@Tankdriver100 i am talking from a sport quad point of view but yes. when people get aftermarket exhaust systems they need to breathe more than stock. so they take off the lid and rejet accordingly. the filter is still there, just no lid. i forgot about the 2 sections thing that would pretty much scrap the no airbox lid idea

I was about to buy a rzr S. Not anymore. Now I just have to be the guinnea pig for Can am but I want that 1000CC rotax! No finer motor for this application.
The box storage is very sweet as well. I am leary of the visco loc but owners of the outlanders say it works fine (at least the third gen).
Not giving up on Polaris yet but I like can ams build quality. Besides, Polaris is moving asembly to Mexico to its a tie there. Unless this thing is being built elsewhere....

@Tankdriver100 haha i was just joking man. i'm sure it could be done but it wouldn't be as simple as taking off the airbox lid. maybe if someone fabbed a grill into the top of the hood or something. and as for dusty conditions, alot of people run no airbox lid. you just have to clean it alot more. with efi it would be easy to put it back on though. i have a blaster so to do that i would be changing a main jet. thats why i just leave mine on all the time

to all of you talking about polaris moving to mexico, please pay close attention. as a polaris dealer, they are only opening a facilty there to accomodate shipping and minor production on some units such as the youth atvs and painting plastic bodies. where in the world do you think can am's production plant is located ? as for the commander,, uh kinda looks like a rzr !! polaris will never fall behind in this market especially to a manufacturer who sells the least in this powersport business

@maxaud19 my father have a 650 outlander . . . have over 15k miles on it and he never changed a single parts. oil change that all . . . its all depend on what you do with it . . . if you have fun crashing into tree and going into water over the bars . . . that explain why you change that much parts.
