This is the 1992 Nissan Safari Granroad, and it is an off-road BEAST. Powered by a 4.2 Liter Straight 6 cylinder gasoline engine, the Nissan Safari(Patrol) is a legendary off-roader up there in the ranks with the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Jeep Wrangler.

My friend's boyfriend/fiance drives a 1995 Nissan Safari as his daily drive vehicle. She herself just drives a small Chevrolet Sonic.
Whenever I see his car in the office car park, it always looks just so out of place as all the other cars there are like the Prius, Aqua/Prius-C, Cruze, small hatchbacks (like my Hyundai Getz), Yaris/Echo, Honda Fit, Teslas, MINI Coopers, Nissan Leaf, Suzuki Swifts, BMWs, etc.
Then again, he does regularly drive out to the countryside/farm to visit and helpout his parents so his vehicle makes sense in that regard.

They are super popular here in nz. I have 2 of them, easy to work on simple to mod and so much you can do with them. I have built a touring / camping rig from my td42 +t long wheel base high top like the one you have, and am currently building a winch comp rig from my 2 door aswell

My dad got one of these in 1997. It's a big, heavy SUV that felt like a dinosaur at that time, but I guess that's because it's already been around since 1987. Still, good to see the Patrol as an alternative to the Land Cruver.
