    Great purchase! Looks like it’s got potential

  • @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754

    doesn't look bad at all. don't forget to check the crank and connecting rod bearing. very overlooked area that takes all the load. nice thing with small square baler is its something you can fix yourself and lots of money to be had in small squares!

      Thanks, I will check that! Small squares are a pain, but in my area, its the only way to make $$ with hay.

    Very nice I had a nh575 when I first got started. Then when inline. My nh had a hydro thrower which was cool but a pain unloading the wagons it filled. Thanks for sharing.

      I agree on the unloading lol I have considered using an accumulator system, but am afraid I won't be able to do as much hay in a day.

    I forgot to mention, I do not have any instruction manual of any sort

    We have a 315, good baler I would say. Can't really ever remember having issues with it, haven't used it in a few years though and have no plans to lol.

    Looks like you got a good deal. A little elbow grease and you'll be good to go

    We used to have a 276 before we switched to rounds. Man I actually miss that thing. Looks like a good deal. Those and similar are getting up to 6000 at auctions around us.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před 5 lety

      My 276 is a good baler, just not a huge capacity machine. Wow, 6K?? I think fixed up I could get $4500 around here. If I sell it, maybe I will bring it up by you lol

    I had a 315 for a couple years. It was pretty wore out when I got it, sold it after a couple years and bought the 316 I still have. Someone told me once that they only made the 315 for a short time before it was replaced by the 316. I'm not sure what the difference is between the two. but they are very similar.

    Could you tell me the size of wheels and tires? thanks

    By the way, I tried pressure-washing the whole baler, however, after making the first couple of bales, the picture is still the same: every detail of the knotter and baler on the whole is in hay dust.

    Nice looking Baler. I’d like to see a bale thrower in action. Nobody around me has one. I’ve seen them on here. Have a good one

      With a little work it will be nice! You are welcome to come up to the cold North and help me bale hay with it LOL Have a good one!!

    Looks like a good deal, good plan to keep it as a main baler or back-up, or run both if you need to

    Gonna keep your self busy now, I had an inline with a steffen accumulator behind it and was way better than loading my hand. Lots of work either way

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před 5 lety

      It sure is a lot of work, but small squares are the only bales that bring any money around here. I am considering an accumulator of some sort, but am afraid it will cut down the number of bales I can bring home in a day. Have a good one, Wil!!

    Looks deffinitelly useable, can you show how the adjust for the thrower distance looks. Mines missing it and I'm wondering how I can cobble something together

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před 5 lety

      Sure, I can get you some info on that. Could I email you some pics? I usually just set the thrower to throw towards the back of the wagon, and slow my rpm down if I need to control the throwing distance as the wagon fills up.

    • @Heimerviewfarm
      @Heimerviewfarm Před 5 lety

      @@dehavenfamilyfarm okay I'll have to try that didn't know if throttling down a bit would affect baler performance

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před 5 lety

      @@Heimerviewfarm Don't throttle down to much. I usually bale around 1800 rpm, an the most I will drop down to is about 1500 rpm- of course it will depend on your baling speed and windrow size too. Hopefully this info is helping and not confusing you lol

    • @Heimerviewfarm
      @Heimerviewfarm Před 5 lety

      @@dehavenfamilyfarm I understand what you mean, I'm just thinking it would be easier to get an adjustment instead of having to shutting everything off to adjust the thrower distance.

  • @nyurgunbilyukin7351
    @nyurgunbilyukin7351 Před 3 lety +1

    I have one, but without the "thrower" or whatever you may call it. I make around 4000 bales a year (hay) and I haven't done anything to it yet (4 years). What should I do first? Change whatever oils, chains or what? It's not giving any trouble whatsoever, however I am a bit worried about future functioning of my baler. What is the priority focus?

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před 3 lety

      I would definitely go online and get an owners manual and a repair manual. As for what to look out for, I have have been told by many mechanics not to mess with things if the baler is working properly. Sometimes changing one part can throw off others. Just keep up with regular maintenance, which will be listed in the manual and fix it when it breaks 🙂
