I'd argue the biggest issue is in the middle overall. With Saka/Martinelli being doubled up on, our number 8 & 10 need to start shooting instead of always looking for the pass. Last season Xhaka/Odegaard both offered regular goals - this season we have no danger in the middle.

For all the good he has done this situation is on Arteta. We didn’t need raya and we didn’t need Havertz. What we needed and still need is a top striker. Those two signings have arguably done more harm than good and been very divisive. The mood currently is of his making

Happy New Year HaytersTV! Arsenal’s problem in this game in particular was that their attack was taking too many touches inside the box. I know people are saying they need a striker (they should go for Toney), but say you get a striker and he get’s injured what are they going to do? Arteta needs to shape up his existing attackers to instinctively hit the ball when they get that chance as well as Arsenal going for another striker. On the flip side though, I am not an Arsenal fan and I’m glad they lost 😅

We need a killer striker 100%. But, our attacking threat feels quite 1 dimensional atm. All down the right hand side. Either Odegaard needs to come on left during games and develop a relationship with Martinelli, or build that with Havertz/Rice/Viera. Martinelli is ALWAYS left isolated against 2 defenders. No over or underlapping fullback, no support from the midfield
How can we support these players when the manager does not believe in them either. Trossard and ESR are on in the 88 min, Saka poor but not substituted. So why have a bench? Why renew and extend contracts of players you don't use.
I personally think he will test ESR in this break. ESR hasn't played with the first team regularly enough. Trossard has been shocking. I don't know what will happen to this club.

I do think Arsenal were unlucky not to score in the first half. But their attack let them down with no capitalising Liverpool's mistakes in the best way possible. And in the second half Klopp's changes changed the game and Liverpool were the better team and earned the win. Amazing win at Emirates vs a great Arsenal team.

I’m fully behind this young squad and manager. However, it needs to be said that he/Edu created this problem himself by spending money on Kai and Raya when it could have been better spent. Much better spent. Hopefully he’ll learn from this.

We lost our fluidity offensively for sure, and it’s not just because of havertz, but also Rice. Partey is better than Rice in terms of combining with other midfielders and progressing the ball smoothly. Also xhaka had a much better understanding with martinelli. With zinchenko etc and his goal output was better. Arsenal are yet to adapt to these changes in midfield
They should have kept xhaka and boight a striker with the havertz money.

1) his decision to buy Havertz
2) he has not improved on any of our young players - Martinelli, Saka & ESR
3) he hasn’t got the experience or knowledge to get the team over the line to be successful or to find ways to win in difficult moments
4) He CANNOT get the best out of these players e.g Nketiah & Nelson and others
5) waste in signings e.g. lokonga, Tavares, f.viera, Kiwior

Even if we need a striker and get one - we can’t rely on a striker to score all the goals alone. The rest of the team still need to improve and improve big time, because every single one of them have been playing below par.
