    There are two types of CCM Vintage Jerseys, Authentic On-Ice and Replica. A big tell is the tag, a blue band around the tag and a number size is an authentic while a gray band around the tag with a letter size is a replica. If you see a gray banded tag with a number size or a blue banded tag with a letter size, it’s fake.

      damn... knew it was too good to be true. This is exactly the info I was looking for. NWT CCM Vintage sz52 Bobby Orr for $50, but it's a gray tag with numbered size.

    Thanks so much! I love CCM jerseys. I just didn’t want to buy a fake one. It’s a horrible feeling when I bought a Reebok fake jersey. Didn’t do my homework. Really thought it was real.
    Thanks again!

    just came across this and honestly did not know that ccm jerseys were being faked. i personally love the old ultrafil ccm/maska jerseys. i think they were the best jerseys made that last a long time. about to age myself but, i bought an authentic ccm/maska red wings probert jersey back in 1986 and i've worn that jersey to many games and not snag, rip or tear in it. top quality jersey.

    Thanks for posting this! It may be that aspiring collectors might not know that CCM Vintage knockoffs exist. As you've shown, the appearance of the knockoffs often looks better than what we've seen from Reebok knockoffs, so it can be tough to tell. The size tag is usually the main indicator, based on my observations.

    Hey man, I'm a Kings fan and I just bought a 2006 era Kings jersey on Ebay and I'm having trouble knowing if it's real or not it's very strange that it's a Reebok but the inside tag says CCM and size but everything looks legit on it and real aside from inside tag. Crown looks authentic, los angeles near bottom and shoulder patches look real. I'm just having trouble knowing if it's a knockoff though any advice or ways I can know for sure?

    What if you get it directly from the nhl store and it has the logo stitched on because I have one from the nhl store and that’s the only thing I can find on it that would make it fake. Maybe for price cuts? Because I got it for the same price as a real one

    • @lifeofaustin1062
      @lifeofaustin1062  Před 5 lety

      Some retro ccm do have the logos stitched on ex: "ccm team classic" or "hero of hockey" jerseys should be stitched on. Also could depend on the year of production that the jersey was made in. I know the last year that Reebok produced the jerseys they started stitching the logos on. But you can tell easily if the stitching is clean I'd guess it's real if the stitching is a mess like you see in this video it is fake

    Hey bro with all this Covid stuff most stores fitting rooms are closed. How do hockey jerseys fit? I assume they run big because they want to compensate for pads or is that not true. If I were to wear an adult large T-shirt and an adult large hoodie I’m thinking I would have to get a smaller jersey maybe like a small or a medium? I was even looking at size of width and length of a jersey I seen on a site and it looks like i’d maybe even be able to fit a youth extra-large or even youth large lol

  • @Rockin_Ross
    @Rockin_Ross Před 2 lety

    Great vid. One big reason people go to fakes is the Throwback market. Finding one of a player you once loved but can’t get authentic, you’ll go with who will make it.
    I ran into that trying to get a Tretiak jersey from the 1980 Russian Red Army team. Can’t get an authentic of him, so custom is your next option or fake as a last resort.

    I'm a jersey collector (mostly baseball). Yeah, the fakes always have that paper that peels away on the inside of the jersey. The reason why the coyote was glued on to the real jersey is because the shape of the coyote would have made it difficult to sew around. While I'd prefer the best quality in a jersey, the bottom line is there are no jersey police running around writing citations for wearing a fake.

  • @ThwompKid
    @ThwompKid Před 5 lety

    the thin paper backing you pulled from the inside of the jersey is part of the embroidering process which hasn't been removed due to the poorer quality control at the factories. It has nothing to do with the quality of the materials used in production of the jersey and should've simply been removed before it was sold. Great video apart from that!

    authentic jerseys have sizing in numbers my friend and fake ones will say L, XL, M etc. sorry to point that out

    • @alexiaajordan
      @alexiaajordan Před 3 lety +2

      You are actually incorrect. Let me educate you on jerseys. There are two different types of jerseys. There are the Authentic which resembles those worn on the ice, a more heavy duty material. Those use number sizing. If an authentic jersey is faked, like the coyotes one in the video, it will also use the number sizing. Then you have the replica jerseys, which are made to look like the authentics but with a lighter/cheaper material. Those use letter sizing, like the real replica in the video. So no, jerseys that use XL, L, M, etc, are not fake, they’re a replica jersey. They could be faked, but you’re more likely to see a faked authentic.
