  • This video essay is dedicated to 'Maus', a comic book written by Art Spiegelman, which received one of the most prestigious literary awards in the world - a Pulitzer Prize, in 1992. The main argument is that in order to learn from history, it is not always enough to learn the facts - one can justify making the same mistakes over and over again too easily. But when history is taught through art - then it has potential to influence the feelings, thus proving the necessary points and affecting your behaviour. In addition to driving this argument home, this is also a review of the work, hopefully able to interest you in reading it if you still haven't done it.
