Know you guys like a giveaway 😁 Happy Christmas guys!! Quick one, make sure to subscribe if you want to see who wins cos I’ll be announcing it on my CZcams community tab! P.s, this video was almost done and I hadn't been given Video Boost access until it was almost finished 🤪 So sorry the testing on this wasn't quite as thorough as I'd like it to be! Maybe i'll re-visit it in a full video.
Nice video review on the Pixel 8 pro, sir. Definitely the red button for me. Pixels are just unbeatable in the phone camera market when it comes to stills.
I know Pixels have been far behind when it comes to competing with the quality of the iPhones video, but since Video boost has arrived, I feel Google is catching up, they just need to figure out a way to do it locally on the chip as opposed to on the servers and that would be the reason why I'm going with the red button ✅
I've recently became intrigued by Google Pixel phones, particularly impressed by the camera quality. The fact that they do not wash out the colors is a crucial feature for me. Would love to try one myself. Red button of course.😁
Considering all the customisations Android permits, I'd go with the red button 🖍️. This would be the perfect gift to my little brother, he's been using a Mi A1, a stock Android phone since 2017 and as an elder brother I know he'll love it because he already has gcam mods installed on his phone so the jump to a real device with the OG camera, the smile on his face would be pleasent to be captured 💫
The way Google has impressively improved the "a" series ever since the 7a really piques my interest to their decisions on. The 8a. Till then, both phones are a bit too expensive for the performance they are having. Of course the photos are revolutionary in terms of what was needed to be done when you wanted to take a photo. But overall I still think they can improve the lot.
Ofcourse Red Button , the Google Pixel 8 Pro delivered a good photo performance across all test attributes. Target exposure was generally accurate, despite some occasional slight underexposure of the subject. Color was accurate and pleasant, especially the skin tones. The camera also did a good job at freezing motion, thanks to a fast autofocus and zero shutter lag. The texture/noise trade-off was quite good, with good detail and well-controlled noise across all light conditions. In addition, images were almost free of unwanted image artifacts.
You are the first person that I've seen testing the video boost feature and I liked how you made it short and clear while also including your opinion, keep it up! And I would pick the red button
Sir your review of smartphones and their cameras is spot on! I love how you captured the essence of each device and highlighted their unique features. Your photos really showcase the capabilities of the smartphone cameras, and your attention to detail is impressive. Keep up the great work and keep sharing your awesome smartphone photography tips with us! 🤩👏 (Of course i would choose the Red button.)🟥
I'd opt for the red button as well. Testing the camera along the Mediterranean coast would provide a fantastic opportunity to truly assess its performance in real-life scenarios. I envision capturing casual shots of daily life, picturesque landscapes, portraits, and, naturally, exploring its versatility by shooting some videos.
Having made the switch from the 4a5g to the 6 Pro last year, the Pixel series has become my tech soulmate. 📱✨ The attention to detail is unmatched, and each upgrade feels like a leap into the future. Ready to hit that 'red button' and capture every moment in stunning detail. 🎥 Bring on the excitement, can't wait for the next level of Pixel perfection! 🌟 #Pixel8Pro #TechEnthusiast"
Been a fan of Pixels ever since Pixel 2 XL and it keeps getting better. Just need to catch up more with the SoC, but when they switch to TSMC it is going to change. Love both iPhones and Pixels, yet somehow I enjoy using Pixels more. With that said, Pixel 2XL and 4XL works perfectly fine to this day.
@@ItsTomRich More or less yes, Google been already working on real in-house configuration for quite awhile, and should be frabricated on TSMC node around Pixel 10 and Tensor G5. Yet upcoming Samsungs 3nm GAAFET seem very promising and rivaling TSMC.
it really is impressive what Google has archieved in their camera and software department. I remember using the pixel 3 XL and just being blown away with what that phone could archieve with only one camera. compared to other phone manufactures at that time google was just ahead of its time. From what i heard the new Google Pixel 8 lineup is no differnet, focusing hardly on the software side rather then going all out on the hardware like most companies nowdays. I personally really like what Google has achieved, and would be happy to try the new pixel 8 pro 😍.
Google Pixel has been always catching my attention since they released their first version, they have distinct and unique design, and obviously they have one of the best camera software and hardware synchronization from a smartphone. i contemplated a lot when i finally decided to get my first smartphone in 2019. I was so in doubt to choose between Samsung Galaxy S9+ or Google Pixel 2XL, and after some long research and consideration, i finally chose Pixel 2 XL (Panda version) and never regret it. As a person who loves photography, people around me were always amazed with how outstanding the pictures i took with Pixel. And believe it or not, i'm still using the phone, despite with some broken screen and degraded battery life. I know Pixel 2 XL is already an outdated device for this year but since i'm not in the place to afford anything right now so i don't have a choice, and i still love my phone hehe. If i have to choose between blue or red, i'll pick red since i wanna experience the upgrade from my previous device, especially from the camera side, which i know it'll be much better, especially in taking photos and video with natural tone. I admit in terms of videography, Iphone is my choice, but for overall aspects like the camera who keeps getting imprevements, insane AI implementation. unique design, and everything else i'll still pick Pixel. Just wish i could get a new job next year so i can get a new phone haha
Red button all the way especially with the video boost feature i think it kinda levels out the video quality with the iphone 15 pro max and since all the sensors are better now with wider apertures no doubt about it
going with red button, of course. Camera features really upgraded and the software on Pixel, it really is for photographers or to people that has interest in capturing moments.
Red button for sure. I am currently using a Pixel 6a and I really love the photos taken by this phone. The newer processor and lenses of the Pixel 8 made some big improvements in terms of photo quality. Overall, you can't go wrong having a Pixel phone in your pocket especially when taking photos. Great review! Thank you for taking the time to do this review.
Been an Apple fanboy for a long time but would love to try out the Pixel 7A and see if I make up my mind to switch to Pixel 9 when it releases next year. Pixel has been gaining quite a bit of ground so I am curious to see if changing my whole eco-system will be worth it.
It's great to see that Google is finally catching up with their competitors in the video category. It's quite a long process to boost a video since it isn't done locally, tho. But as someone who mainly shoots photos, I think Pixel would be the better phone. So yeah, red button all the way!
I'm definitely hitting red button, Pixels seem to me more fun to use on a daily basis, Its UI gives good response and right amount of customization but not too much as Xiaomi and Vivo does and Iphone in this aspect is kinda boring, Also the fact that Pixel 8 will be updated to 2030 is insane
Red button for sure, I appreciate Google Pixel phones for their exceptional camera quality, stock Android experience, timely software updates, seamless integration with Google services, high build quality, and sometimes unique features like Active Edge.
I always enjoy your videos, since they come from a photographers viewpoint. I would love a comparison against older Pixels, like the Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 and Pixel 6A. Red, this will be my 1st google phone, I have always had Samsung, an always ask in stores what's the best camera, and a young lad really praised these up and I can’t wait to try
Absolutely loved your take on the Google Pixel 8 Pro's camera! Your review felt so genuine, especially when you delved into the real-world photography examples. The low-light shots blew me away, and the dynamic range seems like a game-changer. Seriously considering this for my next phone upgrade now. Thanks for the awesome review - your insights make a big difference! 📸👏 p.s I'd choose the red button
I always get so excited about pixel than any other smartphone out there. Those AI stuff , Software experience and Camera is what matters most to a pixel fan.
Definitely Red button!! I am fan of pixel even though i’ve never had one. I love watching numerous Pixel reviews here in YT, including yours. The functionality of pixel, not just the cameras but also the software are sublime. So pixel it is!
Red button, without a blink! Got a Pixel 7 in a offer without much expectations, but it's proving me since then as an underdog!! I love the Pixel look and almost everyone is impressed with the pictures I'm sharing 😄
The consistent improvement in Google's "a" series, starting from the 7a, captivates my curiosity about their choices for the 8a. However, until now, both phones seem somewhat pricey considering their performance. Undoubtedly, the cameras have brought revolutionary changes in simplifying photo-taking processes. I would choose the Pixel 8 Pro because despite having worse video capture on default, it would allow me to play around with apps like mcpro240fps that allow log video capture to hopefully match it up to the apple in post. Since small changes in quality is mostly important for film making, it makes setting up more complex apps like mcpro24fps worth it for that scenario. The fact that the camera quality is good and the infinite backup to cloud would make it worth it.
Red no doubt. Been using google pixel 2 for almost 5 years now and people actually think that the picture i took is from iphone 12 and up. It's actually crazy, and the sofware experience is so good, not as in you have 500 features but as 'you can do this, but everything we do, we do it better'.
Red button all the way. Ive always been in love with the pixel. The camera, the design, and most of all the software. It's just so silky smooth and pretty
Going red button for this one. I've had friends who owned pixel phones in the past and let me tell you that night shots in pixel blows the night shots of iphones out the water. But that was years ago, iphones has come a long way and has now caught up to the game. Its amazing seeing phone cameras evolve so quickly in just a couple of years.
Desperately punching the red button .My Nokia 3.4 is a dinosaur. The Pixel 8 is a rocket. Tom make the world a better place by bringing to life this rags to riches story. Happy holidays!

Definitely red button, despite the Pixel lacking in terms of performance (midrange-like), I like doing photography, and right now my Pixel 4a is doing the job well, I also just wanna say that these "Photographer's Review" are really appreciated as you guys are actually the ones that know cameras too well :)
For me, I'll choose Red (Pixel). Which is what I already did last December, when i traded my iphone 14 pro with the Pixel 8 pro. I like the Iphone's ecosystem, I think it is still the best and one thing that I cannot give up is the mackbook. Which was the reason why I was alwasy stuck to choosing the Iphone. But here in the Philippines, it is not only a $200 difference between the Pixel and Iphone pro max, iphone's price cost almost twice as much as the Pixel pro model. So Considering the price, and the almost identical performance, for the first time I tried the Pixel 8 pro and I was not dissapointed. And I was happy to found out that most of the things that I can do with an Iphone and a macbook, can be done with the Pixel and macbook combination, like sending/receiving text through the computer.
Thank you so much for this review. Both Google Pixel 8pro and iPhone 15 pro are out of my price range. Your recent video reviewing MKBHD's phone camera video drew my attention to the Google Pixel 7a. Thats the the phone I am getting, so the Red Button it is.
I've been sitting on that red button for a couple of years now, so Pixel it is. Can't imagine daily driving an iPhone for myself because of its software experience, and I absolutely love the look that Google Pixel phones give to their pictures, which is the most important aspect of a flagship phone to me, and I haven't seen quite that look anywhere yet. Good to know that the Pixel 8 Pro is still moving in that direction, all that is missing from this phone lineup right now is a more performant processor.
Regardless of which button you choose, the reality is, you can only do so much of what you have, what you can afford and the preference you like. I was actually waiting to hear that “this video is actually shot through this google phone.” Happy new year. And happy new phone to me. Manifesting. 😂😅
Since Google has launched the first phone Nexus One I bought it and continued for the ease of use compared to Samsung phones I used to like the most. I hired a photographer for my Donair restaurant to take photos, amongst all the photos I added one item after which is still outstanding and that was taken by Pixel 3 XL. It is still appreciated by professional photographers. I am extremely happy to have a phone, watch and buds pro. These are added as my best friends that cannot stay away from them even a single day. Moreover, I'm so excited for software updates now and then. And it's not to forget about free updates until 2030.
Great review, Tom. I really liked the Pixel 8 Pro, however, I would like it even more if I did not have to have my pictures processed in the cloud (I know it's a personal thing). My idea is to ditch my real cameras and just use the phone to take photos from now on.... I like to travel as light as possible.
♥️ Red no doubt. Been using google pixel 2 for almost 5 years now and people actually think that the picture i took is from iphone 12 and up. It's actually crazy, and the sofware experience is so good, not as in you have 500 features but as 'you can do this, but everything we do, we do it better'
After watching the video, I would definitely go for the Pixel. You gave a very clear idea of the camera which I use the most in a smartphone. Good review. 10/10.
I've been an iPhone user for years, but I've been increasingly interested in picking up a Pixel the past few years. I still love my iPhone and iOS, but I'm tempted to take the leap and try out Android again
I have been using multiple phones right now (iPhone 13 pro, Samsung ultra s23, huawei etc). But I never tried a pixel Looks really good I even made the blind camera test and liked pixel the most so far. What a great camera. Red button for sure!
I would pick the red button. The Pixel 8 Pro showcased a commendable image quality in all aspects of the evaluation. The intended exposure was predominantly precise, notwithstanding occasional minor under-lighting of the subject. The color representation was exact and appealing, particularly the hues of the skin. The device also excelled in capturing movement, owing to a swift autofocus and absence of shutter delay. The balance between texture and noise was quite impressive.
And this is still without the coming updates for the camera software. I used to have a Pixel 6 and it was just getting better and better over time in terms of camera features and image quality at least 😅. Team Red all the way
Definitely looking at getting into the Google Pixel family. The more I see these reviews, the more I feel it'd be a good upgrade over my 5 year old Oneplus. I've gotten to wear I don't break out my Canon very often anymore, and having a phone that can provide photos good enough for moments would be nice.
I enjoyed your video! I started out with a Pixel 3A then went to a 5A and now use the 7Pro. I've been then considering if there's enough improvements to consider going to the 8Pro. Best, Duuane

Damn.. This is the phone of my dream. But I can never afford it. Would love to take pictures with it.

Watching this from Kigali but I have to say Pixel phones are improving significantly especially software wise.
Great comparison video!!
In the context of photos, the only downside I think is it cannot take a quick burst of photos like iPhones.

Red button for sure! Can't wait for getting e pixel 8 pro...
Red button 😊 coz I am going to buy pixel 7a next month .. just a little afraid of the heating issue. Love your videos from india🇮🇳❤
Google Pixel phn is my dream phone.. and your video is also great to watch..
Awesome video mate! Please keep it up 👍
♥️ Red no doubt. Been using google pixel 2 for almost 5 years now and people actually think that the picture i took is from iphone 12 and up. It's actually crazy, and the sofware experience is so good, not as in you have 500 features but as 'you can do this, but everything we do, we do it better'
Only one comment will be counted :)
@@ItsTomRich DANG IT. guess I'm not winning but thanks for noticing
Welcome to the channel :)
After watching the video, I would definitely go for the Pixel. You gave a very clear idea of the camera which I use the most in a smartphone. Good review. 10/10.
Red is the only option. I change from iOS to android last year and I love it.
Red button! As a photographer I love the Pixel 🔥
But I never tried a pixel
Looks really good
I even made the blind camera test and liked pixel the most so far. What a great camera. Red button for sure!
Thank you for your very detail description review of the Pro 8, I've learned some new things. Best.
Kind request to everyone please push this video as much we can because this creator needs a Higher l
wauw the new google pixel 8 pro looks amazing
I am tired of same reviews but you and spice in this one really interesting I love this smartphone
if google works out their video situation and portrait shots they will pretty much be the supreme camera phones hands down.
You are so positive realist thanks
Great video, Tom, keep it up :)
I would push the red button! After my Pixel 3 XL, I started questioning whether Google had given up or not
Smashing the red button, gotta press it with feeling
Of course i will hit that Red button Camera quality of Pixels are amazing and suits my taste for photos. Great video BTW.
Red Button! I've been looking to switch to a Pixel from my OnePlus 5
Been using my redmi note 7 which i bought in 2017. The pixel will be a good upgrade this year. 🔴
Green button - Nice video, watching from India
Fantastic video of an overall comparison between mobile & professional photography. Well depth and insight to it. Good job. P.S. Red Button
Best,
Duuane
Great to have such an honest and relevant review of the 8 Pro. Of course it's Pixel for me!
