Mercedes-Benz changed the name of our very popular coupe-styled GLE from the 450 to the 43 AMG. I parked them side-by-side to see if anything else had changed.
The GLE 450 badge looked better and was a true representation of the cars performance. There should only be one AMG version for each model (with the exception of 63 and 65 AMG's)
All the haters out there, who won't be buying either car. I will be getting one and getting one before these Tariff wars take effect. So you all can take your hate and wear it well while I'm buying my Coupe. hahaha Also, why does the 43 look larger than the 450?
I LOVE THIS CAR! and I HATE THIS CARS DASH! how do you design such an aggressive body with such a ho-mum gauge cluster? Oh that's right German practicality.
Electronic gadgets is still Germany's weakness. Don't get me wrong I have MUCH respect for under the hood electronics of benz & BMW. But they still haven't caught up with the Japaneses in creature comforts. Come on it's 2017 the whole dash should be OLED.

450 is a beast on sports +. It's like you're holding on to dear life. 43, uhn. it's just dragging it's ass around with yor foot on the floor. When youre reducing down hill, 450 performs and sounds much better. Yes, I did all the adjustments for suspention, steering etc. not good.

This is bs, I'm really starting to drift away from amg on my next car. No more exclusivity or craft. These two gle suvs are only amg tuned. They are not your typical 100 thousand dollar amg. Why would you spend your money on this bs? No more exclusivity for amg they are hitting the bigger market. In another note, go see the 2015+ cars and look at the exhaust tips? The same ones you find in a hyundai sonata. The fake exhuast tips!!!! This is depressing
I do indeed know the differences. They are the same size and the AMG enhancement was added to the 2017 while remaining pretty much the same car. In 2016 they tried to do the 450s as an "AMG lite" model but then decided to go for the full AMG designation in 2017.
I own a CLS63 AMG so miss me with that “broke boy” shit.. and I agree with the poster, this car should not get a full “AMG” nameplate.. call it AMG sport or something like BMW M-Sport...this is just to make stupid people pay more for a fake badge..
Not sure why Mercedes would dilute/cheapen its AMG brand in this way. Now you have slow AMG clones (gle43) driving around town with AMG badging. If I had known Mercedes would do this I would have NOT bought my gle63s AMG. Sad.

That's funny, my wife just spent 98,000 on a GLE43AMG and its fast as fuck! Its a head turner in sport+ anywhere you go.
The REAL AMG 63s is faster and sounds awesome.

it is an amg sport. all 43 models are sport models.
