There were 4 towns. In each town, people were starving to death. Each town had a bag of seeds.
In the first town, no one knew what seeds could do. No one knew how to plant them. Everyone starved.
In the second town, one person knew what seeds were and how to plant them, but did nothing about it for one reason or another. Everyone starved.
In the third town, one person knew what seeds were and how to plant them. He proposed to plant them in exchange for being declared the king or ruler. All ate, but were ruled.
In the fourth town, one person knew what seeds were and how to plant them. He not only planted the seeds, but taught everyone the art of gardening. All ate, and all were free and empowered.

Since Mahdi means guide , he will be rightly guided and he will rightly guide people, abide by the principles of Nahi an al munkir and amr bin maruf , follow all the principles and pillars, when it comes to hidaya even Qur'an is the Mahdi , the hadith is the mahdi, the azan is the mahdi , the khudba is the mahdi, the books are Mahdi and to me any person who is righteous, rightly guiding people around him, defending truth, sharing 🕯️ light, huda, taqwa, spending of what he is given , assisting others is mahdi...on condition he is not doing it for fame or other motives but he is doing it for Lord's pleasure alone, he is the group of the mahdians or the guides that are rightly guided and rightly guiding people.
