Perhaps Hayden was miscast at the time, but he’s definitely grown into the role. If there’s one thing the Disney+ shows did right, it was giving him opportunity to return to the role as a more experienced actor. I still don’t understand the hate that Topher Grace gets as Eddie Brock. I know he’s not comically accurate, but I don’t think that’s what Sam Raimi was going for. He was trying to make a story of Peter becoming Flash Thompson, and he made Eddie Brock the nerd who Peter would bully. So, Eddie Brock in Spider-Man 3 is supposed to feel like another Peter. As a result, Topher Grace does a great job as the snarky photographer. If you want further details on why I think it works, check out Gubz’s video where he defends Spider-Man 3.

Now some of these are bad castings, Holland & Wahlberg as Nathan and Sully, Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, The Last Airbender cast. But then some like Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Henry Cavill as Superman, even Hayden Christiansen as Anakin felt more like they had potential but were let down by bad writing. Even with you mentioning Ewan McGregor, yeah he was under the same direction and still did fine, but he also didn’t have some of the worst dialogue in the prequels.

Here are my reactions to these Worst Casting Picks:
1: As someone who grew up with the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, mainly Revenge of the Sith, I have always had a lot of love and nostalgia for those films.
While far from perfect, I still respect what George Lucas was trying to do and I’d even say that all 3 films are light years ahead of the majority of Disney’s Star Wars!
As for Hayden Christensen, I don’t think he was as bad as some people make him out to be. I think a lot of it does come down to the writing from Lucas, but I would say that Christensen is far better in Revenge of the Sith than Attack of the Clones!
Since the prequels, I think that Hayden has really grown into the role and by improving on his craft, he has finally become accepted and beloved by fans.
2: I agree with your thoughts on this one Sean.
George Clooney is basically Bruce Wayne in real life so I’d say the casting was almost pitch perfect BUT the film as a whole is straight up BAD!
Ultimately, I feel as if Clooney was the right Batman in the wrong film.
3: I don’t really have any real connection to The Last Airbender franchise so I wouldn’t really know if the whole cast was horribly miscast or not. All I know is that the 2010 film was pretty bad!
4: I personally do not like Brie Larson anyway so I would definitely say that she was the wrong choice to play Captain Marvel. I can’t quite put my finger on it but she just doesn’t have any likability or charisma whatsoever that makes you want to root for her or even care about her as this character.
We are three films in now with her as this character and it still isn’t working!
5: As a big fan of the Uncharted game series, I 100% agree that both Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are horribly miscast here!
I do like both actors in general but they do not resemble Nathan Drake and Sully in any way whatsoever.
The funny thing though is that I do think that Marky Mark would have been better cast as Nate, and Tom could have played him as a kid in some flashback scenes which could have worked out better than what we got!
6: As much as I actively despise Jared Leto’s Joker and the original Suicide Squad film, I do still believe that Leto could have been a good Joker if it wasn’t for the direction that David Ayer chose to go with. But everything about Leto’s Joker is just WRONG!
7: I have never seen Bram Stoker's Dracula so I can’t comment on this one.
8: I am an active defender of Spider-Man 3 to be honest. I don’t think it is nearly as bad as many people make it out to be!
It has its issues but I still think it delivers a satisfying conclusion to that trilogy of Spider-Man films.
I also have never really understood the hate for Topher Grace as Venom either.
I think he delivered exactly what the film was supposed to convey, he was the Anti-Peter. He was basically what Peter would have ended up being if he didn’t remove the Black Suit.
9: Those Hot Take choices are madness!
10: While I was initially nervous about Will Smith playing the Genie, he ended up really surprising me and quickly became easily the best part of the whole film!
11: Before Man of Steel, I was never really a Superman fan. But it was Henry Cavill who made me the Superman fan I am today. I think he was perfectly cast and it’s such a shame that he wasn’t used to the fullness of his potential.
12: Stephen Amell as Casey Jones in a live action Turtles film should work but for whatever reason it doesn’t!
13: While I don’t completely hate the Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice as much as seemingly everyone else does, I do agree that Jesse Eisenberg was horribly miscast here!

Im gonna get crucified for this but Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Most of the love for him is nostalgia. He looked way too old in 2002 to have been cast to play a 17 year old, and lacks the charisma, charm, and quipiness that define Spider Man in the comics. He was just meek, stiff, and awkward for the whole trilogy except for when he has the symbiote suit.
I think they overcorrected with Andrew Garfield and made him too cool (but that's still more entertaining than too meek), and got the perfect mix with Tom Holland. It helps that he finally actually looked like a teenager too. His performance is way closer to Yuri Lowenthal's in the PS4 games and most of the good animated shows than Tobey or Andrew were

Here me out, I don't understand the hate that the Uncharted movie gets, as a fan of the games, I was a little confused on them casting Spider-Man as Nathan Drake and then casting Wahlberg as Sully. I didn't know what to expect from the movie after I saw the trailers. I saw the movie opening night with my brother, who is also a fan. I thought the movie was a good attempt at trying the adapt the games, as I thoroughly enjoyed the film. I thought Holland did the best job he could as Nathan Drake, it could be better, don't get me wrong, but I thought he captured the look and personality of Young Nate very well. But... Wahlberg as Sully was..... a little disappointing. I thought he at least got the outline of Sully's attitude and the look kinda right, but he is little dry as Sully. I do know that 10 years ago, he was supposed to play Nate, but as the movie stalled, he aged out of the role. Then, there was that fan film in 2018 starring Nathan Fillion as Drake. He was great, but he's too old. They cast Holland because he's still young and could play the character for 5, 10 years. In conclusion, they shoulda cast Fillion as Drake, and got like Robert De Niro to play Sully, but as the film we got was a prequel with young versions of Nate and Sully, I thought it was decent.

He doesn’t look like the established design for Casey Jones at all, He was too old to play Casey even back then, and to say that just because Oliver Queen and Casey Jones are both vigilantes, and it should therefore be an easy transition for Amell is just not true, as they are very different characters on a lot of there fundamental levels.
