Yeah that would take quite a lot of love to keep that going. Mine's on 177,000km and is already getting chains and clutch and a whole pile of work done just to keep it alive. A Mk8 R deposit worth of work. But VR6 is life.
This is what I like to call a * *very* * optimistic Speedo.

Lots of speedos do that, I have found VW/Audi speedos to be specifically optimistic, my Diesel A6 Avant did just short of 260 on the speedo, which was more like 240 ish on the GPS.

@@lofthousehh on my seat leon 1.8tsi mk2 at 220km/h is about 215 real. So... i dont think is a vw problem. I think in this case is more of a wheel/tire setup thing

Those rear wipers are the worst, they're made of brass inlay and the motor shaft makes a chemical reaction they usually fail after 5 years (and this car is now over 12 years old). Probably not the first wiper it's been through either.

@@heelandtoe2369 didn't say it doesn't work the blades fail from the metals reacting. It's built that way so the blade doesn't break the motor shaft with a softer metal in the arm itself. It's for obstructions and snow or ice.

I sold it two years ago. But if i came back...for dure I will not. The sound is amazing. Now I have an Audi A5 3.2. it is faster, but boring and the sound terrible. The R32 forever..
R32 sounds like an aluminum can on wich u drill some holes in it and then un scream into to can, just terrible

I remember when that arrived. The time flew by so qickly. Back then it was a very fast Hot Hatch. To be honest in my opinion 6.5s in a not too big body still make you feel nice. I know we got 2021 and people get used to already that any shit has less than 5s in stock. But not numbers only matter. There is the soul the spirit where so many modern cars just don't have it. I love old school cars. What about the E63 W211 and M5 E60 AND F10 M5 when that will arrive on your channel mate? But stock ones ONLY. ☺CHEERS

its got almost 300k kilometres and I think it doesnt got anymore 250hp
the reason why it seems slower is that the speedo changes from 10km/h to 20km/h increments on the dial. The acceleration is the same

The VR6 engines were very good, didn't really have any issues and the timing chain helped
My North American Mk5 R32 is particularly breathless at over 200kmh. This car even with the inaccuracy of the speedo still closes on 150. I don't think my car is capable of that.

It's a VR6, not a V6 engine. That's why it sounds so different.

Either the speedo or the program is off by a lot. I love these VR6 golf r's. Don't they are much slower than the new Golf R it's definitely a better platform I say for more power on pump gas. Granted you need a lot more investment because it doesn't come Turbo. Plus you probably need rods at least knowing Volkswagen.

Why does the dragy GPS say 250km/h when the speedometer says 270km/h. Which is correct?!?

GPS most likely, these couldn't do 270 stock. Also, VAG speedos are kinda famous for being really optimistic.
Speedo always shows higher speed. Good Gps is more accurate, basically if police hits you with radar the speed will be more or less same as gps speed and not your speedo
Dragy is the real GPS speed. EVERY car speedometer shows a higher speed, than the real speed. It’s a law thing. So if you drive 50 km/h it’s shows on the speedometer about ~55 km/h. If you drive faster the difference gets higher. 250km/h ~ 270 km/h

Wrong I had my Mkv5 R32 on Dyno and it had 270 on Crank and 252 on Wheel...

Those figures are simpely impossible for a stock Vw N/A engine. My friends R36 did 270hp after a carbon cleaning. It was supposed to do 300hp. After a remap it was close to 300hp though.
@@ThenameisOskar I have a BN Pipes Exhaust und slighlty modifed Air Intake... also on this day we had 25-30 R32 on the dyno... Was a R32 meeting in northern Germany some time ago... And yes we had some R32 that did not reach factory power...

The engine has already done almost 300.000km so something around 180.000 miles
