It was just a movie. Not quite way ahead of it's time. Today's bollywood movies have just lowered the standard of movies. Which is why, rewatching the movies of 2000s and 2010s we feel like these movies were way ahead of their time.

Rockstar, Ye jawani hai diwani, jindagi na milegi dobaraa, love aj kal and many of these movie became cult classic because of their songs. Didn't enjoy watching a single one of them. Musical masterpiece with Ranbir's stunning acting without any doubt! But Honestly saying, after watching it, at first I expected that the film would mainly focus on the struggle of JJ's music career and would revolve around how he wrote or created good music and kept progressing, but instead it focused on the love angle more, and I was expecting more of his musical struggle since the film's name was ROCKSTAR, but whatsoever now I get that I should focus on what the director actually tries to convey and I agree it was portrayed beautifully, the most wrecked and yet somewhat beautiful love of JJ and Heer
