At 4:16 I'm thinking... twist it side to side slowly, while at the same time slowly pulling it out. Then same while pushing it in, see see if some resistance.

I'm wondering, do the screws on the bottom line up with the hole in the sleeve. There has to be a way to easily showcase how to remove the Stick.

Couldn't you just open the bottom, screw the stick in with the mechanism outside the sleeve and then put it in again in the "assembled" condition? Not hard to reassemble at all :P
Yes, you could, but I think Mr Puzzle was taking about putting it back together without opening the bottom.
