- We at Bodnik Bows are proud to be the producer of the Shrew Bows for Ron LaClair. The 60" Super Shrew II is incredible smooth! I really enjoyed to shoot the first of the new Super Shrew II. Draw Weight Curve is attached at the end of the vid.
I’m lucky enough to own a Bodnik Quick stick and a Supper shrew II. The quick stick is a very smooth all round bow. The super shrew is a more refined bow with all the smoothness and a little extra flick. I will never pick up another bow, the shrew is without a doubt the best bow in the world!!

looks liike headshots are very veryvery easy with this lol. i love how silent it is....and yeah ive never seen a bow this smooth! well besides my old olympic bow i had when i was younger it was only 30 pound though lol.
Wow, that beautiful shape at full draw. I have the slick stick and absolutely love it. I have several custom bows and I love the slick stick, can't seem to put it down. I think if the super shrew come in 55# I might need to start saving for a future birthday present😆

high henry. ron was a nice guy and great archer. u definately have more reflex in the drawn limb. rons bow looked a bit more like a ancient egytian bow which appeared slightly less reflex. i'm sure some of the knowledge gained from the slick stick went into this bow. for 30# it looks quite quick. up to 33 in. draw should be very smooth. good shooting by the way. good job. thank yew gare

Actually the Shrew looks more like the Assyrian composite bow. The unstrung Shrew has an uncanny resemblance to one found in an Egyptian tomb that scholars believe is Assyrian in origin. Reference: Balfour, H. 1897, On a remarkable ancient bow and arrows believed to be of Assyrian origin, Journal of the Anthropological Institute, 26: 210-20. You can see this via Google books.

Wow. That bow is quiet. I'm looking for a new bow for western US big game hunting...would you recommend the super shrew? I've got a 29.5" draw and currently shoot a 65lb palmer recurve. If not the super shrew, what would be your recommendation? Thanks!
Hello Jon, yes, Shrew bows are extremely quiet! They do have a 30 years old history in bowhunting. Great old Michiganian brand. Recommending a 54" Classic Hunter II for your 29" draw. Very nice looking bow! I reckon the finger pinching will be quite uncomfortable at higher drawweights because it is so short?
LongbowArchery Thanks for your comment. Finger pinch is pretty comfortable. Bending process in the end of the limbs is less to eliminate finger pinch to a min. The strong reflex of the limbs also optimizing the bending process of the limbs in the matter of finger pinch too. So the 60“ Super Shrew is a nice comfortable bow st all. I‘m shooting with my 30“ draw a 54“ Shrew.

Just received mine this morning and it is beautiful and shoots straight but the amount of hand shock the bow generated was over the top and very disappointing !! I waited 5 months for the build and delivery and in 15 minutes gave it away to a 12 year old archer I didn't even know who fell in love with its looks !! At least it found a happy home !!!

I think if bowlength will fit your draw length and the set up of the bow and arrow will be done right there will be no noticeable hand shook.

Impressive flat trajectory at 40+ yards for a 30-pounder. I was researching the slick stick but the shrew seems even better. Now I'm reconsidering.

The bow seems a dream. For 30# very flat trajectory and a beautiful combination of woods. Riser is just beautiful. Does this bow come in longer versions? Like 64 or 66 inches?
I'm 3d shooter only and I like my bows to be longer for stability reasons. I see though that limb bending at full draw could easily accommodate longer draws even in this 60 inch version.

Der Bogen ist wirklich toll, die Frage nach der Länge war nur Kuriositäts wegen.
Ich mochte auch wissen, wie wäre für mich die leichteste Möglichkeit hier in EU dieser Bogen zu kaufen, und welche vergleichbare Bodnik Bogen wurdest du empfehlen? Wichtig: ich bin nur in sogenannte Langbogen oder Hybride interessiert, keine Recurves.

Received the Super Shrew 2 this morning and while it is a beautiful quiet bow that shoots straight the hand shock is absolutely atrocious !! Personally on a comfort level I found it to be totally non-shootable !!!! As luck would have it a local 12 year old archer loved the looks so I let him shoot it for a bit and seeing he really liked it I gave it to him with a dozen arrows that worked for him !! At least the bow found a good home !!
Sorry to read you got not happy with your Super Shrew! To bad you did not contacted me for any help. Even for a recommendation before ordering a Shrew.
There are many simple fact affecting shooting comfort of a bow.
Right bowlength and right setups of bow, string and arrows will help a lot.

Looking to get a super shrew. Not real sure if I need to get the 58” or the 60 inch. What draw weight would you say would be sufficient for target shooting and hunting?

Why does anyone do the fake second anchor movement. In truth theirs more power in the bow but he doesn’t know how to get into his back for engagement. At Release he’s coming forward than fakes back tension.
