- Boss fight of Isidora, Voice of the Dead from the last DLC of Blasphemous: Wounds of Eventide on True Torment difficulty, without taking damage and using only the sword. This is a fun fight, she is a very challenging boss, you need to parry a good amount of attacks. Tip: when you perform a parry you are immune for less than a second that's why I don't take damage to flame orbs.

I love how when you try to pause the game, and open up the inventory menu during this boss fight, the game won't let you. Instead, you get a message telling you that "The song of the dead cannot be stopped."
death is the absolute truth, it cannot be violated, the progression cannot be stopped.
Penitent one tried to force-mute isidora, but the girl cannot be stopped!

One cool detail about Isidora is what happens to her the moment her singing is interrupted. Throughout the fight, she is constantly singing, keeping her song going as she battles the Penitent One. The moment she is interrupted by the finishing blow, the Brazier cracks and immediately goes out, she is burnt and reduced to a pale body, and she immediately turns to dust. It’s almost as of the song was the only thing keeping her alive, so the moment she stopped singing, time immediately caught up with her and the tomb.
Took me like 25 tries to beat her first time, the hardest boss so far, and the most fun too!
Great work at defeating her without taking damage, very admirable!
So far I've gotten halfway through beating her. I'm on my 5th try right now.
I wish B2 had a boss as good as her.
I think Eviterno is close, but his annoying unskippable cutscenes and a first phase that lasts too long bogs him down a deal. His OST is good but not as ironic as Isidoras.
I do like his attacks and difficulty though. He is the hardest boss in the series and is still learnable and fair. Phase 1 just makes dying to him annoying, especially when you get destroyed the first seconds when first entering the phase.
@@zigsynx5364 Agreed, bs2 has a few cool bosses but honestly none of them get close to Isidora, Sierpes or Laudes in my opinion. I guess we will have to wait for a dlc since that's where they go hard on bosses. Eviterno is definitely the best, although personally, I didn't find him as difficult, took me like 3 or 4 tries, compared to ~25 on Isidora.
@@moustachiomoustache8933 Eviterno forced me to grind for every possible upgrade in the game and even almost 100% complete it, and he was still hard as balls. His difficulty spike is kinda unsatisfactory because the bosses before him are miles easier. Just made him a little strange.
The real final boss is a bummer, both because of weak difficulty, lack of climax and lack of a phase 2. They tried making him to be Radiance from HK, but he’s not doing it.
However, Isidora takes the cake in lore, arena, astmophere, ost, the design. I find her more fun combat wise too, but I understand how Eviterno can be more fun. I do hope the DLC bosses beat the previous best ones though.
Isidora Phase 1: "difficult, but do-able if you learn the timing on scythe attacks."
Isidora Phase 2: "Where is the downtime on her attacks?!"
Phase 2, where correctly timing jumps to avoid fireballs is rewarded with being sliced by her scythe mid air and the only solution is to parry and hope that she pushes you into them which somehow destroys them but doesn't deal damage to you?? Oh and don't try that on her invisible scythe attack, even if you parry it she pushes you into pillars of flames and that deals damage and can't be avoided. It seems ever since dark souls debuted game developers decided that harder=better no matter if it's fair or not, and that play testing Is a waste of money, after all the players will swallow whatever you throw at them, and the worst part is that they are right

@@CrayonEater255I think they are right that the second phase is pretty unfair. I have beaten this boss but I always feel it's down to a little bit of luck in the second phase
luck but also depends what prayers you have. There is one prayer that negates all damage for a short time that really makes this fight doable, and also a very powerful prayer that calls down a pillar of holy light that absolutely decimates her health bar. Imo, prayers are the way to beat this fight with only a couple of tries, that and a good combination of rosary beads, specifically Quirce's, that greatly negates fire damage. @@KitsGravity
Even though (or maybe because) she's just a brief part of the game, I really like the concept behind Isidora's character. She seems to be someone consumed by grief, who likely dwindled away for years living amongst the dead - until she found the golden orb that granted her great power. Instead of turning that power against others, she's content to stay in the ossuary and sing to the bones. One of the most powerful beings in Cvstodia, but all that she's ever wanted was to remain in isolation inside a dusty crypt. Until you reclaim the golden orb and she turns to dust herself.
I can't believe you've done Isidora no damage. I'm still not able to defeat Ten Piedad without getting at least a hit. Nice video!

@@SuperPresko JUST a parry isn't possible, but if she slams you back with a normal scythe attack and it slams you into a fire orb, the fire orb dissipates with no damage done to you. That's a really useful thing for this fight, especially once you get overwhelmed with those things.

@@teacherfromthejungles6671 Perhaps, but it still works. The forced movement caused by the block makes the player character temporarily immune to the damage from the fire orbs.
She gets me almost every time she hits me...and this guy went through the whole thing without being damaged at all...and i am crying man i am crying...

this fight felt like playing castlevania, loved it, it was hard as balls to beat her without using potions

I... I just can't beat this boss. I can *somewhat* consistently get to the second phase but as soon as I have to pay attention to those continuously spawning fireballs AND what she's doing, I might as well be fiddling with my d**k as she does a like two slices with the scythe and drains around half of my health bar with each. I don't know how you're supposed to find enough time to actually hit her in the middle of dodging literally everything that moves, and what's especially fun is when she hits you once into the corner, teleports on top of you while you're in hit stun to hit you a second time, and then hits you a third time while you're in the hit stun from the second attack.
Yeah yeah, I know I sound like I'm super salty and I should just "get good" but honestly it feels like there's no "leniency" with this boss. Either you do it perfect, or you die.
Save up your frevor, use tiento in phase 2 and go hog wild on her with the mea culpa

The best bossfight of the entire game. The most difficult too.
Took me about 70 to 80 attempts. Brutal is the word. The second highest number of attempts for a boss fight for me was Lady of the Charred Visage and that took me about 7 tries. Just goes on to show how hard this boss fight is compared to others.
It took me one day to defeat her.

The dashes was the hardest to block in my experience.
I rarely got 2 blocks down perfectly.
Frankly it's easier to jump over them.
Use the heart that increases parry stance duration

How do you get the timing for the parrying? I feel she always does different timing! Like at 2:07 and right after, she swipe after a bit, maybe 0.8s. But at 2:25 she does an instant swipe! I can't time the parries because of that
Yes, If she does a floor swipe, the next swipe will be almost instant. I had problems timing that too lol.

I will never forget the moment i stumbled upon her in my initial playthrough. It took me about a hundred tries and three days to finally finish her off. The problem was - it didn't fucking matter, because i already killed Esdras. Good times.
Oh my God this was the hardest opponent in my opinion. I've had the most problems with her. On the first run, i couldnt say how many times i tried.

Yeah, seriously.. "Secret" or "locked" bosses often tend to be the most challenging, not the last boss, throughout history.
Just off the top of my head, look at FF7, or things like Algalon from Uldaur in WoW. Or Beyonetta had one as well I believe, despite not playing or getting to it myself.
I even understand it from a development perspective. You want the majority of your players to enjoy the game and have the ability to beat it, esp if you aren't given the option of choosing difficulty.. But you want to put something, somewhere in there to reward the hardcore players who crave a challenge, hence hidden or unlockable boss fights such as this one. It's so commonplace now, I'd almost say it's more often the case than not, but that's just based on my own personal, limited experience.
The only game where the final boss is the hardest boss is Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne with the true demon ending, pray to the Milagro if you dare to get than ending on your first time beating the game

Dude. On my third or fourth try, I finally beat her, but get this. During the Requiem Æternam screen, the pyre spawned 2 fireballs while I couldn't move. *I died during the win screen* and my jaw was on the floor. It still counted as a victory, but holy shit.

Outstanding job! How many hours did you trained to kill her like that? Last phase of this boss just decimating my character. I figured out how to best the first one but this is it. A lot of luck required to beat her last phase imo.

@@donaldpump3072 I ended up completely erasing Blasphemous from my Steam account. I found that this game is not for me. Also it have tons of secrets and I am not sure that I’ll found 100% of them.
I do the phase 1 perfectly without getting touched but can't down her to 3 health bars before phase 2, i always leave her with 5 or 4 before getting absolutely crushed by phase 2

I have mea culpa at level 4 and I did way less damage than you even using charged attack and combo finishers. Also, she always got to phase two at half-life with me. I could beat phase one with 2 or 3 hits taken, but then dodging the fireballs and her attacks was insane even with the spinning shield. I don't know how much it took me to beat her, I stop counting after the first hour
Why does you sword deal so much damage? Mine barely scratch her and it’d maxed out.
I had equipped the Heart of Oils in my sword. Increases your strength but lowers your defense.

her title is a big contrast to her difficulty. too east to parry, her flame pillars gave long warning sign instead of pushing player reflex to the most.

Fourth Toe made of Limestone (reduces dodging cd) and Knot of Hair (increases strength).
How the hell is your sword doing so much damage? It takes me so many more hits to get her to phase two of the fight
Same here. Also, she always got to phase two at exact half life with me, which makes it way harder as the fire balls become insane
The only way i could defeat her was spamming that prayer that makes you invincible for a short period of time and praying to get a good pattern. I never could get the right timing to parry her scythe attacks.

I spent an hour trying to beat her... Phase 1 is kind of OK, but phase 2 is wayy too hard for me yet... i can't evade those fireballs in time or parry the attack at the same time as evading her fireballs.... pain...

As soon as you dominate the parry timing and the pillar dodges you realize the true boss are those piece of S(/? fireballs, seriously, your didging tempo gets messed dodging THEM

Yeah, you defenitly haven't played any of those games or have a massive skill issue, her phase 2 might seem overwhelming at first, but is easy the moment you take advantage of Parrying I frames, tiento or Debla and Pelican effigy. Pure Vessel, Isshin, Nameless king are easily harder than any Blasphemous boss and this coming from someone who's beaten NG+ twice

@@pina4583 Nah, ne flame orbs in phase 2 are not balanced. Maybe i'm doing something wrong but it is flat out impossible sometimes to dodge the boss and the orbs. The boss would have been way better if they made the melee attacks more challenging and took away the orbs entirely.
