All 157 books mentioned are in the description! hope you find some great 5 star reads! 💪
One of my favorite YA fantasy series to read with my AP Spanish students was La ciudad de las bestias / The City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende. My students loved it and even though I’m no longer in the classroom, I enjoy reading this series every couple of years. Nobody ever talks about it, but I’m ever so happy I’ve had so many years to turn people on to this very cute series.
Oh man! I never read it but it’s been in my TBR for ages! Thanks for recommending!
This is a great list! - there were a few entries that I haven't seen talked about very much (or at all) which is always a great surprise!
So happy to read that!!
I've read a few fantasy books through my life, but just recently I've been so into it. I got a feeling that it might be one of my favorite genres. It's so exciting to know that there's so many great books that I can pick ❤ And your videos are helping me to pick my next reads so thank you!
Congratulations! 16k!!!! I've never realised that you had light in your shelves! (i saw the green light behind the Dandelion Dynasty lol)
Hahaha thank you so much love! I dooo! Usually is very subtle! I went all in for the b-roll haha
Congrats on 16K, and thank you for your hard work on this! Lists like these are always more telling than something arbitrary created by one person. I've actually read 6 of these with no interest in two of the others (Pierce Brown, Cassandra Clare) and the other two on my TBR for sometime in the future (Ruocchio, Dinniman).
Of the 6 I've read, they were all awesome. I hope you read The Spear Cuts Through Water soon! In a few years I'm sure it'll be looked back on as a modern classic of the genre.
Ahhh thank you so much! I can’t believe I hit 16k! I definitely need to read Spear Cuts Through Water!
Starting "The Will of the Many" today! Intrigued by the "will" magic system and rebellion rumors. Anyone else reading?
I just came to say that I envy you haha I would gladly love to experience The will of the many for the first time!
I read it three months ago and have twice since then. Very exciting
wasnt expecting empire of silence..lets go!
I loved the 1st two in the dandelion dynasty!! I neeed to watch a recap of book 2 n then read the next book
I also need to start book 3!!!
I enjoyed the characters in Swordcatcher but no magic really happened until the end, idk it wasn’t for me. I really enjoyed The Tainted Cup as it was a mystery in a fantasy world. Can’t wait to read more of Robert Jackson Bennett’s work. I definitely want to read the books you have on this list, many on my tbr. Love getting more into the fantasy world.
Ohhh I hope you love Founders Trilogy! It is such a trip haha
It's worth reading it just for the one scene where Sancia pokes Crasedes with a stick, it's been a year since I read it and I'm still not over it and probably never will be 🤣🤣
I’ve read these all but will of the many but it’s been on my tbr since pre release coz I loved licanius ahhhh! Also not finished Stormlight yet!!!
Omg! But but but! You need to read The Will of the Many!!!
My most anticipated series are stormlight and the sun eater but I hate starting series that are ongoing. Do we have release dates for when the final books will be released? Stormlight 5 might be the closest as I've heard the final draft has been written?
Stromlight 5 - Dec 6 2024
Thanks for the recommendations. I really love your channel and your personality is so warm and friendly. But if I could offer an opinion, i feel that it feels lately as if the content is not very diverse, just 4 weeks ago you posted 10 fabrasy books recommended by readers. Of course, i know how hard it is to create content and you can post what you want in your own channel. And hopefully this criticism came across as respectful and constructive as I intended.
I will really have to give Dungeon Crawler Carl a try, won't I? I have seen it around for years, but lately it is everywhere! I don't think it will be up my alley, but I was also not expecting it to be up yours, so!
Hahahaha I think it will be a “fine” book for you! Btw, I am reading The Hexologists and dare I say I am enjoying it?
@@FunFantasyBooks By Bancroft? Which reminds me of our failed buddy read of Senlin 🥲 Though I've heard they are pretty different!
Great CZcamsr
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 🥹
I loved The Tainted Cup.
It was such a fun book!
Sun eater is my favorite series of all time
I would suggest you to read Voyagers of hell, if you want to try something original in fantasy genre. It's brilliant in its out of the box storytelling.
Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Just a curious question, are you bilingual? I've seen some books in spanish there :D Cheers from Argentina
I'm ashamed to say I have not read any of these books 🤡 I do have 2 of them on my physical TBR though, so fingers crossed I get to them this year!
I actually avoid r/fantasy because I've heard some uncomfortable horror stories about them from r/cozyfantasy and r/queersff. I read mostly new books this year and my faves so far are The Tainted Cup, When Among Crows, and A Letter to the Luminous Deep. I might read Dungeon Crawler Carl sometime later this year.
Oh! Never heard about When Among Crows or A Letter to the Luminous Deep! Thanks for sharing!!
I swear every niche part of a group says shit about the larger collective. In the end it’s just there being more people means more hate etc not that they are really worse.
@@FunFantasyBooks I forgot to add, but thank you for making the full list of 157 books!!💕
❤❤❤❤
I’ve only read the first sun eater book, I’m going to continue but oh I despise Hadrian so so much. Am I the only person that loved oathbringer? Lol
I notice you sometimes have the Spanish addition sometimes the English edition have you read any of these in both languages and does it change your feeling s about a book.
Usually I have Spanish editions of books I bought a long time ago, but nowadays I prefer to read in English and avoid the translations!
Maybe I should give Malice another go? I was 66% in and I was kinda bored. Someone tell me it’s worth it please lol
It’s more than worth it, Ruin might be one of the best fantasy books of all time
Where's your doggie? :)
Hahaha she decided to nap at the time of filming 🥲
Don’t get Empire of Silence. Was so bored. Ended up DNF
Vita est nil nisi papilionis somnium
Līf ne biþ būtan buterflēogan swefn
Dont listen to Red Rising audiobook. You’ll end up hating Darrow and everything about the book.
Maybe that’s what it was. I have no desire to continue the series at all!
Hahaha I actually listented to Red Rising but in Spanish so can’t add my 2 cents here!
@@edwardsjarje I’m almost done reading the first book. But I got to the first “shock” moment with the audio book then I just couldn’t take it anymore and stuck to reading. It ruined that part of the book for me lol.
is it the graphic/dramatized audiobook or the normal version?
Maybe that’s why I haven’t enjoyed Red Rising. I’ve tried 4 times to listen to the audio book and DNF each time.
Jopetas, nunca sale mi Shauna... dale publi copon, que no se la lee nadie y entonces nunca sale Xd
Jajajajaja haré un vídeo de underrated soon!!
Not all of these are Fantasy. Many are Science Fiction (Empire of Science, Red Rising, etc.). You should probably change the title of the video to "10 Best Fantasy and Science Fiction books (according to 300 Readers)."
