Riga has never been a Soviet town. Along with all of Latvia, it was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1940 and 1944, and illegally incorporated into the USSR - just like Warsaw or Prague were occupied by the Nazi Reich and illegally incorporated into it, and no one says that these are “former German towns".

Freedom monument (I think not tower), was built not after soviets collapsed (1990), but 1935, after we had around 25 years of independent country which we got after first world war.

Just to note, it is a bit rude to call Baltic cities soviet or ex-soviet. It's something that a lot of foreigners do because they don't know how hurtful it can be for Baltic people to be called soviet after 30 years of independence and considering our long, rich histories before the soviet occupation. Baltic states are much more than soviet and should not be defined by soviet occupation.

Yes. A while ago, I read a comment on another video that suggested that Marwa should have professional business cards with his picture, name, and social media links that he could hand out as a way to introduce himself. I thought that was a good idea. That way he wouldn't have a way of showing people he's not just a random guy with a CZcams channel, but a "professional CZcamsR.... this way he could give people the card and maybe if they don't talk to him then after they see that he is a professional, maybe they will DM him and offer to show him around the city.

The Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union. What do you mean by it wasn't formally a member of the USSR?
