- My guide for the best things to do in Snowdonia & Anglesey. From climbing to the summit of Snowdon to the mind blowing Conwy Castle! Snowdonia is a national park in North West Wales, not only does it contain the highest peak in wales, but also some breathtaking castles, gorgeous towns and Anglesey has some of the most peaceful coastline you could imagine! All these things are in such a small area which makes it the perfect place for a holiday! So here is my top 10 things to do whilst on holiday Snowdonia.

firstly in Snowdonia you must climb the highest peak in wales, in this video i will give you full advice on the many ways to get to the summit of Snowdon. Firstly you can walk on the Pyg Track, probably the most well known track the Pyg is also the shortest and with only a few short climbs anyone with an average level of fitness can tackle this path. Then we have the Snowdon mountain Railway, this train is perfect for anyone who wants to see the epic views all over Snowdonia from the summit without the climb. Then for the people seeking more of a challenge I would suggest the Rhyd Ddu path. climbing along the ridgeline this requires some confidence and steady footing, but the reward is some of the best views I have ever seen!

Other than this you can see the amazing walled town of Conwy, the guinness world record for the smallest house in Great Britain as well as Conwy Castle. go over to Anglesey and walk around the coast at the South Stack Lighthouse. see the town with the 2nd longest name in Europe and more castles than you can imagine and so much more! I think Wales is overlooked a lot and people look toward Cornwall or The Lake District, but for some awesome scenery, castles and epic mountain walks. It's an incredible place!

I climbed Snowdon a few times, one time we had bad weather and couldn't make it to the top. On the way down we got drenched and for some stupid reason I hadn't taken a change, so when we got back to the car I had to just get most of the layers off. But the tradition was after a walk with my dad we went for a curry and there was no changing that one, and I remember walking down Welshpool High Street in a pair of underpants and a cycling top.

Get yourself to Barmouth, bottom end of Snowdonia but one of the most beautiful places, we have a caravan in Tal-y-bont just outside Barmouth, and Harlech castle is on route to Barmouth too, nice day out at the castle, but Barmouth has some stunning walks and scenery, definitely a must go place!
I'll be heading back to Snowdonia soon, I can't wait! and I'll certainly check out your suggestions, I have visited Harlech Castle but never gone to Barmouth. Stunning walks and scenery sound great to me!

New sub! These videos are just what I was looking for as inspo for our own Welsh road trip this summer. Are you planning on putting out the rest of your road trip videos any time soon?
These were the main 3 videos I made of my Welsh road trip, but basically, the structure of the trip was:
Day 1 - Cardiff
Day 2-5 - Pembrokeshire Coast & Tenby
Day 6 - Aberystwyth
Day 7-10 - Snowdonia
And then I drove back along north coast of Wales.
But I may make a final video putting everywhere in order and mapping out the full route of my road trip, as I've had a few requests now, so stay tuned!😃

I may be inventing trivia here but I thought Llanfairpwllgwyn....was also the birthplace of the WI.
Beddgelert is my favourite place in the world. I'm glad you noted the drinking establishments. Generally speaking, the ones nearer the bridge are better in the wet/cold, whilst the ones higher up aka the Royal Goat are better in the hotter balmy nights, should there be any!!
Cadwaladers ice cream is a must in Criccieth.

Hey Alex! I love the pyg track of Snowdonia. Did you stay at the hostel at pen y pass? Right at the bottom of snowdon. Great place to stay and the start and end of the trek.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed! The Pyg track is great, although next time I go I want to attempt the Crib Goch path and try a bit of scrambling! I didn't stay at the hostel because I didn't actually realise it was there, I'll definitely think about it next time though! And Conwy is an epic day trip!

Went to Holyhead then into snowdonia this weekend, snowdonia blew me away with its beauty! It’s incredible, I’m of to the Peak District national park next weekend, have you been any if so any recommendations ? :)
Funnily enough I'm back in the Peak District in around 3 weeks time so I'll be making some more videos from there! I have visited before although only for a couple of days but I would recommend Dovedale and Monsal Dale for 2 epic hikes! Indeed! There are quite a lot or regular buses going all over Snowdonia.
Infact I believe as of right now its being advised that more people make use of the buses as Snowdonia is becoming overflowing with cars

Enjoy your trip! I actually just got back from a second trip to Snowdonia a couple weeks ago, in fact that's my next video coming soon! If you like hiking mountains but want to do something different to Snowdon, my recent Snowdonia highlight was climbing Glyder Fawr! ...absolutely incredible!
Hi Alex do we need a vehicle on our own for when exploring snowdonia?
I believe there are buses on all the main routes, it's only for any places that are off the beaten track you might have some issues if exploring by bus

Caernarfon Castle is where prince Charles was crowned the Prince of Wales.
Snowdon may be the tallest mountain, south of the Scottish Highlands, but there are finer mountains, and mountain ranges, in the Snowdonia National Park.
There's the incredible Carneddau, which see hardly any walkers, and my real favourite, is the Rhinog range, above Harlech.
Do not put Snowdon at the top of your list, as you are missing a lot of equally fine mountains in such a compact area of North Wales

And I agree, I just returned from another trip to Snowdonia last week and climbed Glyder Fawr... and I think it beat Snowdon on scenery, quietness, peacefulness and how fun it was to climb! Correction, Snowdon is not just the highest mountain in Wales, but the highest in both England and Wales!
Snowdon is not in England, though.
It is the highest mountain in England, Wales and St Helena too.
You really could have made a better effort at Welsh names. Rhyd Ddu sounds like "Rheed Thee". Criccieth sounds like "Crick Yeth".
I think it's pronounced conwee (conwy) not Conway
