Rog is such a nice dude man, very warm personality. When he said "a 40 year old fat guy trying to land shit" I felt really bad for him he's way too harsh on himself. It really takes a toll beating yourself up like that, I know he does it because he mentioned his struggles with depression on the interview with Ragdoll. It sucks because he is a great skater and already has killer footage so he shouldnt worry about not being able to rock it as well as he used too. Kee it up Rog, Kelly and Chris ! you guys are all legends

@subcomandante marcos I thought I was getting it back slowly till I broke my wrist and bruised my ribs pretty good 4 months ago. Injuries suck ass alot worse at 36 then they did when we was younger.

Rog - I lived in Boston in the back bay from 97-99 (from Chicago )and I’m sure I saw you skate at Copley . I remember seeing Charlie skate there for sure, I heard he now lives in around me Portland. Wasn’t there a shop called hangar 18 in the back bay? I remember going to concepts and see vinny there. Thanks for doing this, brings back memories ✌🏽
Hanger 18 was the spot after Positive closed shop. If you cruised up Newbury street and hung a left at Tower Records. A right after overpass, it was there on left side. You had to ring a buzzer and go upstairs. H18 was just as dope a shop as Positive (if not better). But didn't last long, because it was almost like a speakeasy type of location.
Both those shops were short-lived.
At the time skateboarding was turning Hypebeast (before that even was a term). I mean, you had Nike even sponsoring skaters, having a team, shoe deals.
You could find World Industries in Kmart.
Some little shops popped up on outskirts of Boston. Like Coliseum in Melrose. Who had their run with a couple video parts with PJ (the only Good skater associated with them).
Roger has roots! so sick! i remember seeing him around Encinitas to when i was kid and with the Rhythm dudes. That yellow center divider ledge tho in Boston is so hard to skate to. Jahmal, Jerry and a few others had killed that spot
Jerry was great in that dna video continuum. You also Ronson.
Roger's the fucking best, man. I'm happy for him that he stepped back from the 9 club. Looking back you can see how unhappy he was compared to how he is in his natural environment.

Honestly Rog could have a regular series of skate tourism around different cities with his knowledge. A bit of background on the skater and trick (insight into filming it if he did), insert the original footage and just him skating inbetween. He could even go back to the spot with some of the skaters. Would be fucking sick! I'll take 10% royalties 😉
