River Certified is the real deal.Bull heads from the duck moss sauce .....get em!
Duck moss sauce. Haha i'm digging that.
Never thought I'd see myself watch a video of someone catch bait.... but here I am at work jealous that I have to work way harder to get that many bullheads
Haha keep trying different spots man and you'll find a few!
Do t you just love the slime that builds up on your hands from the bullheads? Just like snot!
Everytime I wish I would have brought a towel, and I always forget
You should do an in depth video on your large at home bait tank, on how you built it... great video by the way!
Here ya go sir czcams.com/video/_UfWk1G2XFk/video.html
Also cutting the barbs off your hooks or using barbless hooks helps when catching gills and greenies, to keep them alive when they swallow those little hooks.
Great idea!
A woody sighting heck yeah. You got a good women and a good dog and some good bait for your next flathead adventure. Life is good sometimes.
I can't complain man. I got it good.
You should do a video on your whole bait setup, rod/reels used, bait buckets, bait tank, and filter setup.
I'll add it to the list😁
@@RiverCertified czcams.com/video/_UfWk1G2XFk/video.html didn,t realize you already had a similar video
Great to see Woody. Think he may become a star. 🤔. Tight lines Spencer
I'll have him and Ella out camping. Hopefully soon!
Good Spencer. Ya'll have a great time.
would love to see the sucker and creek chub video
If I get 2000 likes I definitely will. Might do it either way haha
Cool baitwell In the garage.I remember getting stung by them quit often..rub the slime from them on the wound and wha la..pain gone
Thanks dude. They're not very forgiving in that regard.
Bull heads are like gold right now I got my bullhead spot but people fish it like crazy now
I know exactly what you mean!
Poopy ponds. You got that right, but they usually fish really good. Heck yeah bro.
Glad you got a kick out of it!
My job as a young boy was too catch grasshoppers for perch bait loved it!
Your childhood must have been pretty darn good!
Nature, sarcasm drama and results,Certified you've got it all! Hope it hits 2,00. Thanks fella 👍👍👍
I try my best! Glad ya enjoyed em!
Bro I caught a 55lb blue on a 4 inch bullhead! Small bait works wonders on big fish. Granted larger baits weed out the smaller ones. Great vids keep them coming. Tight lines!
That's an awesome fish man! You ain't wrong!
Can't wait the flatheads should be biting anytime now. I was catching blues and channel but they slowed down. I been useing live bluegill and dead skipjack. But this year I'm trying something different. Anyway great video thanks for sharing. God bless and keep on ripping lips. ☺👍 and hello from ky land between the lakes
I've seen a couple dudes on facebook beating them up down there! Good luck!
Do more catching bait videos I enjoy it
I will do my best!
I often enjoy fishing for bait. It's part of the fun. At least if I get skunked on catfish I still caught fish.
I like where your head is at😁
I finally caught a flathead!
Awesome!
Always love bait catching videos
Glad ya do!
Yes do more and thank you for your time.👍
I'll keep doing my best!
I was going to mention the other day, you should do a video on how a pro fisherman gets his baits lol. I live in a city, so there are all sorts of ponds and highway drainage holds all over town. I know of hundreds, but use only 2, because of convenience and just knowing there is always going to be a bed of juicy gills for me to toss my net over. When it comes to minnows though, I go support a bait shop. After seeing your bait tank though, I'm definitely going to be building one.
That is definitely one perk of living in a city. Here's the bait tank video for ya czcams.com/video/_UfWk1G2XFk/video.html
We need that chub video !
I'll see what I can do!
People still eat bull heads. My neihbor used tell my brother and I. “ cold water bull heads are the best tasting fish” he was usually drunk so we never took him up on it. Cool video. I wonder how many times I passed right by great bait places.
Ya live and ya learn. Makes fun memorex though!
i’m gonna watch your ads! i want to support!
Means a lot dude!
That's definitely a new law about transporting them in water they came from, interesting lol..I'm building me a similar bait fish set up..NICE...Keep Crushing It!!

Yeah I think its 2-3 years old or so. Cant remember and I've never been checked. Its a good idea with VHS in some waters. Good luck fishing!
Great video Spencer
Glad ya enjoyed it!
I love your videos, you crack me up.
Glad you get a kick out of them Ben!
@@RiverCertified i love your sence of humor
Awesome video Mr B!!!! You made my day!!! Much love from Quebec!!! 👍🤩
I'm glad ya enjoy them and appreciate the kind words!
Thanks spencer more great info.. I truly appreciate you sir!!!!!
I'm glad you do!
You my friend, are a king.
Yes.yes he is
Awe shucks man😁
I mean how can you beat it! I figure you either get to go fishing twice or you get to go fishing to go fishing. Win win situation. I think you should film Ella catching on of those big flatheads.
Love the positivity😁 I'll do my best before the summer is over!
Didn't know you were full blown raising your own bait. But if you have the room and the right tanks filters aeriators etc...then it makes it a lot easier when you decide to go fishing and have as many baits as you want right in the garage😎👍👍
Its the only way to do it man. So much more efficient.
Thanks for another solid video!
PRO TIP (from an amateur) for those who read comments: The more bait you have in your bucket, the more often you should change out the water. When captured, fish empty their bowel and bladder like crazy. I don't blame them a bit, but it pollutes the water and keeps them from getting the oxygen they need from it. This can be true even if you're using an aerator, which I also recommend.
Thats exactly why I like to let em chill in the bucket before they go in the bait tank
Been watching your videos for a few months now totally changed up my approach started fishing smaller systems and got back on some monster fish. Appreciate you man!
Good stuff man! Hope it only gets better!

She keeps me grounded. Very grounded haha
So she is the breadwinner of the family huh? LOL
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost the password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Alfonso Carlos instablaster ;)
@Major Rudy i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Heck yes!! Let's see how you catch suckers and Creek chubs
I'm gonna try and get it filmed soon!
I'd be interested to see a catch and cook of fresh bullheads vs bullheads that sat in your bait tank for a day or two.
Haha I'm gonna have to pass on the ones in the bait tank. Not sure how I feel about eating ones that are swimming around in the bait tank additives.
Killer bait video! Loved your bait tanks, need something like your bullhead hotel!
Glad ya enjoyed it! Here's the video on how it's put together czcams.com/video/_UfWk1G2XFk/video.html
Awesome video! Pretty cool.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Big fan! Watch all the new vids and dig the sarcastic narrative hahahaa🤣🤣
Glad you get a kick out of it!
Even if we don’t get 1400 more likes, can we still get a video about creek chubs and suckers?
Yes please!
That would be much appreciated 😀😀
Looks like you're gonna get your wish dude!
Sweet!
Love the video looks like a lot of fun
I'm glad ya enjoy 'em Larry!
Would like to see you do a bait video on suckers brother keep up the good work
I probably will even if it doesn't hit 2000 likes haha
2K and counting 📈
Your personality makes me smile. Love that i found your channel. Been binge watching and learning. Thanks
great video, you buy bait or you catch bait, to catch the big ones. a ultralight video would be nice also. stay safe.
I'll have to do a more comprehensive bait video before the summer is over.
I found a (probably 50ish lbs) Flathead Skeleton on the bank of the East fork Little Miami River (East Fork Lake and Dam Spillway)
Big blues come out of there too.
Highlights Center- Damn that’s a bummer, I know where that is too, used to Crappie fish at East Fork.
@@jacobkramer1089 Yeah I saw a big blue from the spillway on fishbrain 30lbs I think
@@hensleyshobbies-doug7761 I went the other day on a boat and we caught crappie on minnows, a few bluegill and a catfish on some worm too.
Good to know they're in there!
Gotta love the bullheads I have a couple interstate pond where they dug the dirt out to make over passes and there full of bullheads you can catch them faster than bluegils
That is a convenient resource!
Yes please do some the bait vids on suckers and creek chugs please
I'll do my best!
You should make a “strainer” out of mesh and leave it in your bucket so you can get your bait out of the bucket without having to chase them with your hand or net them one, by one. Just a thought. 🤘
Well….I just went over to Google to educate myself about Chubs & Suckers. Low & behold whose fresh smiley 😆 face do I see sitting in a kayak with a large Flathead straddled across his lap. Good Gawd man you be everywhere. 🤣😂🎣😂🤣🇦🇺 Tight lines…..hope you catch a giant. 👍🏻🎣👍🏻🇦🇺
So Ella has you pegged bud, LOL. Nothing like the wife to put you in your place. Trust me 38 years going strong with the Love of my life and she can put me in my place with just a look. Happens. Loves a truly wonderful thing especially with someone you're just crazy about. This was cool, often wondered thought just Bait Net luck. Like to see more. Brother tells me the net is heavy and hard to learn, advised me at 58 to buy my bait. Or get lucky with a rogue sunfish or bullhead. Great job Spenser you're the Fishing Man!
I need that sometimes haha. I'd have to take out a loan to buy all the bait I use!
Good one, and ya didn't eat a single fish...Thanks for sharing...Great info...
You bet! Glad ya got a kick out of it!
Hell I can’t find any ponds with bull head, loved catching them as a kid , grandpa used to load us grandkids up in back of the truck head down to local lake with 6 dozen worms and the bite was on he loved eating bull head
It does seem like they're getting harder and harder to find. Hope ya find some!
I was told by the fisheries biologist in Kansas that the catfish populations are dwindling due to over use of herbicides and the run off into the ponds is sterilizing the fish
Good bullhead in Otter Creek, southern Warren County
Or the North River along Warren/Madison county line road south of Cumming, North of Bevington.
Lot.s of bait yr ready for another adventure..good luck hope ya catch a whopper...cheer.s ron
A few good ones have eaten those sunfish and bulkheads since then!
Getting called out by the lady!!😁😆
She's never had a hard time doing that haha
I like to use 2 buckets to keep the Bullheads separate from the panfish. I find the Bullheads purge out way more poop and it tends to affect the panfish if in the same bucket
Good stuff! I'm too lazy to haul two of them haha
Catching bait on a rod and reel is always a good time
Real good stuff bud
Thanks
when it comes to baiting, sir I'd say you are the master...
I will accept that title graciously
River Certified 💯💪🏽🔥
Always a great video brother
Thank you very much sir!
More bait videos
I'll do my best!
Was a good day for bait fishing.
YEssir!
Of course we want to see how you catch other bait fish. I always learn something new, or different that I can apply in my fishing, or file away for future reference.
The WaterBoy “cooler” reference made me laugh fasho 🤣🤣
Haha hell yes
Great video!
Thank you sir!
Always great video 🔥🔥
Appreciate it my friend!
Ooooo yes need that sucker and creek chub tutorial got hella white horse sucker in my river and no idea how to get them, never even caught one.
Nice. They're awesome bait dude!
River Certified River Certified good stuff giving pigpatrol a way to get a weight on these bigger fish.🦅
Where I’m from we call bull heads like that yellow bellies
SwanASF same here bub
Yeah that’s what we called them here in Central Ky too, well, the fellas that I grew up with and around!
I like em no matter what ya call em😁
River Certified - yeah buddy, I’m with you on that!
Im hearing banjos...jk i called em yellowbellies till i was corrected by my fellow angler who knew everything. Now im forced to identify them n now must refer to them in color/gender neutral terms s i dont offend them...😂
Nice bait tank and filter.
Thank ya!
Ok.. you should go to dollar general get a plastic Tupperware container about 4" long 2" or so wide and I'd say 3" or so deep. Make sure it's one if the locking snap lids. Get 3 dozen of worms or whatever and you have worms for a long time. I've had my worms for 3 months in mine. Cut holes for air and occasionally put some hay or newspaper for them to much on
Solid advice! Thanks man!
I caught about a 5-6 lb Brown Bullhead on a little black bullhead ( yellow belly) a long time ago, at a pond behind a vocational school, thought it was a small Flathead at first until I got to looking at it and checking it out. But I had caught another good size brown bullhead before that at a gravel pit and it was probably about 5 lbs or so. Good deal man, a lot of good bait!
Holy crap man those are freaks of a bullhead!
River Certified - yeah the brown bullheads are not as common as the other species of bullheads, but when you do catch one it’s usually a pretty good one! You catch one 4, 5, 6 lbs that’s generally a trophy! I didn’t know it at the time I caught those ones but the Ky record for Brown bullhead is or was like 5 lbs and something, I probably had one that beat that record just didn’t know it..! Oh yeah, another thing about the brown bullhead, most are mottled colored, like some flatheads are. That’s why I thought that one was a Flathead, until I got to checking it out good!
My grandmothers farm had nice size bullheads12" or bigger would catch a giant
Yes they would!
Even thought it is only a bait catching video it is really fun to watch!
You have tilapia there? Our rinky dink flats love them here
We do not. I used them when I fished around Rio Grand City though. Cast netted em out of the resacas.
Haha “like a narrative voice” my wife says the same to me! Totally understand. Cool bait tank though!
Atleast I'm not the only one. Thanks dude!
Great baitin River. Now go catch a giant please sir. And Paaaaa Poooooow
I got some big ugly fish videos coming thanks to those baits!
Hmm, learned something new. I used to fish Northern Iowa, when I lived there. I didn't know that you couldn't transport fish in water from the area caught.
Hopefully it saves ya a ticket😁
Thank you.
Would love to c how u set up your bank tank .I just got a small aquarium and they dont live as long as I like
Here ya go dude czcams.com/video/_UfWk1G2XFk/video.html
When I was a kid every farm pond had bullheads , about 15 years ago all the ranches started fertilizing pastures to produce better hay & the bullheads have about disappeared. My uneducated theory is that because of their diet and how they stay down in the mud on hot summer days here in Oklahoma the fertilizer run off effects them much more than fish that stay suspended in the water but 🤷🏻♂️
Thata interesting. They're tough to find for me too and I've heard they used to be everywhere in iowa too
might be the pezticidez
Arizona is one of the states where we can't transport any live fish (besides minnows and waterdogs). We have to catch all of our bait in the water we use them in. I wish we could transport, it would make some trips so much easier. We've had many trips where we don't even start flathead fishing until midnight. That's usually only in the middle of winter when the gills are gone and you can only catch a few carp. You definitely learn to catch bait in all situations/weather/temps,etc. lol
Dude that would make life tough! On a positive note, it definitely would force you to be a better fisherman!
River Certified Maybe a better bait fisherman 🤣 doesn’t always mean you can find the flatties!! Haha
Catching the bait is about as much fun as the fishing. My kids and nephews used to have a great time.
Finally made it back home!!!...…...Got pulled over.....wasn't speeding or anything...……..just a routine stop....checking for bait. …...made sure I wasn't transporting bait....Turns out I had 300 blue gill minnow in my truck. It's like holy shit....it's just my luck.
That's some pretty bad luck man. Bummer you can't transport bait
i would love to see you catch bait
Good deal!
Sometimes even the giants like a small bait..
Elephants eat peanuts dude
My man u r sooo goood loved it hope u get 20000
Me too😁 Glad you get a kick out of the videos!
Spenser I see you have to get 700 more likes to do another video like this from what you said, but I figured my fingers would fall off before I could rack up the likes. Hahaha Make sure you video that specked ginger bullhead when you put him on for bait so we can see if he's the lucky one. Tight lines from eastern Iowa man!
I definitely will! Hope it hits 2000. Ill probably make the video either way😁
Love bait videos! Gives me confidence to fish different areas
Glad it helps man!
What do you feed the fish in your tank?
I usually don't feed them. THey aren't in there that long😁
I also have a pond where I can catch bullheads, but they're all giants by bullhead standards...I can't for the life of me find any "small" ones...
The giants are my favorites!
Is that a new bait combo?
Yessir. Its one I'm testing out.
Awesome video 👍 brother 😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
I usually enjoy catching bait myself unless I'm in a time crunch or it hotter than the gates of hell. It's hard to find bullhead around my area I live that's so concentrated like that pond was. I can get as many bluegill big chubs and green sunfish as I cld ever use but not so many bullhead anymore. When I was a kid I use to catch them all day long in a few ponds I know of but idk what happend to them all.
I hear ya. Seems like I'm always in a time crunch unfortunately. Bullheads tend to cycle. 2-5 year old ponds that haven't been stocked with fish tend to get them.
I guess I now need to find the chubs and suckers videos now then!
I actually cover some helpful information in that one too!
So in IA are you allowed to take bait fish from one body of water to another? Here in NE it’s illegal... makes it difficult to use live bait for flatheads unless you get em from a bait shop or catch them in the same river/creek/lake...Great vid again sir!
Clearly Epic i just read our NE regs to clarify that point, and you are dead on. Keep your bait shop receipt! Also, can you explain why every other state gets multiple poles with lotsa hooks while we get stuck with 2/2? What did we do to piss our G&P Commission??
HuskerGator you can have 5 poles if your fishing in moving water (river/creek)... but yeah, it would be nice to have another pole.
Its definitely tough over there. Even worse cuz you can't use a cast net
Gonna go post up on the river today and hope for a monster hope I'm certified for this !!!💯😂☄
Good luck!
Here in my erea in North Carolina not all the waters have bullhead I can only catch them in the river and some small creeks there is non in the lakes
Must be a different species. These are black bullheads and they love poopy ponds
@@RiverCertified ever near the charlotte nc area hit me up i have a good flathead spot and some nice blues
Love the bait vids
I'll have to keep that in mind. I didn't really record any this year. I'll have to do a shad video once I head south.
Awesome video, Spencer! How often do you switch out the water in your bait tank?
Only once or twice a year. I clean the filter every 4-6 weeks though.
