Quality First Day In Kurdistan

- Today was our first proper first day here in Slemani, Kurdistan and what a day it was.
We kicked things off with a fresh breakfast followed with a visit to the tea shop where we met lots of local Kurdish blokes and ended up drinking a huge bowl of yoghurt which we could not pay for!
The afternoon was spent wandering the bazaar area here in Sulaymaniyah and meeting so many kind local people.
Later on we had a few legendary lahmacun which really hit the spot then we headed to the park to sum up the day.
First impressions of Kurdistan I've gotta say people are super nice here and really do look after you.

1- Azmar mountain. (MUST)
2- Hawari Shar park.
3- Baxi ghsty (Public park)
4- Azadi park (*Azadi: Freedom)
5- Malls (Family mall, Majdi mall)
6- Great mosque of Slemani.
7- Mawlana Park (a very nice park located next to family mall)
8- Sarchinar
9- Amna Swraka museum
10- Mawlawi street.
11- Saholaka (at night)
12- Dukan lake and dam (if you have a car, almost 30 minutes drive from Slemani)
13- Qaragh (for picnic)
14- Hazarmerd cave

Enjoy the hospitality of Kurdish. We are hospitable, I currently study in Hungary and I once invited my Hungarian friends for a dinner, they were surprised, like, why are you cooking for us!? and I told them, well, it's our culture, we invite friends for dinner or lunch, we prefer to cook for them. They were simply mesmerized!

And the chewing gum is actually healthy thats why it tastes bad but only eat a little bit cuz its really hard to chew

@ 12:33 this is just a normal yogurt mixed with water (called Mastaw) it's made from local cow milk. Try to ask for a yogurt made from sheep milk that's faaaaaar tastier trust me.

Ah man, you literally almost brought me to tears. I have a translation center far from the Dolphin hotel less than a minute on Piramerd street. I know that exact place and its surrounding as the back of my hand. I never thought I would miss Sulaymaneyah that much. I am now in Stuttgart, Germany studying MA. Thank you so much for reminding me of there. I am already 3 minutes into watching the video and could not wait till the end to comment. I will keep watching.
