain outside of our Managed Isolation facilities in Auckland. Keeping our fingers crossed it does not spread too far and Auckland can be released from restrictions soon!

Another great video but I'm sad that you didn't show us the van interior and tell us a bit about that. Also sad that I couldn't read your subtitles due to them not being on a solid colour background (loved the yellow though, fellow fan of that).
As a special request for the next video would you be able to put them down the bottom and stick them on a solid colour background that contrasts well with the text colour?
Good call on showing the interior of the van! We should’ve thought about it. For the subtitles, it’s hard to put them below because this is where the CZcams Subtitles go. I can work on readibility though! Sorry for this inconvenience!

I know what you mean about the red CZcams time bar. If you click on any video and click on the subtitle icon on the right hand side at the bottom below the red time line, you'll see where they put the official subtitles and how they do them. They are frequently terribly incorrect because they are auto generated but it would give you an idea where you could put yours. Alternatively maybe you could put them right at the top. You can easily make them a lot smaller than you did this time. Not sure what font size you used this time but for legibility it is more about the spacing between the letters than the actual size. Examples of fonts that are very easy for dyslexics like me to read include: Bookman Old Style, Comic Sans MS, Consolas, Courier New etc. I'm sure you get the gist if you have a look at them.
