Now it's time for the Monk from FFXIV! Again, I'll split the making of in several videos. In this part I explain how I sewed the combat dress, the pants and the boots. Benni was an amazing help with all the details, so a huge shoutout to him! Also welcome my new corgi puppy, Midna! She is Zelda's half sister!

I'd never make these, but these are amazing.
The embroidery is a genius choice, some would only use printed transfer paper. Embroidery makes that oriental feel!

This video rocked! And it's just the first of the series 💪I have two questions I hope you'll answer:-Which programs do you regularly use to create 3D models? -How do you obtain 3D models for characters, as shown in the video?
Benni uses Fusion360 from autodesk. If you are an artist you can use it for free even! :) And the 3D model we found on a FFXIV model viewer website (just google for it!) :)

I've been a subscriber for a long time and I always enjoy watching your videos. Also I love watching your cute puppies. Now it's time to make my own armor. I hope one day get it ready, and I want to get your books as soon as possible. I only have a question, where do you recommend to look for a pattern? Sometimes I look for an armor pattern on internet but there are only poor quality images. So it gets a bit difficult trying to get the right one. I ask this because I saw that you used kind of a magazine for making your boots patterns.
It totally depends on what costume your want to make. Check out sewing shops for fabric patterns but for armor you mostly have to make the patterns yourself. I prefer doing the lining stitching with the sewing machine, it's a lot faster aha.

Could you do more on embroidery Patches and how to create the files? Most people's budgets can afford an even a low end $3000US Embroidery Machine but I think most cosplays have access to embroidery print shop/ commissioner that can print the work they need. This way they can cut the cost of making the file and send it to the printer for a one-off project.

For the boot covers do you add some extra space for the seam? if so, how much?

I only recently discovered there was a teflon foot for sewing vinyl and faux leather (sigh). That would have saved me so much pain with my costumes.

Super Video :3 Und die Stickerei ist mega! Dazu habe ich auch eine Frage, wie bekommt man die Vektordatei aus Illustrator zur Stickmaschine? Die braucht ja so ein spezielles Datei Format. Gibt es dazu ein Plugin? Wäre super cool wenn ihr mir da weiterhelfen könntet :3
+Alice Meadison Also jede Stickmaschine hat eine eigene Software die so etwas kann. Sind aber meistens sehr teuer. Google mal nach SewArt, das ist eine günstigere Alternative! :)
