How to Make Clay Flutes: The Basics

- Steven Crawley walks you through the basics of creating a clay flute or whistle. This has become a signature assignment for my ceramics students. I end up making several demonstration pieces during those lessons and find them very satisfying as a functional art object. After several years I've finally gotten the hang of making these and want to pass on that knowledge to my students, fellow teachers or anyone who would like to try making them.

Thanks for this video! It's very well explained, I tried to making one at class today (more potato shaped) and it does sound! I added 6 holes, the last 2 don't sound clearly yet but I'll keep working on it 👍

so it worked for me with just one hole, whe i added a second I got no sound at all, anyone know what i might be doing wrong?

Made such today with polymer clay :D Next plan to try Water whistling vessel. But no info how to make only how it works :X
