    So many arguments about how it's cheaper to just go and buy them from mcd's, yet failing to realize that making them this way you also avoid the other 15 or so ingredients they put in them. At least in Canada I believe it's around 15, including chemicals to bleach the colour out and preservatives. So not only do these have the same texture as mcdix fries, they're also much healthier.

    If some people didn't try this recipe because of the corn syrup, you can use honey as a substitute. Also, I made this myself and it tasted very well, I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about making some. (By the way, even after adding sugar and the honey, there was no sweetness in my fries as far as I could tell, it tasted perfect)

    They got unevenly colored because he did not shake the basket to move the fries. I worked in hamburger-bars for many years and I have a fry clock in my chest. I just notice I wanted to shake the basket. I never thought of that you actually always do that, to separate the fries from each other. When you lift the basket, shake it or better bump it on the side again to get rid of excess oil. For crispy fries, take them away at once; for softer ones, let them hang over the oil for a little bit of time, for maybe 1/2 minute. Salt them far away from the oil, cause salt bumps on fries and end up in the oil and make it turn black.

    I just made this and let me just say, this is not McDonald's fries, but it is pretty damn good and pretty close to it. Really time consuming, but well worth it. Thanks for sharing this. And to the people who said that it would be cheaper to just buy it from mcdonalds, you must be kidding. A sack of potatoes cost only about 4 bucks, mcdonalds fries cost 2-3 bucks and takes about 2 potatoes to make. In a sack of potatoes you get about 20 pieces each maybe more. For the price of two large fries you could buy a sack of potatoes and make about 10 times the amount. Plus it is fresh and you do not have to take a chance on it being fresh. What could be better than that?

    i love this french fry guy and how in the end he eats the fries one by one, so intently, lost in his own little world. he clearly doesn't like the overcooked nub fries at the bottom of the bag. i'd crush those nubs if i had a bag of fries, i love the nubs, but he daintily avoids them. interesting. and he's about to straight-up suck the ketchup out of the packet when he notices the camera. but he doesn't get pissed about the camera. instead he seems benevolently amused. french fry guy is the best. i imagine he was left at the alter by his fiance when he was 26 and has ever since lived the life of a gentle, eccentric bachelor with a childlike heart. he probably was a high school language teacher. he knows french, spanish, german, latin, greek, dutch, and russian. he could've gotten that phd from columbia and become a famed linguistics professor, he knows it, the talent was there, but he was too heartbroken by the fiance thing to go forward with his studies at the time. so instead his career consisted of a 10 year tenure at St. Mary's of Good Council Catholic High in Rutherford, Pennsylvania. now he's recently retired and is finally allowing himself to indulge in the finer, more frivolous things in life, like having a small bag of french fries every afternoon at exactly 2:30 pm before going to the park to sit on a bench and read and watch the pigeons. then off to the butcher shop where he purchases a single lamb chop, which he sears on the skillet later that night while listening to melancholic love songs from the 1940's. he pairs the lamb chop with a side of broccoli and sits alone at his dining room table eating and reading. nothing to do after but sleep, and as he slips into unconsciousness he reflects soberly on what his life could have been like while simultaneously appreciating the humble, secure, generally pleasant (albeit slightly lonesome) nature of his present existence.

    Cuando las hayamos secado, las ponemos en el freezer durante 20 minutos.

    Anyone who knows McDonalds fries, knows that they are not floppy after being cooked, like the ones in the video. If you watch the video closely when he picks up the fries, they clearly are not stiff on the outside like they should be.

      LifeWithNae That's the key. We don't know how they taste by watching his video, but we can determine that the fries don't have the classic crispy tough exterior that makes them stiff, but soft and tasty inside. One would assume that since his fries look floppy, they might not taste identical, since they are not identical in all respects. When he says "McDonalds Fries", he should mean identical in all respects, otherwise he would need to say they only 'taste' like McDonald's fries, right?

    • @10000fullmetal
      @10000fullmetal Před 10 lety

      1stPlaceDirector I believe McDonald's is not a gourmet food restaurant . Who cares if they are floppy, they better than McDonald's retarded greasy fries. These are just fries who cares, you can make them or buy them from anywhere. Also the reason why McDonald's fries are stiff is because they are some stale fries kept in the freezer for around two weeks or a month.

    • @kittyfox7
      @kittyfox7 Před 10 lety +7

      Um I disagree. I've always had floppy fries from Mcdonalds. The only fries that weren't floppy were normally just made but a few would be floppy. Burger King doesn't have floppy fries tho.

    Don't worry about taking the french fries out and then cooking them twice, . I find it easier if you just keep it on low for a while ( my English "chips" that are as thick as about 2~2 ½ French fries or similar to a wedge, they take 9-12 minutes at 230°F then turn up to 320-350°F for 5-8minutes, depending on preference. They come out fluffy and white inside like how a skinless cod or bass fillet turns from transparent to opaque white when cooked . I don't use sugar or salt because it can cause immature browning, just rinse with plenty of water
    If you want the best fries watch (search for) "Heston perfection - chips" to get inspiration from his bizarre techniques.

    BEAUTIFUL! I love the technique of the more neutral highlight around the jawline... the only thing doll is the highlight is too light for your beautiful skin tone. I would keep it no more that two shades lighter than your foundation, and probably a different undertone. It was just too white, but overall beautiful outcome. For photoshoots this would probably be very beautiful for the camera! Many celebrity artists do dramatically light/bright contour for photoshoots. Also your forehead is not big at all... I don't know why you think it is but please know your forehead is fine and you are gorgeous! Don't let the hateful comments on this video bug you.

    Try brining in salt water first then adding the salt on top won't be necessary. Salt on the crispy fries draws moisture to the surface and makes the fries soggy. Also adding a bit of sugar to the brine will help with quicker Browning.
