Reroll the leftovers into fabric, what is old is new again!! Renaming what our ancestors did!! Putting pieces together to make a usable piece of fabric!! The serger makes that process so fast!! I love it!! Saving soooo much more than money, the environment and giving someone a JOB!! Well done young man!! from this 62 year old grandmother

You are doing what my grandmother did for many years. She was born in 1900, and she would take old clothes, worn out clothes and make bedding out of it, for her children, of which, there were many. She never 'sold' any of her items, but just provided for her family.
My grand would have really been able to use the money from her creations, but her poverty prevented her from doing so. Good video.

Start by not buying a lot of clothes. Before we recycle, we should also slow down with how much trash we generate. And don't throw out something that can still be worn - just because the fashion industry wants you to get a new item..

No, this is called Cottage Industry and our Grandmothers and Greay Grandmother's and Aunts did this before all of our clothing manufacturing went to China!
In fact, my blind and deaf neighbor learned to crochet rag rugs made out of cutaways. The women bought cutaways by the pound.
She crocheted beautiful rag rugs and sold them. Her daughter Ruthie took me to the sportswear manufacturing company a couple of times. There were women all over the place buying these scraps.
Some made rugs, some made quilts, some made toys. I was just amazed as I watched them carefully select the type of cutaway they would use.
I helped Ruthie tear them into straps and we would wind them in balls. Sometimes, she would let me thread her needles. I would watch her make her rugs for hours.
When I got older, the manufacturing started going overseas. Then the fabric mills started going overseas. It's gotten very difficult to source fabric from the cutting room floor.
If you can source it, get as much of a supply as possible.

I’m not sure if you’d consider it or not, but as I’ve been learning a lot of alternatives on my zero waste journey, consider also making reusable feminine products. Reusable pads are great in my option and with so many patterns and small pieces it can totally be an option for you with the smaller things your not sure what to do with. ☺️ hope you love the idea.

I made my own reusable pads from old Tshirts, socks, and thick plastic bags. I made them S, M, L sizes for different days and nights. They were hand-sewn because I don't have a sewing machine. I haven't bought disposable pads for more than two years now. I'm so proud.
