  • Got the front suspension parts cleaned, bead blasted and painted. Just need to paint the upper and lower control arms tomorrow. I hope to start on the engine compartment tomorrow too.

    You are doing everything I did to my 67 galaxie 20 years ago except being off frame. I spent 5 years going through my ragtop. First car, bought in 71, drove it to high school and still have it.

    Looking good Howard. I love the fact you are meticulous in your work. It will pay big dividends in the end once you get it back on the road. Keep up the good work. Bob

    A nice restro is really hard to do anymore. As they get older they become unobtainium. Good cars sell high as they become like so hard to finish at the end

      I have found in the past decade or two, prices of project cars have gone out of sight. I think it's all the shows on TV and CZcams that make people think there car that is in need of 100% restoration, worth what a restored car like theres sell for. I looked at a 66 Mustang last spring. The owner wanted $25,000 for a car that was worth maybe $5,000 at most. It needed floors, trunk pan, it had new rear 1/4 panels installed incorrectly, so they needed to be removed and installed correctly......

    Where is you spray booth? I was wondering where you painted parts since you did not cover anything in the garage.

      Outside.... I just run out the door, with the part and door jamb gun. Give them a quick spray, then hang them up in the warm garage to dry. Been doing that for 30 years, and never had a problem... so far.

      I have been doing about three to four hours every day or two. By the end of December I will have the time to put in six to ten hours a day.

    Using your Craftsman Multi-tool to remove the grease from the control arm? Working on your car and wearing a grease mustache, isn't it great?

    I'm loving this restoration, Howard. Wish it were possible that I would be able to be the one to take it off your hands, but after working the last 4 years to put myself solidly in the black I just don't see it happening :) I'll just be content watching you reassemble that beauty.

  • @frequencyfluxfandango8504

    I don't know how I'd feel about selling this car, but I know you seem to enjoy your work so much, you'll just move on to the next one ! And why not !? -Looking very tidy. Cheers

    your sound quality on your mic is poor even listing to it though my tv sound bar

    • @OldCarAlley
      @OldCarAlley  Před 4 lety

      Maybe it's on your end. The sound on my computer sounds ok. I will look into it, but the mic is part of the camera. I do have other mic's, but there always in the way, and the bluetooth one runs the camera battery down quick. Maybe I can adjust the sound in editing.
