Acrylics can be the simplest and easiest way for a beginner to learn classical painting techniques with professional artist Will Kemp
Acrylics can be used in thin layers like watercolours, or in thicker, more opaque applications of paint, like oil paint. Acrylics dry quickly and can be diluted and cleaned with water, making them simple to use, odourless, and accessible to all.
In this course, Will Kemp takes you on a journey that will unleash your inner artist, providing an introduction to the materials and techniques used in acrylic painting.
The course follows a progressive sequence, covering beginner and advanced acrylic painting methods, from underpainting and glazing to impasto and textural effects. It also addresses setup and materials, colour mixing and pigment choice, brush-handling and palette-knife techniques, as well as gels and mediums.
By the end of the course you'll have a final still-life project you can hang with pride, and a solid foundation of painting knowledge, making the transition into more challenging subjects or mediums much easier.

I love watching painting videos! I'm only 12 but I love to paint and draw! I don't have any canvases but my dad has wood and I love to paint on the wood! I can't remember which kind of paint I have but my dads Aunt gave me a whole case full of 10 paints, a leaf, a sponge, different brushes, watercolors and she's even taught me a few techniques! I painted a stool last year with her that had kittens and dogs on it! Then I got to have one of her oil paintings of a beautiful waterfall!! I'm going to ask for some more paint supplies for Christmas. But until then, I'm saving up for a table easel and a few small canvases!! Ok, I'm gonna go watch more of your videos, bye!!! :D :)

This is so true :) I regret not picking up my brushes for almost 13 years. After going to engineering school and handling a stressful job, I finally decided to stop waiting to find time and actually made time to start painting again...I feel like I can breathe again, and I feel like I found my passion again 😍

I have recently retired to a country region in Australia. There are no local art schools or classes.
I used to paint in childhood; I'm now 58.

Mr. Kemp is a great teacher. I agree with the comments that reflect on his personal style. He makes it sound like he's talking to me personally, and he goes into enough detail to describe what he's doing. I've had some trouble getting the whole picture from other teachers, but this fellow is making the whole process seem clear and doable. I am very grateful and glad I found him. In my personal opinion, his courses are worth every penny.

Wow! You completely captivated me. To this day, I've only worked with Markers, Soft Colored Pencils, Watercolors and oil pastels. I've been trying to find the right medium that works for me. I was thinking about starting with either Oil Or Acrylic paintings, but after watching a lot of videos and yours especially, I've decided to go with Acrylics.

I received an acrylic paint set a couple years ago for Christmas and put in a closet and forgot about it. I recently started drawing and have been pleased with my work. We just found the paint set and I can't wait to start painting!

I have a large canvas and plenty of supplies ready to use, yet I’m scared to put the imagination from my head into the canvas, because I’m scared that it will not come as what I will imagine! This lesson is very short but it demo how to paint well in using acrylic painting and you explain it very well. The drawing is so excellent and I like it very much
I like this man. I shouldn't, because he is not really my sort of bloke, especially when he says "morning Class!". But, there is something about what he says and how he says it that just gets ME, and I thank you Will for just being you. I painted your apple from your video and it looks good. At 73 and a retired architect, I haven't seriously painted since A Level, so I'm going to have another go.
