So, to make sure I understand, there was a world ending scenario threatening Earth, AJAX, and a contingency plan created by the Foundation went public, these four beings that had been imbedded deep in the Earth. When these four beings were found out, the world at large prayed for their survival, and these four beings ascended to godhood, destroyed AJAX and then proceeded to do whatever it is they do to end humanity anyway? We traded one XK for another?
I'm pretty sure that's what happens, but it is a bit confusing to know when it goes from one threat to the other in description.
Certainly lost me at times in which entities I was supposed to be imagining as I listened to this.
Yeah, the girls that are buried are clones or smth like that, I guess, of scp 239 Witch Child who is said to posess the power of granting her wishes. She is said to be nice and posses the innocence of a child so, I guess, when everyone prayed to her she kinda wanted to live up to expectations... Or them now, dunno why there are several.
@@BoxCox He said they had a close call with 239 almost ending the world, and that incident lead to the foundation realizing it needed a contingency plan. The four girls are random people they grabbed off the street and stuffed full of tech and sorcery in order to create said contingency plan. They don't appear to have any relation to 239.
It sounds like the original intent was that these girls would basically be infinite baby making machines. Since he said they had wombs that could operate for 1000 years. But, then when every living human prayed for their survival, they became gods.
The effect they currently have, of transforming humans into these “floaters” seems to be a defense mechanism of sorts. He said “gods need followers” which implies that they are creating these followers in an attempt to save themselves. Though they did destroy Ajax at some point, so I’m not 100% sure on that part.
@@BoxCoxI can help make the backstory at 16:26 clear! I did have to look up 239: She was/is a little girl with astronomically powerful reality bending abilities, which the Foundation felt threatened by. The Foundation lured / kidnapped four already existing thirteen year old orphan girls off the streets, and combined technology with magic and rituals in classic SCP fashion, with the goal of making them a contingency plan for an end of the world scenario. He mentions they have functioning wombs made to last for a thousand years. He also mentions SCP-2000, essentially a humanity mass repopulation entity. The icon of the Thaumiel class, really. The girls were buried before 2000 was discovered, it made them unnecessary, 30 years later AJAX utterly destroyed SCP-2000, and then these four girls were remembered. It is noted that the girls "weren't built to be divine." When the PSAs mentioned the girls, they meant in the sense of restarting humanity. But things went wrong. Whether through AJAX's influence, or the ambient psychic disturbance to reality that releasing all of the SCPs over the course of three years brought (9:16), or all of the above, a desperate human population collectively clutched to this PSA in a panic and instead of "praying for their survival" (9:37-10:00) for a future humanity, everyone begged to be saved now and put that belief in the idea of those girls. What I imagine was a widespread ambient reality distortion by then turned those wishes and desires into a twisted reality. It made those orphan girls gods.
Meanwhile, the Serpent's Hand hanging out in the Wanderer's Library be like: "Goddammit! You guys had one job!"

Usually when the SCP foundation drops the secrecy things have already gone to shit and it can't get much worse... but this time they made things MUCH worse.
"this time they made things MUCH worse". Are you sure? It's apocalyptic, sure, but there's no info on what AJAX opening its last eye might have done; it's possible that that could have (somehow) been even worse yet.
@@SolarShado considering Ajax was obliterated instantly by the sisters already means it was limited in power. Their contingency would have worked if 05-1 kept his mouth shut
@@friendlyelites what makes you say that? Wouldn’t the sister-mothers bring about the end of the world anyways? Even if it was all kept secret?
@@DatsRandom No because 05-1 telling the world about them turned them into Gods, since they were quite literally humanities last hope. And well, we know how that turned out. Before then they were basically inert corpses.
@@SolarShado I mean sure... but short of just straight up annihilating all of humanity/ the Earth/ the Universe (or otherwise rendering them 100% incapable of supporting life)... it can't really be much worse, it'd only be as bad but in different ways.
I'd put this SCP on par with SCP-001 "when day breaks", they're equally apocalyptic, just in different ways.
Now do we want to place bets on the powers of a previously unknown extra-planar entity? Probably not. That said, it's kind of the SCP foundations job to take those kinds of risks if humanity is at stake.
While a lot of people seem put off by the Keter+ entries these past few years, finding them overdone by this point, it's entries like this one and 6200 Insomnium that still manage to spark in me that same sort of existential horror that I had when I first found SCP. Both stories already had the apocalypse happen, but the "how" and aftermaths still manage to pull me in. I haven't kept up with SCP as much since around the 5000 contest(?), so these few that I have caught in the interim really make me want to take a week off and delve into the entries I've missed.
Have you read 7004? you might like that one
Keter+ is hard to write well as a concept anyway. Alot of them border onto just trying to be so grand it ultimately belittles itself and the writing capability of the author.
Yeah I'm seeing a lot of "I hate the unstoppable/world ending ones" but this one is obviously going for a cosmic horror angle ... That's the point?
In my headcanon, the "Mainline" Foundation found this entry while dimension-hopping and prevented it from happening.
For those trying to get a sense of scale for these beings, I did some math so you don't have to...
Pallas, the largest, is 23.5 km tall.
Which is 14.6 mi, or 77,099 ft.
To compare something of a similar height... Olympus Mons, the highest peak in our solar system, is only 21.9 km (13.6 mi/72,000 ft)
Crazy as that is, here's something even more nuts...
MAGOG protocol, tenant 2 says "Under no circumstances are any personnel permitted to travel to an area that will be in the path of an SCP-7450 transience within 72 hours."
Pallas takes 468 days to circumnavigate the planet, meaning she travels around 53 miles a day... However, with her height, she would be visible from around 235 mi away. So, even in the best-case scenario, with her coming directly at you, 72 hours wouldn't be enough. She would be visible for about 4 days...
In case someone is wondering:
The Titanoboa is the largest snake ever to exist, with one specimen believed to be 14.3 meters (or 47 feet) in length and weighed over 907 kg (or 2,000 pounds), having lived around 60 million years ago. It's also believed that it primarily ate crocodiles.

Nope. As best I can tell the author made up an entire world ending entity as a plot point for this SCP just for it to be destroyed and refused to elaborate. Baller move.
Goddamn, the voice acting is incredible. Especially towards the end.
So I listened to this while cooking so correct me if I’m wrong, but the gist is some other anomaly “unrelated” to this SCP came and was completely uncontainable, the foundation made an announcement that this was the end, but mistakenly told humanity that humanity will thrive again because the foundation set up a fail safe in the form of four girls buried in the earth who through science and magic would replenish humanity after some time. This then caused a panic that woke the girls prematurely and caused them to rampage throughout the Earth, gathering humanity through siren song, and destroying the first anomaly, causing a different end to humanity becoming the actual scp that is focused on here.
seems SCP 001 Gate Guardian - Uriel appears to have reinforcements

While they can be very good, it's often only done because it's very easy to make a backstory that makes sense and also has an "epic" twist using such tropes. It turns your otherwise garbage plot into a mediocre one, at the sacrifice of creativity. Writing SCPs that don't fall under the normal classifications and/or are obvious Mary Sues have that same problem. Not saying ALL of them are bad and unimaginative, it's just that from a writer's standpoint, it often doesn't take a lot of imagination to come up with one. "OBJECT CLASS: ANNOYING. SCP-42069 IS A GIANT ORANGE WITH HUMAN EYES AND A HUMAN MOUTH. IT IS ALWAYS SAYING 'HEY, HEY APPLE' AND IF YOU HEAR IT YOUR BRAIN MELTS OUT YOUR EARS. IT'S SO LOUD THAT YOU CAN HEAR IT FROM HALFWAY ACROSS THE PLANET AND THERE'S NO WAY TO STOP IT!!!! JOURNAL ENTRY ONE; I LIVE UNDERGROUND AND IVE BEEN WAITING 12 YEARS FOR, WHATEVER THAT 'THING' IS, TO CEASE ITS CRIES. JOURNAL ENTRY 2; IM BEGINNING TO GO CRAY CRAY FROM STAYING UNDERGROUND FOR SO LONG!! JOURNAL ENTRY 3; YEAH, THATS IT. IM GOING OUTSIDE!! I HAVE TO SEE IF ITS STILL OUT THERE. JOURNAL ENTRY 4; OH NOOO ITS STILL OUT HEEERRnkfkfkk ----- "
@@yourface2464 Hard disagree. I don't like how interconnected and convoluted newer entries are. Many rely on knowledge of other equally convoluted SCP, not to mention the ever more ridiculous classification names and methods.
Ooh, this one was really interesting. Is there an entry about AJAX as well, or does it only feature in this article? From what I can tell, it doesn't have its own entry, but I thought I'd ask.
There's no entry for 981-AJAX.
It's like they didn't even have the time to classify it before they messed up with the 4 girls and created something worse.
Im going to have to replay this a few times as i have no idea what was going on
This.....brought tears to my eyes
I dated a girl named Rachael once.
This is about accurate.
Just a comment on the height numbers given at the beginning - the smallest one is about twice the size of mount Everest.
I'm guessing your analytics said it wasn't working, but on scps like this one I wish you would have continued doing the little explanations at the end of the video you did you a while. Not that this needs a lot of explanation, but I want to know if there's an 'after' story on the wiki for this.
Kaktus just casually writing world ending SCP events
Your work is always so good. Thanks for sharing
For anyone not really in the know about this, who might not have been around for the 2000 fallout drama (or who never paid attention to SCP writing matter/cared about drama) SCP-2000 was kind of a gamechanger. It's basically a reversal of many kinds of Apocalypsis, a sort of Get Out of Jail Free card for the Foundation that--to many--sort of took the wind out of the sails of a lot of the more frightening or disturbing SCPs about the world ending, because like... if everyone starts turning into a clown, or a giant country-sized bear wrecks our atmosphere, or some ancient one-eyed god comes back and kills everyone, why does it really matter if 05-2 presses a button and basically hits a console Reset on everything?
So, this is a late-come entry after its effects, but the 'force easily brushing aside SCP-2000' is a pretty mainstay trope in SCPs these days as a result of that introduction; not super relevant here, but I just wanted to mention it.
I just realized, a year after the last time I watched this video, that this is basically the Eldrazi Titans in SCP form
Notification showed up as L is for Lame lol
When O5-1 reveals his name, you know you're flat screwed.
Megiddo? That's new.
After some research it apparently means the SCP has ended the world. Kinda weird how they can classify it as such since if it did, no one would be around to classify it. Though it's fiction and not everything is gonna make sense.
@@TheMadJester0 I think it's kinda like a zombie apocalypse in the sense that the end of the world does not mean the end of humanity. The world as we know it is gone, but humanity is still there.
BABE WAKE UP VOLGUN POSTED
I’m calling it. The old 055-479 trick.
