I am a man and I wrapped my hair, when I go outside. And people are respectful and curious what i have and how long it is. But the energy is there. They asked me at work why do I wrap it. They want to see it and my answer is simple ‘no’. One day I took my dreads out in the truck while I was driving and one of the employees couldn’t recognize me.
He said I look different.
I will keep wrapping it. Is always good not to show all you got. God made the heaven and the earth and he walk amongst us only one time. So….. I will hide it
I had the same experience, people are curious about what's under my hat. After watching her and the digital locitican I decided to cover my locs and preserve my energy.

Similarly, a hair weave serves as a cover, hiding individual kinky hair but the image is different., Women covering their hair especially if you have locks sends a powerful message of respect through its image." But every one have their own way how they want to presents their temple. Respect.

Since I’ve started my loc journey back in 2022, I’ve worn head wraps everyday. Mostly when I’m out around other people and places. In my opinion..It’s like a protective mechanism for me. I tend to only wear my locs out around people I’m close to which is very few. Nevertheless; I believe wearing my wraps make people respect me more. Although I do wear a lot of different colors and patterns. It still makes people focus more on me and what I’m saying versus my look. As there have been a few times where I don’t wear a wrap while I’m out and feel very out of place and it seems as if I feel all the things around me. Idk how to explain it , but it’s like that for me.

With wearing a tam , new growth is more condensed . And some of the more usual applies like hair being out of the way while eating . I like the power that is given . Not everyone has access to your head of hair . There's no telling what intention people are putting in your hair . All you know is that you have to wear it . 👳
