Why don't we make movies like this anymore? Movies that make us happy and have a positive lingering effect. Movies that uplift you. Make you realise how beautifully we can live as a society - helping each other. True friendship, brother- sister relationship, mama-bhanja etc. Showed this to my soon to be 10 year old son yesterday and he loved it. Hope he develops a good taste in art and cinema. And yes, Hrishikesh Mukherjee was a legend.

I watched this movie more than 30 times and everytime I enjoyed it. Hrishikesh mukherjee was true legend and one of the best director. His all movies like chupke chupke, Anand, Golmaal, bawarchi, Namak Haram, Guddi, Mili, Abhimaan, Anupama, Khubsoorat, Naram Garam, bemisal etc etc were masterpiece. He was genius directors. Thanks to hrishikesh da for making so great movies and we are still watching his movies with out getting bored. Love u hrishikesh da❤

I watched this movie on doordarshan in 1993. I still have recollection of that day when my entire family watched this movie with utmost happiness. This movie laid the foundation of comedy movies in bollywood industry. All characters realized their full potential.

I had watched this movie at the age of 11 and today after 40 years i watched it for the second time. Memories are so fresh. Utpal Dattji, David sirji were in their mid or late fifties and they were enjoying their lives then. Now at 51 i feel that the life is over. Carrying too many old memories is also painful. That era was so nice. Simple and respectful people. No smartphones, no internet. Life was beautiful. Can't forget those days. Missing late parents with whom i had enjoyed this movie.
