Drums, guitars, bass, vocals all showcased perfectly. I agree Haraguchi-san is a blast to watch live she is always in her zone. Tamu what can I say always stands out. Saki & Hazuki never disappoint. Mayu and those vocals astounding.
Pretty much they are all amazing. Haraguchi is amazing on stage. Tamu is legendary for sure!

They really are great and they put on a hell of a live show, thats for sure! This song in particular is amazing because its filled with emotion and there is such a good message, I really enjoy songs like this.
I consider myself very lucky to have the opportunity to see them. I am sure they will be heading to Europe soon after touring in the US.

Yes for sure! Getting out and chatting with everyone is awesome! Its nice to put some faces to the names I see all the time in the comment section. Of course chatting about previous shows is always awesome as well. Its pretty cool to run into the same people at different band shows. The best people are always at the BAND-MAID and NEMOPHILA shows :)
Yeah Tiffatron was there but we were split up a bit for a while. I was going up and down the lines chatting with people. My mom was also very popular chatting with people, haha. I think Tiffatron was chatting with quite a few people as well. I remember at the LA BAND-MAID show we barely saw each other in line since she was getting photos taken pretty much the whole time before the show. Even after that show she was getting pulled left and right haha.
There are just so many people its difficult to meet up with everyone.

This song is amazing! This band just keeps making hit after hit! I went to the SF and LA shows and they were both great shows! I’m also going to the Dallas show. I talked you in line for both Nemophila LA shows and the Band-Maid show and you definitely don’t talk to much. I never get to talk to anyone about Japanese music in my normal life so it’s always a good time talking to everyone in line.

I dont think enough people mention her or the work she puts in. I mean I get it when you have such legendary talent surrounding her but she really is a hard worker and puts on a hell of a show. She always works the stage hard and gets the crowd going!

Please join more reactions, Tiffatron! Nemophila is one of my new favorite bands. I really want to see them in NYC next week, but I don't think it's going to work out. Watching fan videos of the shows, I noticed how active Haraguchi san was, so thanks for confirming that. Hard to pick a favorite, but she might be it for me. This song confirms that Nemophila owns the "daily affirmation metal" subgenre 😉

I do hope you get a chance to go to that show, NEMOPHILA puts on a hell of a show thats for sure. Yes, I am totally confident in saying Haraguchi works harder than anyone. Her stage presence is insane! Shes always smiling and interacting with the crowd too, just so fun to watch. Ill be posting my footage from the LA show probably next week, just waiting for the live stream that NEMOPHILA is selling to be taken down.

Wow, you guys caught this just on time with the concert! These girls just keep on getting intense! I love the random break up they did on Mayu's 1st dream scream. you know we all love when Mayu transitions from Heavy to clean, its a hook in itself when she does it everytime! in Rise, Mayu really gets beautifully rhythmic, and i feel the emotion, very cool! Saki can rip that axe! damn. The video is excellent, not over the top, I LOVE that transition 07:12 another lucious hook...Hazuki n Saki's background vocals soo haunting. I really think this might be one of their most beautiful works. I wonder who the painter was? really cool idea having that in the MV. Overall the MV rates well with me, they kept it single staged, it was focused, the effects quite appropriate, again never over the top. really like this one Shred.

Yeah! The song came out on the night of the show we went to so it worked out for us to both check out the new song. Mayu is just incredible. The clean vocals had me hooked instantly! I really enjoyed the MV it was simple but effective. Yeah I was wondering about the guy painting as well, it was very interesting.

Nemophila never misses! Every member is super-skilled, and for me Tamu's drumming really stands out on this track. Through all this song's change-ups, she's perfectly on timing, with superb tone and jaw-dropping technique on her fills. She's every bit that precise and powerful live, too. Can't wait to hear this one in a live setting.
And yeah: Mayu is not just a wonderful "two-way" singer, she's a "weapon of mass charisma" on stage. I was also at last year's Whisky a Go Go show and caught the San Francisco stop on the latest tour, and they were two of the finest front person performances I've ever seen. Hell, a couple of the best _concerts_ I've ever seen.
Yeah they are all insanely talented! Tamu is really just a legendary drummer. I am also very eager to hear/see this one live. They are going to blow the roof off of venues with this one!
Mayu really is an incredible vocalists, one of my favorites for sure. She has a very powerful voice with an very large range. Its crazy how easily she can switch between screaming/growling to such beautiful clean vocals. I would agree, their live shows are among the best I have ever seen. The Whisky show as incredible, the LA show was also very good and so much fun!
There is no way to describe how talented this group is. I watched them last night live and I’m seeing them in 3, or possibly 4 more concerts. My biggest regret was not seeing them in Japan on my recent trip. It was simply a scheduling thing. They don’t have the fan base; YET, in the US that has heard of them. There is zero question about their rising popularity, or talent. I wish they were some sort of financial stock, because I’m in on the ground floor and would make a killing.

I was lucky enough to see them at the Whisky and then just one more time in LA. I cannot wait to see them again! It would be awesome to see them in Japan for sure! I cannot wait till I can go back to Japan. I was hoping to visit next month but its not going to work out unfortunately.
They are for sure starting to gain popularity here and even the people at the shows that have never heard of them were floored!

I am glad you enjoy that video. I wanted to share with people how awesome they are live since at the time there was not much live footage. Ill for sure be uploading my video next week or so. NEMOPHILA currently has a ticket for which includes live footage from the LA show so I am waiting for that sale to conclude before I post my video.
What ill say is, the Whisky show felt like it was them coming out swinging. I mean Mayu did say they were going to kick our ass haha. In this show, it just seemed like they were more relaxed and having a good time. Not that they didnt seem like they enjoyed the Whisky show, this show just felt different. Its tough to explain ^^

@@Shreddawg Yup, they caught you, your mom and Tiffatron, at least a couple of times. I'm happy that you were all able to go together. I kind of wonder if Mayu is making up for lost time after being gone on maternity leave for a while. She's definitely been working hard. I saw in a Young Guitar interview with Saki and Hazuki that they had to concentrate on being more precise and accurate with their playing with their latest album. I couldn't help but wonder, how?

I gotta tell you, I sure think she is. The screaming she was doing was unlike anything I heard at the Whisky show. It was INSANE! Ill get my live video out after the stream they are selling goes away.
@@Shreddawg If I remember correctly, Mayu would have been about 7 months pregnant at the Whiskey show, so that may have been slowing her down a bit. I've also been noticing that their last two music videos have had all of them wearing much baggier clothes and somewhat less revealing clothes to support Mayu. She may still be a little self-conscious about her weight gain during pregnancy. She still looks really good to me, but I may be a bit biased.
She didnt really even seem pregnant and she was still running around the stage and really just going nuts lol.

During the San Francisco show Haraguchi-san tripped over a monitor, sat on it, got up and never missed a note, and it looked like Haraguchi-san was fine. It was an amazing show too.
I saw a video of that! Its incredible how nothing can stop them! They are all just having such a good time on stage too. Haraguchi works the stage harder than anyone!

It's all nothing compared to real problems. Already in the first song at the first concert (Roseville) Saki's guitar stopped playing (power?). The technician ran around, corrected something, and she started playing. The same thing happened to Hazuki in Trooper right before her solo. Saki did a great job and the three of them finished:

There were still problems with transport. The equipment flew on another plane, some car with the equipment broke down, and probably other things. As a reward, Herman Li visited them in their rented house in San Diego. My hit of the tour so far is the instrumental cover of MSG - Into the Arena. The tone of Saki's guitar knocked me out. Yeah they have had a lot of issues for sure. Even at the Whisky show Saki was having issues with her amp, the techs were working on it all night. Despite all the issues they run into, they still put on a hell of a show with a smile on their faces.
Theyve done some really cool songs for sure. The instrumental version of "The Trooper" was a lot of fun. I really found myself enjoying "Night Flight" as well, that song is just so damn fun to hear live!

Cool reaction 👍 I was never into screaming before as well, but now, I'm actually tolerating and enjoying them. But like you it needs to be balanced. The groups I listen to with screaming usually have a screamer then a very nice clean vocals to balance it out. I need to give this song more listen to. TBH it's not grabbing me right away like their other previous songs.
Ive always had a love/hate relationship with screaming. Reminds me of my highschool days when everything was about the hardcore/emo/screamo bands lol. Yeah pretty much a good balance is important for me.
Oh wow really? I immediately felt hooked in with this one. Mayu's clean vocals sealed the deal for me early into the song. I thought the MV was really cool too. A simple but effective MV.
@@Shreddawg I think I've dropped a couple suggestions regarding bands with screamers before such as Messgram and Synsnake from Korea. But there's also Inchaos and Instinct of Sight from China. I don't think you've reacted to Saiseiga yet have you? Besides Nemophila they are one of my favorite Japanese band that plays very heavy, intense music. Regan kinda growls more than screams, but her clean vocals are pretty good as well.

Huh, really? Never considered that. I typically listen to classical music/arrangements (Chopin, Kreisler, Rachmaninoff, etc.) while working. I need something to help de-stress haha. Never considered listening to it while working out.
This song is a "commercial" (in a good way) BANGER!! Perfect timing to release it while on their US tour. Good insights on the song and on your critique of their performance at the Echoplex. Agree that it is rare to find two bands (Nemophila and Band Maid) where the live experience surpasses the studio. Met you briefly while in the waiting line and my wife thanks you for the BOSS coffee.
I agree, I think the song will do well with the US tour. I am glad you enjoyed our comments on the show. I plan to do a full show analysis with my mom soon as she was at this show and the Whisky a gogo show as well.
Yes, it is very rare to find bands like this. It is incredible what they are capable of in a live environment. NEMOPHILA just played 2 shows back to back with very little rest and they still gave it 100% at the LA show.
I know exactly who you are, you had a very nice BAND-MAID jacket if I remember correctly. I am happy she enjoyed the coffee! I have been a fan of BOSS coffee since the first time I visited Japan and I try and share my love for Japan, Japanese Music, and Coffee as often as I can!

@@Shreddawg Hi John! Well, let me start off with the 9th. On the table next to mine, sat 3 women. The lady age 70, was dragged to the concert by her two sons, in their 40's. Her sons were somewhere in the front. The lady next to her was her sister-in-law who was 73. The other was her daughter-in-law who was 45. This was their first time hearing about Nemophila. Another lady, age 67, dragged her boyfriend, age 76, in tow. She saw Nemophila at the Whisky, last year; and had to see them again. When Tamu launched into her solo, all of these ladies were screaming "Tamu,Tamu,Tamu" over and over again. On the 9th, the oldest person I met was an 81 year old retired guitarist. The youngest, a 13 year old girl, whose older college student sister brought her. I got caught in the rain Friday, but got back to SA. 5 AM., Monday, I was on the road to Houston. The bad Cali weather followed me. On Tuesday, I got in the line at the Scout Bar at 11:30 am. The fans there developed a system of numbering the attendees, so you could leave the line to use the facilities, or get something to eat; and not lose your place in line. My number was 18. The system worked very well. Nemophila showed up around 2:30. They completed their sound check by 4:45. Then, their 2 opening bands showed up. The equipment door kept closing on them, and the Roadies asked us for help to keep the doors open. Where upon, I assisted. When I turned around, Tamu was standing directly in front of me, within 18 inches of my person. Hazuki and Haraguchi-San were standing to the side of Tamu, laughing. But, Tamu just stood there calmly and smiled. I handed Tamu that proposal to have Nemophila and The Warning play together in San Antonio, and she accepted it. Later, during the performance, Nemophila's Manager came over to my table to speak with me. So, I'm guessing, that there's a least a 50/50 chance that Nemophila will be playing with The Warning at Laurie Auditorium, next year. Say your prayers! March 14th was an evening of Magic! So, now I'm trying to figure out how to do everything I need to do to make it happen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Hang in there! Best Wishes, Always! Russ

That number system is a system thats used in japan, its a very efficient system. I have seen some people do it at BAND-MAID shows but its kind of hit at miss when you get further down the line.
