I wonder sometimes why film sources - (B&H, Adorama, FPP, etc.) don’t use the inflation comparison angle when advertising their film. It might just show that the “high prices” of today are honestly not that big of a deal. That said, I’m very glad I stocked up on film and put it in freezers over the past 20 years.

I think the film price discourse has two major blindspots people don't think about when complaining.
    1. When we all started shooting film again the prices were low because the companies were losing money, but there wasn't a big enough customer base to adjust for inflation. So now with renewed interest suddenly they can finally turn a profit.
    2. We are comparing it to digital. When it would be impossible to even out the pricing with a digital sd card. You brought up such a good point that adjusted with inflation the prices actually are pretty similar. Because we didn't take a thousand photos of a birthday party back in the day.
    Great video as always!

We're at a time where whatever kind of photography you want to get into, you can. You can take photos on a drone, your phone, or on film, and I hope we fully move past the idea of 'replacing' film

great video, and i agree with the role of nostalgia in our willingness to pay a “premium” for a roll of film.
do you have a list of the smaller businesses producing film stock? have only ever shot the big names and would love to try out something new. thanks! :)
