I've watched this many times and I wasn't going to cry this time. Failed.
Unbelievably moving. No matter how often I watch it.
They probably changed some lives for the better by performing at the jail...they done good....God bless e'm all.
What an impact; first watched this full documentary 7 years ago, but now it seems more relevant than ever; thank you for producing this film.

to think that most, if not all, of these singers are dead now. They used their last energies making another generation reflect on life

@@Mytagz I don't know for sure. I was fortunate enough to come across it by fluke on PBS. There are likely sites online where you can pay to watch it. Also once the world settles down I bet a DVD copy can be found at a local library. :)

I had never heard of this AMAZING group or it’s creator till this morning on CBS News Sunday Morning. And that is sad because they are so freaking FANTASTIC and INSPIRATIONAL!!!!!! I teared up watching the CBS story… I shed elephant tears watching this video!!! The impact of this performance is clearly written on the faces of the inmates and by their reactions afterwards!!!!!! I pray that this chorus will continue spreading joy FOREVER!!! May God bless and keep each and every one both performing and watching!!!!!
This always gives me the chills and brings tears to my eyes. At the same time it is so empowering
Bob was a Fighter.. he wanted to be there at the End so bad. When the Big guy was doing the duet by himself the shot of bobs family was Touching. They honored him well here and brought tears to my Eyes watching this for the 1st time over the wkend.
Ugh! I've watched this doc soooo many times and this never looses its emotional impact. A fantastic Bob Dylan song and watching this rendition makes me weep every single time. Just beautiful.

This is on my Forever Young playlist. Havn't seen it in a year or so. Almost got thru it without tears welling up in my eyes. Two groups of people caring for each other in the deepest way.
When you get a standing ovation from convicts, its hard to top that.

I live in the area and have been in the theater that they usually use for their performances. I've got to say the musical director does a great job of putting together a great little band to support the choir. They are worthy of an off Broadway production.

You can rent the dvd on Amazon Prime. It originally appeared on PBS, so you may be able to find it there as well. I loved it so much that I bought it.

It's so incredibly heartbreaking to think that those prisoners may have chosen a different path if they had had grandparents like those wonderful people in their lives.
Can't help but think about how fir some of them that performance brought back such powerful memories of their younger years before their lives "messed up"

What has crawled up the 3 people's butts who have disliked this video? How can you not love a group of elderly people singing an inspirational song to a group of prisoners (and even for them to tear up from the beauty of it).
I was just commenting on that, on another video. How you can have the most touching, neutral, benign video, and there always has to be that few who hit the thumbs down. Its the mentally whacked in the population.
