- So looking forward to Ghost headlining the opus stage at Download Festival in 2023. What a Fantastic show and the amount of people trying to get to see them means surley next time they have to be given the opportunity to headline the main stage in future!!

Download dropped a major clanger not having these on the main stage. I wasn’t a fan up until yesterday but I am now absolutely brilliant
Caught them in Manchester last year - more an event than a gig, wouldn’t hesitate to go and see them again 👍🎸
@David Stoddard I'm a huge Metallica fan and thrash in general, so I was there for them, really. My mates all bang on about Ghost, but I just didn't get it
After seeing them yesterday on a whim, I listened to them all day today, and it clicked so good
Andy copping was standing with all the photographers as they came on! I think he new they should have been on the main stage looking at that wall off people over to the big wheel!!
I saw them in Manchester last year and I knew it would be a big crown for download especially after there rise in the rock music industry
If its still like it used to be, the band or its label are the ones that must negotiate where they will be put in the set list durin festivals. Some fight hard, some don't, some take a decent paycut. There are some feats that you have to have made to get the headliner spots though, such as being on or just have completed a stadium/arena tour.
These guys and gals should be headlining one of the nights on main stage. They have the songs, huge set and charisma to burn !

They have everything but the music, absolutely subpar quality, they’d be NOTHING, without all the ridiculous mumbo jumbo nonsense they cover themselves with. 😂😂😂

As an Old Swede, what to say...Forge and his Ghouls is a Genius way of thinking. Their Music captures most age groups in their own way..🙏❤
First time seeing them and i love their boiling pot of styles that they create from. Haven’t stopped playing their stuff since i got home!😉

i genuinely believe GHOST will headline next year.Friends and family of mine that are not into rock music have heard of the band.I see they have hit the top 5 in the UK chart with the new EP.That speaks volumes.

Was there with my 16 year old daughter. When she first started playing her Ghost CD in the car I was wondering what the hell i was listening to...fast forward 8 months, wow, I am a fan. Great show, sounded just like they do on CD, probably better actually. Amazing atmosphere. We were there 3 hours early for the show, was 4 rows back, well worth the wait. Best band by far. What a show!
Evanescence were fantastic too.
That live wall of sound just takes it to another level doesn’t it! Within Temptation and Epica were also brilliant!👊
@@neilmartin1335 I was mainly there to keep my 16 year old safe, (I didn't want to leave her with thousands of moshers) I like Metallica, Evanescence and softer metal that you can sing along to but it not really 'my scene'. However, I must say we felt totally safe, my daughter felt like she finally belonged (after years of being bullied for her 'gothic' ways) I was there in jeans and t-shirt, middle aged mother and didn't feel uncomfortable or threatened in any way. You wouldn't get that if a rock person turned up to a dance festival, they would be looked at differently. I'm so glad to have been part of it, looking forward to next year. Over 100,000 people and we felt safe, included and didn't see any trouble. I've seen worse at a football match. Great atmosphere and I'm happy to have had any misconceptions proved wrong x

They’ve created a big buzz around them since their latest album! I’m an old Git and love all the theatrics, not really something a lot of the newer young bands do!👊

Ghost was the closing act at the Festival Stage for Sweden Rock Festival this year, Festival Stage being the biggest of the 4 stages at SRF. They were phenomenal and drew as big a crowd as Iron Maiden the night before.
It seems that there's a sizable overlap in the fanbases

This made me giggle because I missed out seeing Metallica at Reading festival in 2008 as I was heavily pregnant, my husband went and has always promised we would go together at some point. For various reasons we hadn't managed it till now, and this time we got to take our now 14 year old with us, made it even more special! Good luck with everything, hope you can take your little one to see Ghost sometime xx

I adore Ghost. They are my favourite band and I am so glad I got to see them at Download. They never fail to put on an incredible show with excellent stage presence, staging and sets. I can't wait to be attending my next ritual 🖤 I do believe they are worthy of headlining the main stage. Ghost isn't just a band, when you discover the lore and the characters it's so much more than just a band and just the music and that is part of the reason why I love them so much ❤️🔥
Ghost NEVER dissapoints!!
a real mixed bag these guys - one minute very death metal sounding, next minute sing-a-long catchy songs that have you dancing, they encompass the metal/rock spectrum - something for everyone. I guess the devil really does have all the best tunes lol
My kids can't wait to get into the car in the mornings and listen to them 😂
Headliners on main stage in two years time me thinks. A proper show. Prog pop,rock, and metal. We were stood in the middle of this crowd ,it was electric.
Salvation is at hand when the Church of satan preaches to the Download masses! My first time seeing Ghost and they sounded even better live. Definitely ready to take the top spot, absolutely love their Music, image and fun theatrics!👍

I saw Metallica with Ghost supporting at Twickenham. Tobias is a genius.
Well - Download Festival 2023!!! Ghost were at their usual, magnificent, spectacular best, in front of an excitable and adoring audience. The classic opener "Kaisarion", "Spillways", "Watcher in the Sky" and especially, the anthemic "Year Zero" sent the crowd into raptures of delight. The surprise inclusion of "Jesus He Knows Me" certainly got the fans dancing! Of course it was Slipknot's day, but at this rate, Ghost will headline this monstrous festival in the very near future!

I never record shows as I'm usually too busy living in the moment. But I'm grateful for people like you that can do both and provide other people with the opportunity to watch it back or watch it for the first time if they didn't make the show. What a performance though, the mix was the best of the weekend by far. Sounded incredible

Why oh why not on the main stage !!!!!! But fair play to Ghost, there aced it and played a heavy set to keep Downlaod happy, just wish id been close but had to slip away for Slipknot. Headliners next year for sure

What have they got to do to headline the main stage, because they really should have. Surely in the not so distant future they will. Avenged Sevenfold, BMTH, Ghost and others are the future of this festival.
Sadly you’re true about avenged, their old stuff is great, since rev died they’ve been pretty naff musically

Thankfully they didn't clash but if you stayed for the full ghost set you had no chance getting close for slipknot

Gutted couldn't get to the second stage to see this. Wanted to watch Parkway Drive and couldn't get anywhere near second stage after that. Only now decided to torture myself and watch the 'this is what you could have won' highlights. Thanks for the upload, fingers crossed for a main stage slot in the near future.
Had to make the tough call to miss parkway to get a decent view of ghost! i hate having to miss one of my favourite bands just to be able to get in place for a band on the second stage! The second stage is too narrow when it’s this busy, time for a rethink on stage layout. I personally think the stage needs to rotate to the right looking out from the stage 90’ against all the food stalls looking out over to the big wheel!?
@@neilmartin1335 they definitely need to do something. Thought they would have learned after Babymetal in 2018. Dogtooth stage location needs changing as well. The stage is at the top of the gradient so it would be like the main stage being where the big wheel was this year. Literally flipped a coin to choose who to watch as couldn't decide between the two. Hopefully next time either band are there, they will be on main stage, possibly headlining even.
I was there, would have been great if they could have replaced Clutch on the main stage. They, unfortunately had a very poor performance. Loads of issues with their in ear monitors I think.

I missed ghost because I watched Parkway on main stage and thought it would be too long to get good place for Ghost then get back for Slipknot so thanks for this really appreciate it
My biggest regret over the weekend was not seeing Parkway!!! This was the first time I’d seen Ghost and like you said i new I’d never get round to the second stage in time so something had to give! Ghost were fantastic but i saw Parkway at Alexander Palace and new what I was missing!!🤘

Yeah, we were there 4 hours early and were still 4 rows from the front. As soon as Bad Religion we're off I dont know where everyone behind us came from and all wanted to be at the front. Great atmosphere, you could actually feel the music in your bones.
