Everything you mentioned here might be his wishful thinking but he would never put them into action or express them. He was that kind of person. What he really would do in the past, is while he was with me he'd go and be with someone else just for the sake of the physical connection only to spite me. The way he showed his love to me was by acting out in negative way, hateful way. Then he would feel shame and guilt and come back to me because he knew I loved him unconditionally and would forgive him no matter how much he hurt me. I was his rock and he knew it. So he would do those terrible acts and feel self-loathing by them. He had low self-esteem, low self-confidence and he felt unworthy of me. He would do every hateful thing to push me away but then regret it and come back and act like a victim. He had serious trust issues and he was traumatized. I was his safe haven. He was emotionally immature, a 6-years-old in a full grown adult body. And he could be a delightful kid.
I forgave him and walked away because he crossed a line, big time, I needed to protect myself. He needed me, he didn't love me. I didn't need him but loved him unconditionally. 😭 I wish him no harm and feel compassion towards him but won't take him back.
