    I think you could put a layer of cheese cloth under the mantle scarf. If it's too white, a quick tea rinse would tone it down. I think purple lights would go with the neon light a bit better.

    It's amazing what a vase of dead sticks can do. You know what I love is the tall skinny table off to the left with the book stack and skull next to the tarot poster. It just looks really sharp to me.

  • @birdlady88

    The mantle turned out great. The owl was definitely the way to go for inside the cage. If the purple string of lights is still an option, that might be a better match in hue with the neon sign. Although the green grew on me by the end of the video, it did give me a brief Christmas vibe. The ram skull is a great accent.

    I love those fake books as well, they're great space fillers and prop holders.
    I think this all came together very well!
    I especially like the cauldrons down there.
    Splendid job!
    Stay spooky 🖤🎃🖤

    I'd almost think the green and the purple would be nice for the lights. Alos, I use dead branches in my decor every year, glad Im not alone in saving the ones that are particularly creepy :)

    I like the lights, gives more interest to the scarf. Keep the owl in the cage. 🦉👍🏼 It's starting to look very Halloweenish at your place. 😁

    Your mantle decor looks great. I think the pieces from the previous witch theme go perfect. Love all the faux books & the dead branches in the vase. I personally like it better without the green lights.

    Lovely mantle! Since the brick in your fireplace adds a lot of texture and pattern, I would put down an off-white, solid (maybe velvet?) mantle scarf, then the black one, to show off the black mantle scarf design. It is an unusual design and deserves a bit of a spotlight. Thanks again for your work.

  • @CeliaAWhite

    The mantle looks amazing! But I would switch out the green lights for purple. Love all your Halloween videos!

    This looks great. Maybe add a tea light in the vase or some other light to show the spider webs.

  • @leannmarshall28
    @leannmarshall28 Před 2 lety

    Gorgeous display! If you put something behind the mantle scarf it could be something like light silk scarves in a light color, so that it would not make it too heavy looking but kind of Gypsy-like. But even without doing anything else it's really nice and a perfect focal point!

  • @TigerzLionzPistonzWingz
    @TigerzLionzPistonzWingz Před 2 lety +1

    The challenge with your fireplace mantle decor is the brick color which makes everything disappear in front of it. Is there any way to hang creepy cloth over that part of the brick? Also I think if you used a beige or green creepy cloth behind your mantle scarf instead of more black, the scarf and its design would pop. The green lights seem out of place as well, would lean toward purple. However with all that said, if you left everything the way you have it now it will still be very much appreciated by your guests who will love the palm reader sign and then take it from there. Don't let us HH commenters nit pick your designs to death.

    I think the purple lights would look nicer, and they would tie in with the sign, but the mantle looks amazing…..really spooktacular 🧙‍♀️ 🎃 🕯️ 👻

  • @cyberi4a
    @cyberi4a Před 2 lety

    Green, clear, orange or purple lights? Use the one that goes with the lights of the Palm Reader sign. Maybe clear lights behind the mantel cloth might help show the cloth pattern better.

    Fortune tellers are a form of witchcraft so it works =) the green lights are definitely nice but I think the purple would look better with your palm reader sign. Looking great so far!

    Amazing! What about a silky scarf, solid color like purple under the mantle runner so the design would show up? Can’t wait to see more 🧡🖤🧡

    I think it looks amazing! I agree with the idea that I see in the comments with backing the mantle skirt with a contrasting fabric to make the mantle skirt pop. Other than that I love how it looks!

    @angk8249 Před 2 lety

    Agree with other comments about adding a tea cloth or back drop under mantle piece. If not, you lose how cool the design is.
    Add some feathers in with your sticks. Gives off the birds as familiar vibes.
    Go with purple lights.

    That came together pretty quickly! I love when there’s a plan or inspiration to jump from!
    So, here’s what I’d do:
    - get a lighter color creepy cloth(s) and hang behind the mantle scarf, maybe even double it up, because that design is so pretty, it’d be a shame to not even see it!
    - if you don’t light the fireplace, string those green lights around a small bundle of wood, or drape on what’s there already- that would give an otherworldly glow and an unexpected color in the fireplace!
    - go get some PURPLE string lights, I’d go for 2 strands of battery powered ones (my favorites are from Lowe’s) and wind one strand behind the layered mantle scarves, and the other set BEHIND the mantle items. That way you don’t see the actual lights but the glow they offer sets all the dark pieces off from the wall. Also, benefits of using the battery ones: they are on wire, so you can position them exactly how you want, they don’t heat up, and the thin wires can go under/between items without disrupting their placement.
    -Optional: water down brown paint and rub on the ram skull, wait 2 min, then lightly rub off with a dry paper towel, let dry. Makes it look a bit aged.
    Everything else is pretty perfect!
    I really love so many of your pieces, the tarot posters you ordered a few years ago are amazing, the potions area in your bookcase looks fantastic! I can’t wait to see what else you do this year!

    Honestly your mantle display surpasses Spirit's by miles. It looks great! The one thing I'm not keen on is the green lights. I agree with Kerri that fairy lights might look nicer than typical large strands as well. They come in all sorts of colors. Maybe blue or red to match the palm reading sign?

  • @colemyst
    @colemyst Před 2 lety

    I've always liked spooky mantle scarves but like yours they're all usually photographed against something small and lightly colored making them pop and I know I'll end up using it on something else. The area looks great; like you rams head better than the gold inspiration piece but that's only my opinion. A few flickering candle tucked around could help add some depth and bring out the details of your decor. The work you put into everything should not go unnoticed.

  • @doloresromo199
    @doloresromo199 Před 2 lety

    I love how you put it all together! I am partial to 💜 Purple lights lol..perhaps try a bit larger ones to eliminate the mantel scarf. Also in The inspiration photo there is a solid white fireplace therefore can see the scarf better. I love the Potion Shelf and the Added 🧹 Witch motif ..it all blends well together. I like the 🦉 owl and crow in the cage both messengers in the spirit world better than the 💀 skull. Rams head skull the final touch! ❤️🎃👋🤚The Palm Reader is Fantastic!

    I like the green lights i would just leave it alone. The owl you got at target is there anyway to paint the eyes orange? I might go get them myself, owls and trees is my favorite thing for Halloween, brings on the spooky factor.

    It all looks great, love the owl for the cage! That sign really brings it all together! Not loving the green lights to be honest....I do think it's a shame you can't see the design on the mantle scarf the way it shows in the inspiration pic from Spirit. But the whole thing looks gorgeous, great mix of things! You always have a great eye for decorating! xx

    Did you make it?

    I really like and appreciate bringing us along to be able to enjoy your decorating techniques, and I thank you for that! Since the candles are a bit lighter color, I think the owl is perfect in the birdcage along with the crow as you are keeping the cages "animal themed" that way! I think the mantel scarf looks very nice the way you have it also...I'm not sure how sold I am on the green lights per say, and I'm not sure how the purple lights would look either since it might hender it back to a darker look ..Have you thought about trying orange lights to see if you like those maybe? Or add possibly a combination of two different colored lights into the mix? Your decorating is coming along very nicely, and you are definitely putting me into a spooktacular mood for the upcoming holiday! Wishing you a boo-tiful weekend, and take care! Ms. Elizabeth 🖤🎃🕸️🧡💀
