      Which it kind of is. Russia got comfortable with the west holding Ukraine's leash back from invading Russian territory that the Russians got lazy and incompetent (once again). Now that the leash is off they will have to pull actual soldiers off the frontline to protect their poorly trained conscript border guards.

      @@benguensche yes I agree. Russia had almost 3 years to evacuate civilians from the frontline that they have created. I think that there is no difference if this conflict takes place in the Ukrainian Civilian area or Russian. I think that Ukraine will be willing to withdraw troops from Russia if Russia will withdraw forces from Ukraine. Additionally in recent months Russia opened this front but they miscalculated their capabilities in fact this is just development of defensive forces.

    "Part of the problem is that the current leaders of Western countries have never dealt with thugs. Their experience and education relate to interactions between statesmen. The principle of these people’s behaviour is that both sides concede to each other in the interests of their electorate or subjects...the use of force is a last resort.
    This is not the case with Putin. He was raised in the KGB, an organisation that relied on force and disregard for the law.
    Times changed but his ways of solving issues remained. Some of the conversations between his confidants and known criminals help us to understand how the murder of Litvinenko and the poisoning of Navalny and the Skripals came at the nod of Putin. Such acts are the norm within the president’s circles, because he is a thug by nature.
    A bandit will always be a bandit. It is a drastic mistake when he is seen as a statesman. Europe and America fail to understand who he really is.
    I have experience of dealing with bandits. After spending ten years in Russian prisons, I can say that the most dangerous thing is to show them weakness or uncertainty. Any step towards their demands, without a clear demonstration of strength, will be perceived as weakness." (Mikhail Khodorkovsky, 2022)

    Ukraine had to attack this area which serves as a logistical and military training ground for an attack on their country. In this way, they also relieve the front in their country. The Ukrainians are in a difficult situation because the West did not supply them with a sufficient amount of heavy weapons either before or after the attack, there are no phantoms, Apaches, Abrahams, rifles... they still use Soviet equipment in this sense, planes, tanks, helicopters. . The Americans mostly gave them javelins, chimars and drones, but that's more for defensive use, and it's not enough for this kind of war where the Russians especially have artillery dominance.

      I think the Russians let the Ukrainians invade and are going to make minimal effort to push them out. It's just a kill zone and meat grinder for Ukraine to waste men on a PR stunt. Ukraine will never claim the Russian territory they occupy so whats the point in taking it? Russia can just leave enough troops to slow the advance and zero in the artillery on the Ukrainian positions continuing their war of attrition.

    • @paulboyce8537
      @paulboyce8537 Před měsícem +7

      Timing for the aid and F16's could be to make Russia feel secure in their current position and care less about their back. I think Ukraine will puss to Voronezh bypassing Kursk only circling it. From Voronezh they will turn south without entering the city. Now Ukrainians have protective barrier on their left as the River Don. From here all the way down to Rostov Of Don there are no defensive lines or mine fields. This can be genius and very ballsy. The manpower Russia needs just to stop Ukraine is huge and only option is to take forces from their front leaving it weak. This can have a counter effect that Ukraine can pull some of their forces to the support of Kursk offensive that in turn will weaken the front even more. But here is the kick. This can be a plan for lot bigger scale that unites Georgia to the fight and NATO. For example Finnish border is empty at Russian side. There is nothing there as all is in Ukraine. If NATO is provoked to get involved I see this border first to move. Finland takes Karelia what belongs to them from St Petersburg/Lake Ladoga to White Sea (Belomorsk) via waterways to extend the border. Belarus will distance themselves and Polish army that is huge will join the fight. And we see Israel destroying the enemy in Middle East that is already happening. And China has pulled their support from Russia ready to take huge junks from Russia. The big picture looks very different. Russia has lost almost 600 thousand men killed or wounded. Almost all of the armored vehicles have been destroyed where Russia is digging into plus 60 year old reserves putting them against modern tanks. I think what we are seeing is something very big.
