If you listen to Conner Mcload during his 1st fight with the Kurgan in highlander, when he unlifes Conner the same music at the end of this video with the huanting chant, plays during that scene.
I remember hating the place when I was a kid. Whenever I wanted to replay it, I always tried to run straight through the map! Love this game, thank you for uploading
such good memories of the whole Fable series, but when this came out my brother and I ran the goofiest fat evil people we could. Good times. Also child me doing the sex with the Fable hoes, I thought I'd get in trouble so I'd wait until my parents were out of the room lol
It's revealed in the lore that Theresa gave murgo tips on how to get the artifacts in see the future and if you look between the lines it's clear that she intended sparrow to free the souls of oakvales villagers that were trapped inside the globe
Its interesting how Old Gregg (the old man who locks you up) survived wondering around Wraithmarsh. Probably outrunning hollow men and staying away from banshees for years until the hero showed up. Since heroes are always looking for fights Old Gregg was in placed in danger by the hero being there with him. Which led him to his death. This reigion always scared me when I was younger
Thank you for all the work you do pulling this together. I played this a lot as a kid so this ambiance just sounds like home. I would spend hours just wandering through the marshes, taking in all the little pieces of the environment and listening to the music. Its been a long time since I've been able to play, but things like this bring it all back. Thank you again
In the game, this area 100% warped my preferences and opinion of fantasy. I want all of my fantasy experiences to be grim and dark and foreboding because of areas like this. I want my character to walk down a dirt road where a dozen bodies sway in the wind as they hang from a tree just off to his right. I want to hear the ropes creak and rasp against the branches. I want my character to wander through the embers of a recently burned down village as a few sullen survivors glare at him and pick through the ruins, trying to find momentos of their past lives or the remains of their loved ones. I want my character to look up at a castle in the distance and ponder the tyrant who lives inside, hoarding wealth and glutting himself on food, all of which was unjustly taxed and levied from his unfortunate and oppressed people. Keep your high, pretty, goodie-two-shoes fantasy to yourself. I want that grim, dark, horrible shit.
@@ignitusmalia6936 well..it used to be a happy hamlet called Oakvale where the original Hero from Fable one came from, it was sacked by bandits who killed all it's inhabitants, slaughtered the Hero's father, abducted his mom and stabbed out his sister Theresa's eyes. An then after it was rebuilt the exploits of a dashing sexy devil called Reaver cursed it forever, turning it into the charming place known as Wraithmarsh, home of the lovely banshees and their darling little children.
Near the portal to wraithmarsh There was an entrance to the dark forest, it's a pity that it was not added there, it would be interesting to see how this location would look in Fable 2
Wraithmarsh is now home to Banshees and Hollow Men mainly there are a few other enemy’s like Bandits only on slave rescue quests a Troll the first time you visit and bounty hunter/community service quests and sometimes Balverines but mainly Banshees and Hollow Men
Looks like Oakvale which the village was burned by Jack of Blades in fable 1 and now in fable 2 wraithmarsh was a quiet village which Oakvale was destroyed in this game. Like the music
i still go here just to see how beautifull is it in those mere seconds in which the player gets experience, giving you a very vivid and colurfull vibe, just to see it instantly get destroyed by it's desturbing fog and sounds
A cursed mockery of a landscape full of gloomy marshes, impenetrable fog, undead horrors and the rotting ruins of a once idyllic hamlet. A long history of brutal bloodshed and cruel tragedy. The intrusive, taunting whispers of a horrific Banshee as she sets her equally vile offspring upon me before screaming my ears bloody. A place where nothing good, lush, vibrant, happy or even _living_ survives for long. Just beyond this accursed bog lies an immoral, lawless town full of the worst sorts of criminals I can imagine, and probably even some criminal types I can't. All this just in order to recruit the evil shell of a man that caused all this to happen in the first place. ... _Eh, I have me best boi doggy along. All is well._
Listening to this made me play the game once more. I wouldn’t change a thing kind of funny was scared when I was a kid but now I seem to have fallen for the hidden gems of small time horror. Still hate the banshee scream in the headset though!
It kinda sad how at some bits you can almost still hear the old Oakville song just as it fades way once more taken over by death and sadness
Btw its Oakvale, just a heads up!
@@TheFableHistorian thanks i knew i f it when i saw it again just know. And i dont mean this in a rude why i realy do mean thank you
Everytime I reach wraithmarsh, I always feel like I'm at a cemetery visiting my beloved ones... Gives me such sadness...

I still dread Wraithmarsh whenever I play Fable 2.

It’s even more dreadful because it used to be such a vibrant and thriving village in Fable 1.
This game made me feel so much emotions as a kid, this game is art

I agree with you 100%. Dark fantasy needs a strong comeback. I’m tired of nice, comical fantasy.
My favorite place in Fable 2
I just love the music and the atmosphere.
Same here, walking through this place, makes you want to kno all it's secrets and history
I realize Im kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?

another fall with ambience courtesy of the fable historian-- thank you again my friend
Good to see fable history being kept alive
I love going there to hunt banshees the music creepy but sets the tone of the area
Thankyou for making these, Fable 2 is my fave and though I could play it for the ambience it's nice to just chill with the audio instead :)

This place scared the living hell out of me as a child.... Still kinda does.... Especially the knights abarrant demon door....
They use the same village for the cursed snowglobe quest
Yes! Because it was originally oakvale from the first game which is my favourite by far
Listening to this as I write

Great for immersing youself in your writing, ngl I'm currently doing the same lmfao
Much needed thanks
Man this places gives me nightmares, I especially get scared when I hear that banshee screech😬
If Microsoft was smart, they’d drop Fable 2 then later 3 on Steam to build hype for the new Fable.
