  • I lost a bunch of shots I filmed for this video. This was the best I could recover the video to make some sort of sense.

    I have the same and it's better than any new car like CRV or RAV4...Subaru's 4WD ,Ej20 turbo engine,220p horse power...I love my car.👍

    I have a 2017 wrx base. I just hit 100k. I love my car so much. It's nice seeing a true high mileage wrx. Everyone says high mileage and shows a car at 100k 😅😅😅

    Cool to see the extent of rust and your plan of attack. If I had the shop I would probably fix the rust too.

    I freak out every time I watch one of your Videos. Even though rust is not an issue where I live , it just seems that these cars are not designed to last.
    I have never removed the front fender liners because I am afraid of what I might find.

      Definitely worth a peek under front fender liners, at least clean them out and get some oil in there. Im curious to see how the none salt belt ones hold up there!

    Fantastic video! I have a 2002 WRX in Ohio that is about to hit 200k miles. She is good for the most part, but I'm planning on addressing the rust on the rockers, rear quarters, and replacing the bumper bars in the next year or so.

    is the gas tank and the floor of the car above a common corrosion spot that i should check on my 2007 impreza wagon? its in the shop right now and i have all the tools to get it done at my school, kinda has me nervous on hows mine gonna be looking like since i also live in canada

    • @TheSubieSanctuary
      @TheSubieSanctuary  Před rokem +1

      Its not a highly common spot really. The rear shock towers however are a pretty common spot though unfortunately

    What kind of mods have you done? I'm on my second bugeye wagon, the first had a JDM 205 swap and it was fairly quick. I'd like to see what you can do while still keeping it reliable as a daily 👀

    is the weld nut that the subframe gets bolted too replaceable? I came across this problem when swapping a solid STI rear subframe in a rear suspension overhaul for my SF forester

    • @TheSubieSanctuary
      @TheSubieSanctuary  Před rokem +2

      How ive dealt with it before is: once you have subframe off, then drill a hole straight up from the bottom through trunk floor (with trunk floor removed)
      This marks to spot and makes pilot hole, then use a step drill bit and make a 1” hole, remove spun nut, then use a nut and bolt for the subframe there now that you have access. Finally use a 1” rubber grommet to fill the hole through floor.

    I heard u say evap delete? Can u make a detailed video of how too and explain how it benefits? Cause if its good enough I might try it on my Bugeye

    • @TheSubieSanctuary
      @TheSubieSanctuary  Před rokem +2

      Yes for sure brother! Honestly in front of you the theory for a proper done evap delete is so simple. But trying to explain without the tank etc in front of you is hectic. I deleted the evap systems on my 05 fxt and 07 wrx. Rewarding lil cleanse up and sheds some weight and most importantly the typical evap issues we see with the old subarus

    Nice work here. I have a 2016 WRX 2.0DIT with 243k miles on it. Trying to find a WRX with higher miles and I think yours is it. Is it the original engine, trans, turbo, and head gasket? Is yours still on the road? I have a prize for the person that sent me this video, just need to know how many bonus points to give them.

    • @TheSubieSanctuary
      @TheSubieSanctuary  Před rokem +1

      Damn! Thats a lot of miles for a 2016! You will pass me pretty soon.😂
      It is original trans, the original engine never failed and was unopened and in service until 470k km, at that time it had sucked in water during a flood. It still ran but bent the valves. I replaced with v7 207.
