The guitar used is a J&D JM40. A budget friendly guitar designed to give the look and feel of a Fender Jazz-master.
•
The amp is a Tyler Amps JT14, which sounds similar to a vintage Fender Princeton but with a little more low end and body!

Absolutely LOVE the sound of this guitar
I got to say this thing sounds pretty phenomenal for that price. I have been looking for my thirteenth guitar. I think I’m gonna buy one I found for $250
Nice! Hope it works out for you!
Did you buy it?
I never did actually. Honestly forgot about it
I got one of these for Christmas in the exact color scheme. Love it so far.
The color is fresh!
Thanks for sharing brother!
Nice little demo, just saw one advertised, might pick it up thanks to you.
Subbed!
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Sweet sound !
Personally for the price range i found it perfect as I'm only an amatuer small club gig guy. It does the job!
Great to see a video of this awesome guitar. I’ve had my Olympic white example for about 6 years now. Aside from a minor issue of electrical interference, which was solved by grounding the metal pieces, this is a solid guitar.
Yea for sure! Great bang for what you pay
Thanks for the demo. Like the color and sound. Would you play this in a live setting?
I have on a few occasions. Both using my rig. And once using a friends amp. It took a little more to dial it in compared to my other guitars. But it’s sound and feel is def solid and usable. Also it’s about 1/4 the price of my other guitars to be fair.
@@aaronjlivecchi thanks!
I think I've just found my next guitar.
I was eyeing up the Harley Benton JM, but this looks way nicer with the bigger body. That blue with the t/shell pickguard looks made for me.
Cheers!
Edit - I cant find it for sale anywhere 😕
Glad you found it helpful! Hope it works out for you!
I would like to find one too. Sadly it seems that they aren't available anymore
I own the Harley Benton JM. Does this have the correct body dimensions for a Jazzmaster?
Not sure tbh
4:57 sounds a whole lot like a little riff I love, from Do It Again by Elevation
Captain Competence it was pretty much taken from that lol :)
Glad you like it! It’s solid for the price for sure !
Aaron J Livecchi Amazing, I’m most likely going to be purchasing. Currently running a Fender Tele through a Blues Jr III, but definitely looking for something with a little more punch. I love it, great video man, thank you!!
Captain Competence appreciate that a ton! Thank you!
Thinking about buying one.
What was that overdrive pedal that you used, and you said you liked?
Sounds very good.
Which? The lower gain was the CNZ audio Dumble. The higher gain was the Like My Pedals Marshall Law.
I guess my one concern is the quality for the price. How is it’s intonation? Did you say that demo was all factory settings and strings?
Captain Competence yes. It was exactly how it came in the box. Didn’t need to set mine up. And I went with stock strings to keep it as honest feeling as possible. I haven’t had any intonation issues or issues with tuning personally. It’s not amazing compared to my other guitars. But in its defense. The others are like 4x its price.
Aaron J Livecchi that’s wonderful to hear. Thanks so much for all your help, much appreciated, I’ll keep you updated!!!
Aaron J Livecchi - What is the Fretboard radius on the JM40?
C shaped profile. 24.75” scale neck according to the internet description.
Are those pick ups ever so slightly out of phase, or is it the reverb setting? Either way, it sounds way more rad than its price tag suggests. Eyeballing one of these, after I get rid of the current lump. (Need a lighter, smaller guitar, than my hollowbody, after some health issues)
Probably just the tone of the pick ups you’re hearing.
How much does this guitar weigh? That’s a CRAZY deal from the way it sounds for only being $250. I play lead electric for my church and on my own time I play a lot of blues. Would you recommend this guitar? For lead electric I’m usually playing CAGED chords higher up on the neck as well as some octaves and one liner licks.
Captain Competence it can def do the church sounds. For blues I’d go more strat like. But this can do it too.
Aaron J Livecchi thanks so much for all the help. Much appreciated! SO glad I found this channel!
Captain Competence really appreciate the kind words! Hope it works out for you.
What size are the frets?
So is it safe to say these are pretty much the same thing as Harley Benton/Thomann? Trust me when I say that's not a bad thing. My mate just grabbed up one of these today and loves it. I'm next on the list for one. Seafoam green or Coral for me, please!
I’m pretty sure they’re the same
@@aaronjlivecchi Again, nothing close to being a bad thing. HBs are getting quite the reputation for being decent guitars. My mate sure seems to think so with his.
Hows the tremolo? Does it stay in tune and is the wiggle stick screw on or stick in ?
I think screw in. But it’s been a few years since I’ve had this. Stayed in tune decently. But idk how well if you plan on doing super hard bends.
Donde se puede comprar este modelo y en este color? gracias

are the pickup cavities jazzmaster size or p90 size?
It’s more of a JM shape and look. Def just P90s
Hey quick question, do these guitars come in a gig bag or anything?
No gig bag included
@@aaronjlivecchi thank you. Thinking of buying a telecaster type guitar from them
I haven’t tried the tele. This one I have is solid for the price though.
how is the fret board? Is it scratchy? Or is it polished?
I wouldn’t say it’s pristine. Maybe mildly scratchy. But not unplayable.
@@aaronjlivecchi lengend! Cheers for the reply
Is it routed for the rhythm circuit controls?
No idea
@@aaronjlivecchi If it came from the same factory as the Squier JMs then it should be.
It’s a J&D guitar.
My only question is how were the frets out of the box? Were they sharp or unpolished?
They aren’t as great as like a really nice pricier guitar. You can feel them a little. But it’s not bad. The guitar is playable. I’ve gigged with it a few times. Took a little more tweaking to get dialed in. But the guitar is like 1/4 the price of my other ones.
Hey thanks! That was very helpful
John Laycock you’re welcome! :-)
What the fretboars radius?
C shaped rosewood. Not much other info on amazon
Did you end up selling this thing or do you still have it?
Sold it recently
@@aaronjlivecchi I think my buddy bought it lol. Right after he got it we looked up a video on it and yours was the first to come up
How similar is it to a jazzmaster?
Really just vaguely aesthetically
hey aaron! Are you the builder for the Like My Pedals? God bless man!
Hey! I am not in anyway officially affiliated with them. Just a fan of Joe’s work!
How bout the neck
Reasonable for its price.
Seems to have been discontinued. Shame. It looks neat
I see two left on amazon
@@aaronjlivecchi It's back in production (2023)
man there jm are all sold out rip
I would love to like this video and subscribe ring the notification bell and promote your channel, but New Jersey devils? 🤮 (jk I did all three)
