the distinction is; A "close fight" that is seen arguably 50/50 shouldnt be called a robbery, because it can be argued either way. A "close fight" that has clear winner, CAN be called a robbery.
Youre referring to the latter when you say most robberies are close fights. Correct, theyre close, but they have a fairly clear winner.
However if it is a 50/50 fight that is arguable either way, it should not be considered a robbery, as it is justified to score it either way.

Brendan Allen better not move up a single spot in the rankings. Curtis shouldn’t move down in rank
and you shouldnt leave stupid omments.
No more stupid omelets from you 😡
I actually think Curtis should move up. Not by much, but this was an excellent performance
@@GradeAmonster@GradeAmonster I honestly feel like if the UFC started doing this, it would actually incentivize fighters to put on much better fights.
Allen should move up 1 over vettori who pulled out
Lucas lowkey surpassing Guru in quality.
I feel like he surpassed Guru in quality a while ago. Lucas’s strong opinions just turn people off to his content.
Been that way for awhile for me. Guru constantly talking about mogging people and acting like he could run the ufc better than dana rubs me the wrong way.
I started off hating on this dude but I turned around on him recently. To the point where I’m enjoying his content more than guru lol
Guru just makes the same typical edgy jokes on the same types of videos, it's gotten old and he hasn't evolved, Lucas is genuinely funny and is always coming up with interesting video ideas, if he had gotten into the mma scene sooner he would have passed Guru by now

Allen is never gonna sniff a belt
I mean tbf tho we did say that about DDP too , i'm not surprised if it will somehow happen
@@QBC15facts bro I think Brendan will hold the belt eventually
@@QBC15DDP is a tank with insane power and is weirdly well rounded for the divison (sounds ridiculous i know). Allen isn’t any of these things
@@QBC15 DDP finished everyone
@@grump9283 he always has been a tank , but you should have seen the amount of hate that guy was getting. Even tho he finished Brunson you probably know that basically 70% of the mma community were calling him a fraud , fighting bums , shit cardio and all these kinds of stuffs. Especially when the whittaker fight was announced how many people said that DDP would absolutely never beat whittaker and even touch the belt. Mans a beast and proves that anything can happen no matter what ppl say
Chris deserves a shot at the top 10 after this performance
Agreed. Especially after doing the company a solid. I think he does well against some guys in the top 10. Top 5 would beat him imo, but I think he beats Vettori and Dolidze at least. Extremely hot take, but I think Chris could beat Khamzat, at least the one that fought tonight. Feels crazy that I just said that. Obviously he gets taken down but he defends the back so well and I value Allen's bjj more than Khamzat's. Khamzat subbed Li and Holland, but Allen subbed Craig which I value more. I think Khamzat takes Chris down but he could get up. Even if he doesn't I think he survives the bjj then the round starts on the feet and Khamzat will start to slow down. Then Chris should have an easier time defensively. But the body shots of Chris I think would gas out Khamzat bad and just make it worse for him. Then Khamzat prob takes him down and lays on him and Chris wins off damage. Extremely hot take
Chris always fights and takes everyone's best shots. I agree.
@@sethsolopow3226i agree with you bro, khazmat struggles with strikers and slug battles. curtis showed amazing submission defense i homedtly agree with you bro
@@TheKing-ki3mr it's actually crazy because people treated Chris like he's ass and tbf losing to lower ranked guys doesn't look good. But then you jump him up to the number 6 and he looks great. Crazy sport. People always talk about his takedown defence but the submission defence shocked me. Usually you see strikers who have good takedown defence but once they get taken down they are a sitting duck. But that wasnt the case for Chris at all. But yeah I see it the same way if he slugs with Chris he will lose. And Chris does his best work when people are coming to him, but loses to rangy strikers which Chimaev is definitely not
Agreed
49-46 Allen is insane, I hate the fact that a single takedown will win you a round even if you get hurt on the feet and do nothing on the ground

Sandhagen beat the Puffs out off Chito clearly & still ended up getting split decision instead of unanimous & on top of that Hasn’t fought for the belt yet that’s a robbery in my opinion
Because he’s been injured lol, he tore his shoulder in the Font fight and he’s been out since then, he’s rumored to only be returning in the Octagon in AUGUST, plus Merab’s wins are a lot better than Cory’s and better justify him getting a title shot anyway
I could be wrong, but I believe the Corey comment was in relation to the fact that Chito got a title shot over him, which is absolute bullshit imo@@tomatosauce9314
He made Chito look like an actual amatuer. He schooled him.
@@tomatosauce9314Wrong, it wasn't his shoulder, it was BOTH his triceps, even worse than the shoulders.

48-47 Allen.
Bad optics for the stuffed takedowns, but striking was very close that round.
Additionally, Allen was pouring on pressure at the end and it looked like Curt was close to getting finished. Injury or not, you have to score that.
Also, Chris Curtis is a hard guy to look good against

Chris won that 5th round CLEARLY smh
the 49-46 confirmed it for me, idk how you judge fights for a living and come up with that score
not every close fight is a robbery, but every robbery is a close fight
5th round shouldnt have even been a debate, Curtis clearly won it and the only succes Allen had was in the last 10 seconds when Curtis tore his hammy.
Allen was threatening a sub on the back for a good 2 minutes and stand out wasn’t dominant for Curtis. Not saying Allen won that round but it wasn’t clear as day
what? it doesnt matter whether he was injured or not, and fallen was beating him against the cage for those last 10 seconds, you don't just cut out a portion of the fight when judging just because of an injury
@TheKingandTheDawg I saw Curtis walking down Allen stuffing his takedowns and landing the bigger shots. I just don't know how Allen did enough, and I really don't know how a 49 46 card is even possible with this fight.
@@ronmka8931 Allen didn't even land any meaningful strikes despite Curtis being injured. You can't just cut out Allen getting fucking dogwwalked the rest of the round as his takedowns got stuffed and he was kissing the canvas.
@@jacobfink1999 rewatch the fight he was beating him up against the cage in those last seconds, and slumping to the floor isn't exactly a good indication you won that round
Brendan Allen might actually be the next Brunson at middleweight. He has horrible defense, some power, good grappling and mediocre cardio for the division
and going on win streaks by out grappling these bum MWs with bad grappling
He showed 10x the heart and took 10x the punishment brunson ever has in this fight
@@senordankk It honestly feels the same. Allen is a very good grappler with mediocre striking. He fraud checks the bad middleweights, has competitive fights with the top 15 middleweights and loses to the elite, any middleweight with bad grappling gets smoked by Allen which is nice.
Allen won so easily, can't believe it's even a discussion
I dont know what happened to his leg, but I get cramps a lot in my legs and I know it's 100% self inflicted if I flex my leg a certain way, it just cramps in those positions for some reason, something like that I would never consider damage as part of the fight, a broken bone is most likely caused by an impact from the opponent you don't just break your own arm somehow, I mean if you found a way to do that, like Burns for example, that's also a flukey self inflicted injury rather than 'damage'
We need more fire in the heavyweight division, we need a tom aspinall fight. Gotta stop it with these unranked heavyweoght fights. Its been like 4-5 months since tom destroyed sergei pavlovich. We meed tom in ufc301 against curtis blaydes.
Keep up the good work bud
congrats on getting so many right dude! great picks
Very Controversial Fight Night. Which fights did you count as robberies?
Hernandez and Curtis got screwed all the way to Saturn
Whatever picks you got correct
@@FVMan-rh4xw 5-0 allen
I thought Allen was more of a robbery than chepe and I’m not saying that because I took chepe and Curtis to win
@@BASEDGUARDMMA5-0allen
Best picks in the game man. Just shit on main events often and people don’t know how accurate you are on everything else . Yes I’m glazing the glazer
I feel for Chris Curtis here, I really thought he won here, and getting robbed and injured in the same night is just rough for the poor dude. Fantastic fight and performance though.
I would say Chris got R2, R3, and R5. In R5, yeah Brenden had a moment at the end but I genuinely think that was cause something snapped in Chris’s hamstring rather than damage Brenden did, and aside from that Chris was winning the round with harder and slightly better shots. With just how this injury happened and how it occurred I don’t see it as being damage really cause by Brenden here. Kinda like the Fiziev fight a while ago where he tore his ACL, that wasn’t really because of Gamrot, but he did win the fight because of that injury.
Overall I think some injuries like breaking an opponents orbital bone, or hurting a leg or with a stomp, and what other injuries of that nature; that’s clear damage caused by an opponent, but this just looked like something snapped when he was getting up and that is what let Brenden land some shots after.
The fight was great, and very close but I do feel that Chris got robbed in this one. I hope he doesn’t move down in the ranks cause he certainly shouldn’t, and I’d love to see him get a chance to break into the lower part of the top 10 with his next fight.
You have to count the injury as damage. If that happened a round earlier and the fight would've been stopped as win for Brendan Allen. So for me it's real simple, Curtis got into that round with 2 working legs, and ended the round with 1 less working leg. That's damage.
Another incredible video Flukas
😬🤯🤓🤓
lol, close fights can't be "robberies". A robbery is when you take a fight that one fighter *clearly* won and hand the decision to the other fighter. It has to be self-evident who won the fight before the announcement is made. If a fight is close, then it can't possibly be self-evident who won the fight before the announcement is made, so it can't be "robbery" because it was a toss-up. Even if you think there's a clear point at which one round should have gone to a specific fighter that would have resulted in a UD, if the judges don't see it that way, that doesn't make it a robbery.
i dont understand why people try to define a robbery as something different. a robbery is when the person who won shouldnt have won nothing else.
The lack of consistency between judges per round is crazy. Makes it seem like it’s pretty much just guess work. So unreliable.
Doesn't really matter if you "count" the damage at home. That isn't what the judges saw. They saw a knockdown. Really good fight. Love Eric Nicksick and the whole team down at Xtreme. If you paying close attention this fight was valuable insight on the surging team, even on a loss a really good showing on short notice.
lil bro has the worst takes
My reaction to the Cesar Almeida win was exactly the same, Cesar’s grappling wasn’t even that bad on DWCS either, thought it was pretty obvious he’d win
48-47 Allen. Curtis is a difficult opponent for seemingly elite competition. Crisp boxing and excels at midrange exchanges. He tends to struggle when he’s pressured towards the cage, or finds himself in the clinch. Close bout.
i was screaming for curtis to knocked allen tf out but still its a clear allen win. these tiktok fans is making the sport looks bad.
Curtis isn’t that good Imanov smoked him easily, this is a bad look for Brendan for arguably losing this one
Yeah I wouldn't say Curtis is exceptional but he's a tough out. Having solid boxing and great takedown defense makes you a problem for most fighters
hope we get to see daniel zellhuber vs ignacio bahamondes at ufc noche in september
I don’t know about Hernandez getting robbed, he crushed my parlay and I was shocked when it was split
You bring up a good point. Its hard. Like if someone gets punched then their jaw gets broken then I count it because the other fighter did the damage. But with this it looked like Chris got up then when you slow it down you could see where his muscle got fucked up and it was when he stood on it. Its hard for me to score it for Allen because it didnt look like he did that damage. We just need clearer rules. I gave it to Curtis and I kinda edged the 4th to him too tbh but giving it to Allen makes sense too. I just think Curtis got more of a reaction out of Brendan and landed more pop. Xtreme Couture can't catch a break on these close fights fr
Control time is no longer a criteria FYI.
charriere definitely wasn’t as busy as mariscal, but he started gassing in the third and the damage was accumulating for sure.
Tracy lucas actually makes a fire point outside of his normal gibberish are injuries counted towards damage if it’s clearly not the intent of the move???
Imavov styled on full camp Curtis so I’d like to see him vs Allen next
Wish judges looked at petr yans ground game against o malley like this
You can give it Allen becaude I think the injury happened while Curtis was defending a takedown also of it was the same leg Allen had in the leg lock that might also be factor weird people right off injuries as if the opponent didn’t cause them it’s literally damage
Lucas "On the fence" Tracy
I think 48-47 Allen but either way I would have agreed with
Joanderson Brito is the prospect
Lucath Thracey putting in the work
Allen won that fight! I had it 38-38 into 5th round and Allen CLEARLY ! won the 5th round, despite his unique technique to rest up and gain energy to explode on the 5th.. he clearly won that 5th.
Please rewatch the 5th round. He clearly lost the 5th until the last 30 seconds 😂
I don’t agree with the decision but i don’t think it’s a big thing to fuss about, we getting ufc 300 next week so we good baby
Trevor Peek and Charlie Campell deserve a bonus for their performance in my opinion, that was a good fight!
I don’t think Curtis has ever had to get that sharp! But he did prove he can move up in that decision
Vettori vs Curtis book it rn
ignacio "remember the legs" bahamondes
watch Diego Sanchez vs Martin Kampaman. Martin literally demolished Diego and busted his face up so bad, each round was a 10-8 almost you could argue Diego just survived and got the decision.
I almost forgot about the Charriere robbery 15:04
Just like how every thumb is a finger but not all fingers are thumbs tracey needs to understand not all close fights are robberies just because most robberies come from close fights
I’m tired of control time meaning winning the fight. In what world does holding someone down means you win a fight. Every time a wrestler gets wobbled they just fall onto their opponent and goes on to be a wet blanket. There’s a difference between damaging an opponent while on the ground and just laying there.
I really feel like that French dude was robbed, maybe I’m crazy but I felt he done enough damage
I could see him getting the win. Definitely looking forward to his next fight, dude has potential
He did
0:41 we were close to when a Chito nearly got the win against Cory
I'm sorry but Allen won 48-47. Very competitive fight, but Allen won 3 rounds for sure.
Also: Charriere won, he got "robbed". As for Jackson vs Hernandez, the right pick was Damon Jackson.
0:43 paddy v. gordon
Lucas is brain dead
Brendan Allan won but man it was close af
By definition.. a close fight cannot be a robbery
Ikr. Whats worse is he says ppl are casuals if they think otherwise. Lol
What does this combination of words mean
A close fight can absolutely be a robbery. Wdym by definition?
@@roodyburnarnarif it’s a close fight then it was not a robbery because it was a close fight.. a robbery is when there’s an obvious winner but he loses then fight
Competitive would be a better word for it
Curtis was not winning 4 minutes of the 5th he clearly lost the round, his only moment was the knee which landed in allens armpit so not as big a shot as it looked
28:17 i have never seen Lucas this hype and i love it😂😂

Allen won the fight . 3-2 .
how good is jack the crafty man hermansson?
Props to Lucas Tracy for a clean card the mma guru is honestly pathetic now trash talking the people who donate to him/mildly disagree with his takes MAJOR GLAZING ALLEN even after the slop that Allen just shit out Guru was glazing his performance
Let’s just say arguing if Alexander hernandez beat Damon Jackson or not is an L for what we thought hernandez was before cowboy.
Allen vs vettori next
The only fights that weren't close and ended in robberys were Bisping vs Hammill "Matt Hamill dominated that pillar to post but they gave it to Bisping in England", Bisping vs Henderson "how many times did Hendo knock Bisping down?" and GSP vs Hendricks "Hendricks dominated the striking, out wrestled GSP, rocked GSP and even caused way more damage" . I also dont think the Strickland vs Dricus was close as people think, it was pretty obvious Strickland won 3 rounds and you can argue 4, outlanded Dricus and caused way more damage.
I had Damon > Alex as my underdog in parlay and Allen > Curtis
Needless to say, I was about to shit a brick on both of those decisions but it went my way so I'm not complaining.
I will say I thought Damon won the second round but that's just IMO.
Keep in mind again Allen was ready to lay on his back and let Curtis have top position aka accept defeat..... Even Felder said ooh man thats a bad look
Chris’s body shots were amazing in the later rounds and he really started to find his groove, if you judge the fight off damage i got curtis 245 because in each of those rounds he rocked allen and made him shoot a panic takedown that he did nothing with besides failed rnc attempts
235*
Robbed 😭
People need to understand the judges main job is to have employment, if it’s a close fight & they give the win to the fighter that they know the ufc wants to win they are more likely to be employed for the next fight card 🤔
If Allen didn’t throw that flying knee, Curtis wouldn’t of gotten injured. That damage counts.
lucas i wish you’d take more time for cards and pick every fight like the mma guru
I think going into the 5th it was 2-2 and I thought Curtis won the 5th he like tore his acl w 5 seconds left but that was his round
Allen won I don’t want to see people coping about it 😂
Did Conor lose his last fight against Dustin?
Lucas doesn’t understand swing rounds
Did we watch the same fight ? Walker got on bottom position because went for an armbar not because he got reversed .
To me regardless of the decision this was a really dumb performance from Allen and I can’t bet a wrestler who will stand and box with a boxer for half of a 25 minute fight even if he Won the fight I can’t trust him to win doing that shit man bad gameplan from both guys! CURTIS SHOULDNT STAND UP A DYING FIGHTER 5 TIMES, and Allen should be consistent and really smother with the wrestling next time, don’t strike with a striker
The UFC couldnt let the face of Fight Nights lose lol..
How is a "robbery" a "very close fight" as you put it? 😂
Banger card
I wouldn't take the injury too into consideration no shit curtis chance of getting injured was way higher than allens for this fight and you can't really say that allen 100% caused it, bad look for him anyway
Got rocked and took Curtis back for 30 seconds .. he was on him for over a minute or 2 lol
Not every close fight is a robbery, but every robbery is a close fight.
Bullshit, Paddy vs Jared Gordon wasn't close just a robbery
Middle weights suck, I think we can all agree on that..
