I lived in the area when this went down. Helicopters flying past my apartment window at every hour. It was intense to experience to say the least.
Prof is speaking truth here. He's showing the raw reality of what was happening.

So the reason this sort of art is really important - I’m a million miles away from what went down in Minnesota. I knew something happened, but I didn’t connect with it… it wasn’t my world. Watching this, and listening to the passion in Prof’s voice made me realise just because it didn’t happen here, doesn’t mean it can’t save for a few sparks in the wrong tinder box. His music allowed me to connect through a medium that I trust and can relate to.
That’s why people like Ren and Prof are certified gems in this world of lies and distortion. Thanks so much for the reaction and doing your part in spreading the message ✊

Yeah Floyd was murdered in South Minneapolis where prof is from. I lived in South Minneapolis about a half mile from the 3rd precinct that got burned down. Things were insane in Minneapolis St Paul that summer I can tell you.
Prof lived on the same block as that precinct.

My daughter and I participated in a rally and march for George Floyd/BLM. No one deserves to be murdered just because of their skin color. I make a point of living my life spreading love everywhere I go, and standing up against injustice and hate.

I was in St.Paul leaving the ER the day the riots started. all public transportation and businesses in the surrounding cities were shut down. I still remember the WSP Walmart filled with swat vehicles like when there was a hostage situation in the other side of SSP. We were put on marital law for 72H I believe. Sadly my physical condition at the time kept me from walking during the riots but I enjoyed watching all my close friends and family out there supporting. It was a very emotional time for all of the US not just the TwinCities.

Since I haven't seen anyone else recommend this song let me. Criminal - Prof is (pun intended) criminally under-rated. An extremely gorgeous song to be sure.

About the slave thing, Prof is a white guy, but he grew up in a poor black community. When he talks about his family that came as slaves, hes talking about his brothers and sisters fighting the system, not necessarily his real family
