It's kind of hilarious just seeing a Space Marine casually hanging around people wearing shorts and t-shirts.
Chill marine
i had to laugh when he didn't wear his boots :D it looked so hilarious like some crazy char from borderlands or something :D
Working with Richard, Boman, Erik and the gang was truly amazing and I am glad that (even though I can’t act for crap) we got it in the can as they say. It was an awesome ride and I hope we get a chance to do more.
You looked awesome man! Excellent work on the armour!
Fantastic stuff. The real grunt work of making movies. Awesome costume
Well done. Yes, please do more of this.
I cross my Fingers for you Guys. I have enjoyed this Masterpiece. Again and again. I Hope We get more from you.
Your cosplay was amazing. You really looked like one of the Emperor's Angel's of Death!
Guardsman behind the scenes:
"Well the main struggle we faced was not a shortage of canidates, no. The main issue faced was that the commissar found that almost each one of our guardsman actors had volunteered to act so they wouldn't be put on the front line. because of all the executions the turnover rate was incredible and we had to hire interns for cleanup duties."
Damn. Give me one moment in private with that commissar... fifteen minutes will suffice.
The space marine without the stilts is the best thing I've seen this year, by far
at first when I saw that scene I didn't see that he didn't have the stilts and was wondering why the space marine suddenly got short and chunky
@@Ekajje Space Marine Ratling? 🤷🏻♂️😁
I really wish GW would hire you to make an official live action movie.
The problem with a live action would be that it would cost so much money and time to make the uniforms and armor suits. A live action Astartes movie would literally take half the budget in costuming alone.
@@heliosretro4545 GW has done an animated movie an that is expansive.
I heard someone suggest a tv series that way you have a larger budget and once the costumes are completed they can be reused and repainted depending on the chapter your focusing on that episode
@@mikeloeven Yes I would love that.
You could also save money on the costuming by doing the series in a similar style to a dark heresy game where instead of focusing on massive battles it follows an inquisitor around from hive world to hive world rooting out heresy and focusing more on political intrigue. You can still have space marines show up for when the cultists inevitably manage to summon a daemon the PDF cant handle
25:21 I didn't know there were Squats in the Astartes
Wow, the costumes are immense!
dr-nerd how did they even make that space marine costume, it’s so perfect
9:00 if i was the makeup artist, i would take that as a compliment.
If your work is enough to trigger people's blood reactions, you're doing something right.
Love it, I hope GW has watched this and does something good with you, mate, you deserve it!
Hey Chapter master, didn’t know you watched this amazing film maker. The holy emperor of man kind is pleased by his work
A great Chapter Master should always keep an eye out for talent in the Emperor’s glorious name to help spread the deeds of our glorious Imperium. And you have not disappointed
GW would probably shut them down to be frank, they don't play nice.
Have you seen the A.O.D. trailer on Warhammer Community bro?! Guess who's behind it? (Wink wink )
@@vbllc7 He LITERALLY just released a video on it. Gonna be fucking lit.
YAY CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING TO PARTNER WITH GAMESWORKSHOP AND MAKING ANGELS OF DEATH!!!
You're making a Blood Angels animated series with GW backing it? WHOOOO!!!
No wonder the short was soo good. It was a labor of love involving many talented people. Much appreciation and respect ✊
19:05 - This looks so sweet. Two friends trying their best to understand each other and making a good punch scene. Sweaty Terry doing a great job :D You'all doing Emperor's job!
Actually that I think about this. It could become a great movie about human and his Astartes friend.
Yo GW, GIVE THIS MAN A FETHING LICENSE! Maybe some funding to.
This video saved my life literally gave me the strength to keep going in my real life . The whole empor protects after seeing him face the horde alone with the injured leg gave me the strength to keep going in real life . This video I play all the time .
This movie is so great. Everyone who worked on it should be commended for doing such a fantastic job.
I thought Guardsman was awesome when I saw it a few weeks ago. I had no idea, no idea how much work had gone into making it. I thought it was all (really slick) CGI except the Imperial Guard soldier! Wow, I am impressed! If there is ever a 40K movie it has to be about the IG for sure. Make us a Giants Ghost short next!
I do love this piece. My best moment when the voice said: "They shall known NO FEAR"
I can’t believe you had a full black Templar armour, I thought it was a cgi model. Great work
The Space Marine in this video is actually not a black Templar. The Space Marine in this video is from a Dark Angels successor chapter called the angels of vengeance
lukethecell comments really I sort of thought it was a black Templar, thanks for pointing it out
its not black templar REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yup. I’m an A of V.
Yes that's a dark angel but bad ass all the way
3 heretics were harmed in the making of this production
4c1dr3fl3x I can live with that.
Not enough.
Beautiful work man, very great
Not only did I greatly enjoy the movie-short as-presented; I also greatly enjoyed this 'making-of' short film.
Well Done cast and crew!!
The Emperor Protects!
Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell, NZ.
Has James Cameron seen this think he loves his Space Marines going waay beyond wishfull thinking but could you imagine a collab!
Should have left the Pauldron launch in there the codex astartes supports this manoeuvre.
Baby legs marine needs his own spinoff.
#becosplayforge I want to see how you freaking made those bendable stilts, those are freaking awesome work.
Wolf Hammer jump over to my Facebook page. Lots there on the construction and more to come.
Rich, man, you are my hero. May the Emperor's Light guide you to success and glory!
That space marine armor is PERFECT
That armor is amazing!
Fuckin hell the marine looks so good!
I hope you go down in history as one of the greats of art and cinema. You are an inspiration, keep it up, and for the sake of art itself, do not stop making these masterpieces!
25:15 He skipped leg day lol
That armor is probably my favorite bit of this whole thing.
thats the sickest costume ever
Brilliant look at the handwork behind the scenes . .It gives you an idea of what it would be like to face an Astarte s in reality, well done.Richard and to everyone else associated this great short movie..GW stop holding out and get these talented people involved in bringing Warhammer 40K to our screens!!
Seeing the transformation from an Oompa Loompa into a Space Marine is rather fascinating I gotta say!
Amazing Job. You can tell there is a lot of passion in this and excitement in the filming with Richard.
That last scene 🤣🤣🤣 amazing behind the scenes 🤩
the last bit without the stilts cracked me up, i laughed like a lunatic
Martin Brieger .......but it felt soooooo good!
Oh my god that munchkin marine at the end!!! XD
That is amazing!! :D
And now I have to watch it again another 20 times :)
thank you man, thank you. great job, i hope guardsman repays itself and you get enough attention for further projects. this is a great service to the emperor, and people will remember it for eons to come.
I've actually watched the complete product and it was amazing. Loved everything about it. thanks a bunch
you've done a great deed I talked to a custodes the other day and he said the Emperor was very pleased good job brother Boylan and remember the Emperor protects!
Awesome just plain awesome. Richard your an inspiration to all if us other Canadian 40k fans. Man I would love to do this
Space Marine just chillin' with a bunch of dudes in shorts.
It would be amazing to see an indepth video about the Space Marine costume, that thing is absolutely amazing
Helsreach is an awesome movie and book. I highly recommend them
The costumes are amazing! Great job really well done thank you for the hard work!
Wonderful work, a piece of art, a gift for the whole community.
In a way I enjoyed this just as much as the movie itself. A ton of passion and hard work on display here, with the product to boot. Great job to everyone involved.
More of this please.
This is awesome
GW just announced an animated serious from the team that did Helsreach. They are talking about Richard Boylan right??
It's a lot of fun watching you guys behind the scenes. I look forward to doing one of these myself one day =)
We need, we want a movie!
So cool! The emperor approves of this
Riiiiichh!! Are you doing the Blood Angels!?!?? Is that youuuuu!!?? If so... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
That was great the way you taught him what looked good in the movement of the costume !
HEY! THANKS for this little taste of the time and energy that goes into a really cool snippet that really delivers the stuff of dreams! I had the first edition rule book (revised?), with the Emperor on the cover. I still have the space Combat Cards. I went to Games Workshop, USA in 1993, that was in Santa Monica. My miniatures were made of lead. I should have known that there’d be some really creative and talented people who who had interests in the same things that captivated my interest. I could have been a really great 3D studio max object renderer / re-rasterer / contributer. OH THEY GOT STILTS, one riddle down! I LOVED painting the models, and dressing up tabletops, not so much the actual playing. They all just look SO BADASS. I’m really happy for you to have got to do this, because GW OBVIOUSLY means something to you and has opened your eyes to some things. Very fulfilling it is to give back and open someone else’s eyes too! THANKS AGAIN!!
and the journey continues.. many thanks
You want kidding, when you said it took alot of time. Ace work!
Looking forward to the last of Black Reach.
Whoa this is awesome I will wait when is finished and ready to watch in CZcams this is going to be the first Warhammer 40k movie adaptation of all time by the Emperor hell yeah
It is already out though. It is a short film he published last month or so

What you made was absolutely Epic!

That is really awe inspiring
That tiny space marine is ridiculous
@@gavinferguson Did you see the video? I was talking about that part where he is jumping around without the leg extensions making it look like he's half way stuck into the ground
@@gavinferguson Also I neither have the equipment nor the materials nor the time nor the money... I really would build one if I could
Nick Kohlmann They has a limited amount of time, money, and materials too. They did the best they could
@@max4750 why does nobody understand what I am referring to? Watch the video, there's a part in the end where he's jumping around without the leg parts
No punctuation man .
25:15 Behold: Little Battle Brother.
That last bit looks like Tyrion in Power Armour
nice work!!!!
Awesome to see very little was CG. Practical effects for the win.
Amazing stuff
прекрасная работа!
The guardsman delivered. It looks like the actor doesnt really know about the IP, but boy did he displayed the right amount of fear and hope. Awesome!
Man, that's a lot of fucking work!

VRTXProductions I know I’m short but.........
thank you for all the effort put into making this! Imagine a full movie that could be about anything in the W40K universe. That'd be fucking brutal :P
Woah, woah woah, it's been a month since guardsman dropped? Holy crap, my sense of time is totally skewed
its a beautiful thing!!!
Wohoo FIRST AND ONLY !
Tanith Guardsmen are overrated. Harakoni Warhawks lead the way.
"Seeing Grand Theft Auto 5 in real life"
[Laughs in San Andreas]
I would like to wear that suit of armor in a funeral
